Hammond: Rams experimenting with players in different spots

I'd like to see the offense embrace and impose the physical nature and identity that our defense has become and lock down an identity. I think we've seen it occasionally from guys like Britt, Quick, Gurley and yes, even little Tavon without the ball... but i think as many have alluded to...the offensive line is not very physical or effective considering the beef up front. It's a bit frustrating to behold considering the power running mantra we've been sold.

This. X1000.

Instead, they just blame all the OL failures on GRob.

Drew Brees' Press Conference: "The most desperate team wins"

All great news...I'm sure had he played week 1, we would have heard the same things. And by week 10, where would we be???
You didn't like Danny Amendola?
Amendola is a good player. Runs a 4.6 which scares no corner and no safety, so Danny ran top tier routes but didn't cause the defense to worry....fear and worry are very important. Britt at least scares the corner with his speed.

Changes coming with or without Jeff Fisher

If you reward Fisher with a 6th year after 5 losing ones, you are signaling to every player and everyone in the league that mediocrity is accepted by the Rams. It's too late for Fisher to finally realize he needs to turn the offense over to a quality coordinator. He should have figured that out from day one in 2012 when he picked Schotty over Hue. He got the defensive coordinator right, but doing it his way on offense has been a failure. Also what big time coordinator will want to work under Fisher. He may say he will turn over the full reigns of the offense, but once things get tough you can rest assured he will stick his hands in things. It's time to move on. 5 years and vast draft and free agency resources are enough to show that you can sink or swim. Fisher sunk. He got more than a fair shake. Time to make the move.

Gregg Williams returns to New Orleans for the first time since the bounty scandal

The New Orleans Saints had the entire franchise thrown off its axis more than four years ago, when the NFL suspended coach Asshole Face and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams for the full season for Williams’ role in the maintenance of a bounty program during the 2009 season. For the first time since then, Williams will return to the Superdome as a coach.

“This is the first time going back down there and coaching,” the Rams defensive coordinator told reporters on Friday. “Really looking forward to it, got a lot of great memories, a lot of good feelings, a lot of good people there that I still stay in contact with.”

There may be some great memories, but the fallout arising from Williams’ effort to create an extra incentive for players who already had a reason to apply hits to opponents that rendered them incapable of continuing surely is the worst memory.

Although the NFL arguably (or actually) mishandled the efforts to end this cultural reality of pro football by nailing one culprit while ignoring evidence it had happened and/or was happening elsewhere, Williams is the one person who was linked to the practice at various prior stops in his career.

As a result, there may be some hard feelings, primarily from the fans who’ll gather for the game. How does Williams think he’ll be received?

“It’s not about that, it’s about these guys playing,” Williams said. “These guys are down there, they’re ready to play. So it’s not about me.”

That may be wishful thinking from Williams. He was the clear culprit of the bounty scandal, and it’s unlikely that fans in New Orleans have forgotten about it — or that they’ll let him forget about it on Sunday.
----------
He might want to steer clear of standing too close to the sideline in the front, or to the fans in the back. Maybe hide somewhere in the middle.
---------
Fisher makes 7 million. Williams makes 2 million. Based on their overwhelming success, why won’t the Rams give them a long extension and a well deserved raise.
-------
Seriously? I’m half expecting a “Ring of Honor” ceremony.

They won their 1st Super Bowl with this guy, don’t underestimate that.
---------
I don’t care what people say, he’s an awesome D-Coordinator.

How will Greg Williams be received Sunday?

Do you loathe him? Are you forever grateful for his 2009 defense?

--------
I don't loathe him. He helped bring us a Superbowl and really did nothing different any of his stops along the way. We knew what we were getting. The NFL was on a witch hunt.

Wasn't thrilled he threw us under the bus with his reinstatement in the balance. But that was a forced confession if i've ever seen one. Goodell held the mans career hostage.
-------
Well, we wouldn't have won our super bowl without him but he did throw us under the bus during bountygate.

I'd say roundly booed?!?
--------
This right here is why I will forever hate him. Unforgivable.

I honestly don't know why any player or staff would trust the little turd.

