Do We Win With a Healthy Gurley and Kupp?

Gordon hasn't been a factor anywhere in quite some time healthy or not. As far as Gronk goes he's a 29 year old TE who is wearing down. Them getting a Gronk in his prime or Josh Gordon from 6 years ago doesn't equate here if we're comparing the impact of current missing or injured starters.

Both teams were relatively healthy but Kupp was sorely missed and if TG was healthy CJ would have been getting Malcolm Brown-like carries in the playoffs.

That's a weird statement about Gordon. He was a huge factor in the Patriots offense this year and he too was "sorely missed" when he was gone.

I also didn't say anything about "Gronk in his prime". I'm not sure why you even added that.

The "Fuck Vinobitch" Mock Offseason.

2 things: I think Rodger Saffold should be retained. I know he is getting older but he has been a huge part of the OL's success. I know he has had some injuries but he has been pretty healthy for the last 3 seasons. The OL is going to have to replace Whitworth and Sullivan very soon. I don't want to have to replace Saffold as well. It sounds like he really wants to stay with the Rams, and I feel confident he would take a discount to make that happen. Also, I don't think anybody is going to offer a 3rd round pick for Barron. He's going to be 30 near the start of the year with a $9 million cap hit over the next two seasons. I think the Rams would be able to get a 4th, but I think a 3rd is a bit steep. Maybe if he played like he did in 2017 I could see them getting a 3rd, but even then I think the Rams would be hard pressed to receive a 3rd.

Saffold has definitely been a huge part of our success. That's a fact. He's also thirty-one with a history of injuries. That's another fact. I think that it would be better to find a good offensive lineman in the draft to help replace Saffold.

I will concede your point about Barron, though.

I see what you did there.

Heh. Yeah, his name is similar, but that's it. He destroyed Notre Dame's offensive line.

IMO, the Rams would be lucky to get a 6th round pick for Mark Barron.

I question if Jeffrey Simmons will even be on the Rams draft board.

And, to date, I find it highly unlikely that Germaine Pratt & Rock Ya-Sin get out of the first couple of rounds.

I think that Simmons will definitely be on the Rams radar. Like I mentioned, his off-the-field issue was in high school, and he's grown from it. And he's a dominant interior lineman, probably the second best only to Quinnen Williams.

I will concede your point about Barron. I will also concede your point about Pratt, but not Ya-Sin. Ya-Sin is not a physical cornerback in the run game, and that will hurt his stock. Ya-Sin will be lucky to make it to the second day, as it stands. The Combine should prove to be interesting.

2019 Offense: To do list......

Lolwut? TJ Lang signed 3 years 28.5. That's 9.5 a year. And you think Saffold is going to take 7.6 over a longer spread?

I agree 7.6 is a little low but, Lang had injures his last two seasons and only played in 6 games this year. At 31 there is more chance for these players to get hurt. Saffold won't break the bank. Somewhere around 8.5 to 9 Mil. deal for 3 or 4 years with minimal cap hit year 4.

SUPERBOWL ROLL CALL & ROD Get Togethers

I have a hectic work week but I'll try to post some pictures and videos soon. For now, here's some fun stories for you.

Fun fact, if you check out my Instagram (@Jakethomasc30), my latest pic was taken by Anna Kupp. Yes, Cooper Kupp's wife. I also didn't realize at the time, but she was standing with Brandin Cooks' wife too! She was very sweet. I didn't wanna be that guy who begs for a picture with her, so I stayed cool and just thanked her and said I am a big fan of her husband!

To give you an idea of my weekend, the pre-game Rams party was awesome. It was at the Georgia World Congress Center (which is essentially right next to the stadium), and there was a whole section of "Rams friends and family," hence why I was able to randomly bump into Anna Kupp.

I have a friend who lives in ATL, he's actually a brother to me, so it was great being able to catch up with him. However, I went to the SB by myself, as I couldn't find anyone who'd pay that kind of money to be at the game. I just so happened to see on Instagram that my friend from High School, who I've always liked a lot and got along with, was going to the game with his brothers. He wound up having seats 4 rows behind the Rams bench (Section 114 if I'm not mistaken) and he invited me to sit with him and his family. We got a ton of drinks and food at the pregame party as well! It was great being able to catch up with him and learn about his career in LA. Sadly, he and his family were rooting for the Pats, but they were good sports about it. Really, I can't say anything bad about the Pats fans who I was sitting with; just frustrating to be in a sea of them.

Overall, despite the game, which many will say was bad, I had an amazing experience. Personally, as far as the game goes, I call it one of the greatest defensive chess matches ever. Wade Phillips vs Belichick is really what this game should be dubbed as. They're two of the greatest defensive minds in the game, period. The reality is both teams were shut down on offense, therefore every positive play was completely magnified which made it exciting (at least for the people who were actually there). Despite the poor play on offense, Cooks had two pristine opportunities to change the game, he didn't, unfortunately, and the Pats did.

Oh, and one last thing...

For Belichick, during pregame, to praise McVay (when does Belichick ever say anything nice about anyone, ever?) is huge and should just be one of the many signs that we're still an incredible football team with a Top 4 HC. Sean's learning and will continue to grow. I have faith and although I'm still grieving, I like our chances in the future. We played a TIGHT game against New England, a team who has been in the SB three years in a row. We held our own despite our inexperience, despite losing key guys (and yes I'm referring to Gurley here because I 100% believe he's hurt), and despite some questionable flags.

Love our squad, love our Rams, and I think this is only the beginning of greatness gentlemen. To me, I think McVay will win at least 2 rings and will be our HC for a very long time. GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perspective is badly needed here

It's actually pretty funny when you think it was only a few short years ago this team was sickening to even watch. If we scored 20 points it was an offensive explosion. We have an owner that will spend money, a GM that will take chances, and a coach that IMO could be the greatest hire we've ever had. Demoff is really good with the cap and a roster that is leaps and bounds ahead of what it was 3-4 years ago. And I'm pretty confident this team will make improvements in the off season. It sucks we were so close and if a few things go our way we are the champs. But as much as it sucks we are even farther away from the 15-65 bullshit we all endured. 24-7 in two years since boy wonder was hired. I see no reason that changes anytime soon and I'll bet money we are in this conversation next year and for quite some time.
