The five best teams at managing the salary cap and player contracts

The best teams at managing the cap are the teams that constantly compete for the playoffs and contend for a Superbowl. Nothing else matters. You can sign everyone you want but if you don't make runs at the Superbowl, you paid a bunch of money for shit and have poorly managed your resources.

So listing shit teams in the top five removes all credibility of this article.

Vinny B: Which under 30 Ram will be cut?

1) Franklin, Joseph-Day & Gaines make Brockers expendable in 2020.

2) Wouldn't be surprised to see Talib or Whitworth re-signed for one final year in 2020, unless we win the SB in 2019.

3) High 2020 Draft Pick will replace Fowler.

4) 'Show me the money' Peters will flee during his free agency.

5) Blythe & Higbee will likely follow the outside money in free agency.

2020 Draft will bring :

Edge rusher
CB
1 or 2 offensive linemen
TE

jmo.

State of the Franchise: Don't sleep on Seahawks in crowded NFC

I thought the Seahawks would win 7 or less games last year, and they were surprisingly competitive, mostly off a feisty running game and an obnoxiously effective pass rush.

I think losing Frank Clark is huge (I dreaded us going against this guy for the next decade). Losing Doug Baldwin is a big setback, but still moreso if they have other injuries to their receiving core. Losing Earl Thomas doesn't seem so big, but he was part of what inspired that team in the early going.

I genuinely like Russell Wilson. He's been better than Drew Brees for at least a couple years, IMO but he's approaching the age where he needs more weapons, and he has the starkest cabinet of his career.

Again, I expect 7 or fewer wins for the Seahawks this year, falling behind the 9ers who get 8 or 9. They were more of an unknown quantity last year. Teams will be more prepared for their gameplans on both sides of the ball and their talent IS diminished with Clark and Baldwin gone.

Being the Seahawks, they'll probably be weirdly competitive again, and I'll be scratching my head...

I am right there with you on this, all of it.

Writer for the Veronica Mars reboot: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

https://tvline.com/2019/04/28/veronica-mars-kareem-abdul-jabbar-writing-staff-hulu-revival/

The most surprising face to join Hulu’s upcoming Veronica Mars revival might actually be behind the scenes: Last September, executive producer Rob Thomas revealed that the show’s writing staff includes none other than NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. (Check out the announcement tweet below.)

The former basketball icon is also a bestselling author who has written many books, including a novel about Sherlock Holmes’ brother Mycroft, in addition to contributing columns to various publications. But how did Abdul-Jabbar find himself penning dialogue for Veronica & Co.?

“It’s kind of a crazy story,” Thomas tells TVLine. “He’s quite a Renaissance man… He wrote a column on the five young adult books everyone should read. One of those was my second novel, called Slave Day. I was so thrilled that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar named one of my books as one of the five books everyone should read. In that column, he said that he was both a Veronica Mars fan and an iZombie fan.”

While planning a re-release for Slave Day‘s 20th anniversary, Thomas’ editor at Simon & Schuster suggested that he ask Abdul-Jabbar to write the foreword. “I reached out to his management, and I got word back, ‘Hey, Kareem is happy to write the foreword to Slave Day, but he wants to play a zombie on iZombie,'” Thomas recalls. Thus was born the basketball star’s upcoming guest spot on the CW series’ May 9 episode as undead city councilman Zed.

Then over dinner, Abdul-Jabbar and his writing partner Raymond Obstfeld expressed interest to Thomas in developing a television show. “At a certain point, I said, ‘Well, you know if you do want to work in television, it would be great for you to get a little bit of experience. You’re both Veronica Mars fans. Do you want to come on the staff and see how a television show works?’ And so they did,” Thomas shares. “There was not a day in the Veronica Mars writers’ room where, when Kareem walked in, it [didn’t] sort of weird me out. It’s a stunning thing.”

Abdul-Jabbar and Obstfeld ended up co-writing Episode 6 of the revival (premiering in its entirety on Friday, July 26), and Thomas has nothing but praise for the duo: “They handed in a terrific script that I’m excited about,” he says.

The #VeronicaMars writing staff!@DavidWalpert, @RickFoxTheActor, @rugz19, @kaj33 & Raymond Obstfeld.

And yes, if you’re brilliant and give yourself a #PartyDown Twitter handle, I'll hire you. Or, you could be the NBA’s all time leading scorer, but you must still be brilliant.