----------
Anyway you look at it, Gregg, Payton, and Brees brought the Saints out of the cellar of the NFL.
With that said, I do expect him to get booed.
---------
Considering he's likely to be in the coaching booth or not announced on the sidelines, I doubt he gets much reaction if any at all
---------
Forever Grateful. His Defense won the Super Bowl. I'd cheer if he were there.
---------
GW was an idiot for running his mouth around too many people like sean pamphilon, but if I blame anyone for the fake bounty thing, it's goodell. GW didn't really do anything scores of other DC's did for decades before him.
So basically, if I boo'ed GW it would be for the end of that frisco game, not the bounty thing.
---------
If you can recognize him anymore. Dude has done everything to change his look
----------
Yup. Guy threw us under to attempt to save himself rather than fight the hypocrisy that was penalizing us for stuff NFL teams continue to do. Not to mention, he knew that it would come out at some point and continued to flounce his "program" even when he knew there was going to be an investigation.

Williams is a coward and a piece of garbage. His attitude since then has not helped foster any goodwill towards Saints fans.
----------
How can anyone still like him? He was freagin giving away our draft picks before we made them!!!

He didn't stand up for his team, or his players when the exaggerated charges were levied.
He sold us out to get LESS time suspended than Payton.

That guy was a selfish piece of crap. Was he a good coordinator? Sure. But he is still a garbage person.

Time to Start Heating things up!!

One of my favorite Ram vs Saint games was late December back in 83...When first year Head Coach John Robinson and his Los Angeles Rams invaded the Big Easy taking on Bum Phillips (first year with Saints) and the New Orleans Saints with the winner going to post season.

Game went back & forth and the Saints took a 24-23 lead with 25 seconds left Vince Ferragamo completed a couple of passes last one hitting WR Preston Dennard on a ten yard out with no time outs left and 3 seconds left on the clock...The Rams had started that season with Kicker Chuck Nelson (4th round pick) because 2nd year kicker Mike Lansford was on IR because Nelson struggled the Rams activated Lansford who calmly kicked a 41 yard field goal to give John Robinson and his Los Angeles Rams a thrilling victory in the Big Easy!

I went School the next day (Junior in High School) and went around as a popular phrase that year for the Saints was "Who Dat, going beat dem Saints?" I went around to everyone with my Ram gear yelling "Dem Rams, going to beat dem Saints!" The following week the Rams upset the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas 24-17 for Robinson's first post season victory as a Head Coach. Overall an exciting year for the Rams considering they came off of two losing seasons in 81 and the strike shortened season of 82.,

I love the Saint in the background flat on his back.
His weekend was just ruined.

First Post - Hello

Thanks all for the warm greeting!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving day and will have a great rest of the weekend.

Looking forward to Sunday! It clearly is looking bleak for this season, but I am pretty sure I'm going to end Sunday with some positives to see in Goff. This is all about trending up and having excitement build for the Inglewood Palace.

Go Rams!

Rams@Saints injury report

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/11/25/week-12-injury-report-roundup-5/

Rams at Saints

The Rams head to New Orleans with C Tim Barnes (foot) and DT Ethan Westbrooks (thigh) questionable to play. Their injury report is otherwise clear.

The Saints aren’t in quite as good shape. LT Terron Armstead(knee, quadricep), RB Travaris Cadet (toe), T Tony Hills(abdomen), RB Mark Ingram (concussion), C Senio Kelemete(triceps), S Shiloh Keo (neck), G Tim Lelito (calf) and DE David Onyemata (knee) are all listed as questionable while RB Daniel Lasco (hamstring) has been ruled out.

Jared Goff 'lights out' in practice on Wednesday

At what point ?? How can he be one & not the other ?? He may be the best there ever was ?? He is flat out slow, but by all means finds a way to beat defenses &!there pass rushes.

Denver has a great pass rush & NE Pats had a very poor O'line. He might not move as fast as most ,but he gets away from a lot of pressure in most cases.
When he has bad games it is almost always when teams can get pressure on him without blitzing a lot. Like most great pocket passers he will often destroy the blitz. The blitz creates open receivers. A smart, vet QB who can read presnap will more often than not beat the blitz.
Brady struggles historically when he gets consistent pressure, more so if it comes without a blitz. IE the Giants SB wins.
