Some ‘morning after’ thoughts today…

This thread was - is Sean Mcvay The Best Ever !! At his age he could be. As Ram Fans we might be that lucky.

The bigger question is is that what Mcvay wants & is that his goal to be The Best Ever!!

At his Age he has the chance. I don’t think he wants it,and has a game plan on what that looks like.

He had to go through some deep thinking on what he wants & what that vision is.

I’m just glad he has been The Rams HC & IMO is The Best HC The Rams have or ever will have.

How would you feel if the season ended this way...

Imagine we go into the final week 9-7, needing a win and you're in for the playoffs at the Niners.

The Niners, meanwhile, have clinched the NFC West.

We go into half down 17-3, but after halftime say "ENOUGH" and come back to beat the Niners in OT.

Then we go into Dallas in the wildcard round and pull off the upset. Then win AGAIN to make the NFCCG.........against the Niners.

It's a hard fought game where we are up 10 at the end of the third quarter with the Niners driving......but we end up losing by a FG.

The Niners meanwhile go onto win the Super Bowl.

Yes a little funny, but I realized after this game, how good the Niners look AND the fact that we play them in week 18 that this is a somewhat plausible scenario up until us winning playoff games. From there the question becomes this:

Would you rather beat the Niners in week 18, win two playoff games but lose to the Niners who win the Super Bowl?

OR

Lose in week 18, miss the playoffs but the Niners do NOT win the Super Bowl?
Yeah - I guess writers should get of strike so we don’t have to here this BS!!!

What happens against Cinncy? Especially if The Rams beat them & they go 0-3?

Tough games

20 Random Weighed, Measured, but Slightly Wanting Thoughts

Maybe because of Morris not wanting to give up the big plays so his coaching gives up multiples. How many times have we seen this but people keep thinking he's a good DC. IMO he's the weak link on this team and he proved it once again.
I’m not sure I’m getting your point. When you say “multiples,” what are you referring to?

I think our small sample size for the 2023 defense looks promising. Heck… if we could just get a bounce (2 fumbles and a botched shotgun produced zero turnovers!) it might look great!

Don’t look now, but I’m sensing a ‘new’ Sean McVay this offseason…

Felt like bumping this instead of starting a new topic... (see what I did there?)

This post was made in mid-Summer and is looking GREAT right now.

I just wanted to add what I've seen from McVay.
Now, feel free to say I'm projecting or that what I'm seeing is just confirmation bias.. but I see a guy who has turned a corner in his growth.
He actually looks a little older this season.. may have even added a couple of lbs... but his demeanor is also a bit more steely.
In past years, I have seen moments when he's looked a little overwhelmed on the sideline, I don't expect to see that anymore.
There's just a different vibe with him and, again, I think it's just that he's accepted that he's a coach and that the process and the day to day are important to him as a human. He loves to teach and help players and coaches grow. He's into that shit.

And the other observations in the original post are SPOT ON!!!

We're in McVay's second phase and I'm fascinated to see what comes of it.
No doubt, great call.
Even in pre-season coach looked like he had the fire in him. Of course it's hard to look positive when enduring a tragic season like last year, but still, he does seem to have that fire back.

A shout out to..

Jefferson a 4th year, highly touted route running wr, made a basic route-running error that tutu ran correctly in the same game. jefferson has zero situational awareness.

seems like he's counting his steps and focusing on his own footwork like he's learning to waltz instead of moving in sync with his dancing partner. result = interception.
If your thinking, you’re not playing.
If your not playing, you’re loosing.

Great stat

Why, wasn't the superbowl win good enough for you?

.
It was great. Not into the revolving door thing for players.
I like longtime RAMS, lots of Ram Pro Bowl O linemen.
If we had a coach like McVay on some of those great Ram teams that did not win it all, we WOULD have won several Super Bowls.
If Sean starts drafting young players who pan out and develop I think it will go a long way into keeping him as our coach for a very long time.
His system, his players and let him do what he does.
He can be our Bill Belichick for 20-30 years.
Keep him out of the booth.

Losing My Faith in Van Jefferson

Whatever? Van Jefferson & Cam Akers ?

Posted about the first episode of Rams - grid 2023 about 3/4 of the way through & leadership!!

Shawn Jefferson is what - ? Not as good as Cooper Kupp at mentoring or coaching teammates!!!

Thing is is on Key Situation is that you can’t teach good hands & catching ability. -Plus routes !

A Big turning point was Tutu Atwell not turning & going!!

What’s F’d up & I MEAN really F’D UP is The Ref’s at 5:33 left in the 2nd half PICKED UP a HOLDING CALL !! Saying Matt Stafford was outside the picket(HASH) F’THAT!! YES!! tOTALLY F’-THAT!!

There was a total hood & how does Matthew Stafford know where the HASH is ? NOT ASTER DAME ?? He was 2 feet from the hash but just outside the LT A’ Jackson! How do you know where that is ?
That turn & go on Stafford on INTeENTINOAL grounding because Tutu didn’t turn & go on his route was just showing the WR where he needs to go. The line of scrimmage might move, but THE HASH remains the SAME !!!
— I just think it SUCKS you’re asking a QB so much & that petty CRAPnis such BS because the INTENT of The CALL is WRONG!!

Is Ryan Wendell the most important part on the Rams offensive line?

Perhaps. Could also be the addition of Avila and that the starters have remained healthy for the most part (until today).

But, I'll give him amazing once I see a better rushing attack.

I wonder if Mike Munchak is still consulting with the team.
Funny I came here to post a tweet

Hilarious Ref, if posted my apologies

This is something the league should address. Grounding is meant for plays when the QB hurriedly gets rid of the ball under pressure with no actual intent to hit a receiver. It’s not meant for plays when the receiver simply runs the wrong route.
Agreed, they definitely need to figure this out since they can throw it directly in to the ground to stop the clock, or out of bounds (past the LOS) no problem.