Cool Show in Reno

I've always loved those cabovers.
You dont see many anymore. They're all conventional now
Man I feel old...I learned to drive in a truck just like that...:death:

Cabovers were necessary back in the days when trailer lengths were mostly restricted to 45 ft trailers (or less) except for a coupe of states. They looked at trailer and tractor lengths, which Cabovers allowed for greater trailer length than a long nosed conventional tractor. I didn't miss them at all because like that truck above, they are noisy as hell and hot, because your driver's seat is right over the engine. After driving a Cabover for any length of time, a conventional tractor was like diving a Cadillac!

The other problem with a Cabover is that when you do your fluid checks, the whole Cab pops forward to do that, and heaven help your co-driver if you forget he in the sleeper (team driving) lol.

Ranking the NFL's top 'triplets' from 32-1 for the 2019 season

Yeah, I found that comment... particularly... in conflict with ranking teams like New England higher.

Or at least the writer seemed to imply that was a negative for the Rams.

15. Los Angeles Rams (15.2)
QB Jared Goff, RB Todd Gurley, WR Brandin Cooks

This is a situation where the rampant injury speculation about Gurley is surely affecting things, but Goff's late-season swoon and Super Bow implosion may be affecting the ranking even more. Cooks leads a wide receiver group that is among the best in football, but it's because the top three guys are all basically about as good as each other -- three really good No. 2 wideouts who happen to be on the same team.

These opinion pieces don't get me upset at all. I don't see the negative here on the 3 WRs. It's really what makes the Rams go. Should have done a quintuplets lol. Rams have the depth. Based on numbers Rams should be much higher. Woods and Cooks have great YPC and total yards.

Rams win best defensive lineman every time!

WIRED: Rams WR Coach Eric Yarber

It sure is a pleasure to watch and listen to these coaches coach....McVay has built quite a coaching staff and the Los Angeles Rams have come a long way of assistant coaches being a cast of castoffs...Eric Yarber is one of them and I love his line "All you do is everything right, Rob." Robert Woods and he does...Yarber always moving and coaching up at every opportunity is truly is poetry for me.

FWIW the catch of OTA's so far has been UDRFA WR Jalen Greene out of Utah State one hand behind his head....Nice...Keep coaching them up Coach Yarb as your unit is a pleasure to watch every Sunday.

Great NFL Busts

Alot of busts, NFL will always have more "busts" than other sports. Everyone is physically talented but in football scheme and "fit" are very important.

Jared Goff seemed like a huge bust under Jeff Fisher
Mahomes doesnt throw for 50tds in buffalo.

Even with all of the huge busts like mandarich and leaf. I wonder what could of been with Greg Robinson and Smith who were both #2 overall picks by the rams .

I think some of those busts are whether they were willing to put in the work to succeed.

I'm biased against Leaf. His Aunt initially handled his investments, and she was working for my Dad at the time. Leaf apparently expected immediate results with zero time to grow investments. She apparently ended up dumping her nephew as a client as not worth her time. Basically, the stories I heard were that he was a total asshole, not willing to do anything for himself but expected it all to be handed to him.

Robinson effed around with wanting to be a rap star, but he's apparently learned a bit at least.

It's just so crucial to learn whether the player is willing to put in the work. As good as they were in college, EVERYBODY in the pros was very good in college. And most have improved since.

Memorial Day

Thank you to all veterans for your service. I have a life-long friend who joined the Air Force, and I'm hoping the best for her. Her husband is Army National Guard, I believe.

So, again, thank you so much to all veterans. And to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, I'll never forget you.

3 moves to boost the Rams Super Bowl chances in 2019

I think the concern over unknowns on our OL gets magnified by the fact our achilles heal last year was the Bears/Pats-style D everyone's going to try throwing at Goff this year. We need them to pan out, and quality OL just isn't easy to come by.

One thing to keep in mind is Blythe IS a proven center, so we have that to fall back on if needed.

Shawn Lauvao can be adequate but has been injured a lot. I'd have to look, but I doubt he's made it through many 16-game seasons.

Todd Gurley's Knee Injury Reportedly a Major Concern for Rams Moving Forward

The way I see it, Gurley has the same issues pretty much every players who's had major knee surgery has had. It wears down and aches with a larger workload. There's nothing structurally wrong or we would have known.
Osteorthritis is a structural problem and this hack Doggie Psychiatrist is sticking with the osteoarthritis diagnosis.
