Simone Biles is the GOAT ...

Why do I care this much about gymnastics? My younger sister (the older younger sister; she's currently working towards a medical degree, which is something she's really wanted) was a gymnast at one point (my other younger sister is a black belt in taekwondo and a hell of a musician, and she persevered through cerebral palsy and autism), and she was actually really good. My mom used to teach gymnastics to young girls at a summer camp.

So I learned a lot about gymnastics (especially since my gymnast sister insisted on playing "Stick It", a really annoying chick-flick of gymnastics every car ride to her meets). I learned to hate that movie...but I also learned a lot about how much these girls work towards their dreams, learned from my mom, mostly watched gymnastics on the Olympics, and marveled at how amazing they were, even when they failed, they had the courage to try, in front of millions, and it made me respect every gymnast.

Simone Biles truly is a powerful young lady, and from everything I've heard, a true role model for young girls, not just gymnasts.

Baldinger on DLine, Avila, Nakua

Double teaming him isn't enough. Even now, in his 10th season, I'm still amazed. Watching him play.....this is once in a lifetime.
Yep. When he finally retires there will be this big hole that will likely never be filled. My kid keeps saying that it will not be as much fun watching the Rams when AD hangs it up. I agree, even in a loss he’s still gives me something to get excited about.

Big Rams Come-back ...

Durant isn't a SCB, he's a boundary CB. Shelley is a bonafide SCB so where is he? Witherspoon has been playing lights out. Kendrick has been good as well. Lake is better than Fuller that much is clear. Absolutely this team has their starting safeties going into the future with Lake and Yeast.

Williams has played well there is no doubt. But when you break down his runs, the difference is the OL. Avila draws all the praise rightly so, but Shelton is showing why he's starting. He's simply better on the second level than Allen. He's the unsung hero of this OL. They will have to pay him to keep him. His 2024 year voids as a starter. That is where the cap savings from Havenstein would come into play. If he keeps performing as he is, the Rams will need to pay him $9-$12M/yr.

If I'm McVay if Jackson returns as it sounds like, I rest Noteboom as their swing. Let him heal up. Dotson looked very good at RG. Noteboom's contributions will be as a reliable swing who can play inside and outside. Next year he's their option at RT. Havenstein will be 33 and his cap jumps to $14.7M. They can save $6.5M and they will need that money for Shelton and Dotson as well.
I see what you did there.

You sneaky bastard :laugh3:

Matt Gay 4 50 + yarders

When he did miss wasn’t it always to the right? Or am I thinking of Zeurlein?

Yep, many of us didn’t like either contract. But good QBs are hard to come by and I don’t think the Rams had a choice with Goff, even if he had his warts. Signing him early kept the price down at least. It likely changed the Rams history because he was a big piece of the Stafford trade. If they had traded him eatlier or given him a first round tender then I wonder who the newly drafted QB would have been and would the Rams never have gotten Stafford.

However, Gurley’s contract was risky with his past knee surgery. I loved him and he made McVay’s offense so much better, but I didn’t like that contract. It was much more money than the top contracts for RBs at the time.

Yeah, that is a lot of cap for a kicker. I’d bet that with the Colts planning on drafting a rookie QB it had them thinking they may need to rely on more field goals this season. I wonder what year they cut him.
That may be a little high for a kicker but with the new TV contracts coming out in 2024 - we could afford it for a kicker of his standing

A few Rams Colts re-watch notes

That's a fair take Woodie. I think with Boom it is simply the disappointment we've had from him in the past, and sometimes players improve while the fan base maybe takes time to adjust to the improvement.

I actually acknowledged that he can play tackle in that season prior to us paying him and I was behind paying him. But I feel like he's burned us over and over by missing time. Either way though he has been money this season and deserves the accolades.

I like Noteboom as trade bait if/when some play-off bound team loses an OT prior to the deadline. Of course, most of this thinking depends on A. Jackson's health and how McVay is feeling about the developmental progress of McClendon and Arcuri for swing duty. I'm favoring our 2024 1'st round draft pick to be our LT of the future, with A. Jackson becoming a competitor for the starting RG role next season should we lose both Dotson & Anchrum to free agency following this season. Ultimately, Jackson could play a key swing role at OT/OG and train to become Havenstein's eventual replacement at RT.
