Les Snead presser

Agreed lol. He's got a unique and convoluted way of getting to a point. It almost makes you want to pull for him to arrive to it. But it's also nice to hear from him.

I think he struggles with wanting to share while at the same time realizing that one slip of the tongue could cause tons of damage to his ability to deal.

The better part of valor is discretion.

So Les is trying to answer questions, while he's thinking of things happening in the moment or things needing to be done and also making sure to parse what can safely be said and what can't.

I don't envy him. It's a lot of juggling and I'm more of a deep dive focus person, so I couldn't or wouldn't even TRY to do a job like that.

JRey needs to make that catch. Rams needed him to make that catch. Seeing it again just infuriates me. IMO he's talented but he isn't ever going to be an elite receiver because he lacks the catch radius he should have with his build. When you're in a tight game and need a guy to convert JRey is not the guy you throw it to.

Same with Cooks IMO.

Good thing is we have two guys who are the types you can throw to in the clutch in Kupp & Woods. And maybe at some point this season Everett will be there too, he's got the talent but we'll see.

i hear you. And both Woods and Kupp had drops that hurt us Sunday as well.

I think in many respects we just had our worst game of the season and I'd rather have such a game early than late. This is a Championship team with resolve.

We have too many competitors and the FO is clearly in support, so sometimes these things can be springboards to greater success.

Rams key stats through six games

+Ramsey -Peters changes a lot more than 1 CB post and press man will impact the whole team.

The OCs and QBs of today's NFL will give you a death by a thousand cuts if you run zone coverage and can't move the QB off his spot. This is in part to the rule changes of the modern NFL and the way the offenses are being designed, imo. I think that's kind of the evolution of the game.

If you believe the Rams, they would have made this move regardless of our record. I believe them.

Noteboom Injury update

Im not an OL guy by any means but Im sure he knows not to be reckless in the pocket. They all fear someone rolling up on them.

When I watch the play over he hits the guy like the guy beat him earlier and he is getting him back. After he rolls up into Noteboom you can literally see Allen freeze for a moment. He knew what he just did.

IMO Allen has shown flashes of brilliance among the plays of WTF is he doing.

What needs to happen (likely not this year)

I don't think that should be a factor in whether we should make a move for him. He's always been a little injury prone though. I'd much rather have Scherff in the long run, then again I don't even trust a healthy Noteboom at LT either.

Agree on Scherff. Noteboom with ACL and MCL is unlikely be physically capable of being ready for anything come opening day next year.

I think that's why the Rams are in a bidding war for Trent Williams. Whit is getting older, Hav needs to move inside and we don't know if Edwards is ready to be a pro LT.

Jalen Ramsey was complimentary in past of new teammate Jared Goff ...

Jalen Ramsey’s penchant for criticizing NFL quarterbacks was always going to potentially make trade talks surrounding him somewhat awkward, but he ended up in a place where he hadn’t already burned a bridge.

When Ramsey gave his infamous interview to GQ before the 2018 season in which he trashed multiple quarterbacks , the former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback actually was somewhat complimentary of Jared Goff.

Here was Ramsey’s quote to GQ about the Los Angeles Rams quarterback.
Jared Goff, he’s average to above average. He reminds me of Jimmy Garoppolo a little bit. Year one, he wasn’t good. He wasn’t even good enough to earn his own starting role. Like, if you the number one pick, you expected to start now. Period. He wasn’t ready to do that. He wasn’t able to do that. Then when he did get in, he didn’t really do that good. But in his second year, they got a new offensive coordinator. Your offensive coordinator is just your brainiac. When we played them, it felt like his offensive coordinator was drawing up perfect plays and then he was hitting the open man. For what his team ask him to do, yeah, he’s good.”
That’s about as positive as it got from Ramsey, so that’s a good sign.

Ramsey was acquired by the Rams for two first-round picks and a fourth-round pick. LA made the move for the cornerback even though he’s under contract only through next season.

Between Goff, Todd Gurley, Aaron Donald, Brandin Cooks and Ramsey, the Rams will have some of the highest-paid players in the league by position come next season.

Planned Obsolescence- "an article which refuses to wear out is a tragedy of business"

I am amazed at how you guys think you can buy a tool at Walmart , Home Cheapo and Lowes and expect it to last... .

These companies and Home Cheapo will make a deal...HD will sell X amount of units for $z and advertise the snot out of it. I do all my tool shopping at a tool supply store... nail guns, mitre saws, circular saw etc...I will pay 50-75 more than at Home Depot, but I can guarantee it will out perform and outlast it's cheaply made counterpart

Off tools, lets go to plumbing fixtures...Kohler and Moen..good brands , right? 45 bucks cheaper at a box store than at a plumbing fixture store

take one apart... plastic fittings vs brass fittings.. is it worth the extra money? Figure out the time it takes you to go and buy a new faucet, remove the old one and install the new one.

vacuums... I have a Miele bought from a local store when we first moved to RI...$450 back in 04..3 dogs you need a good vacuum. Wife is on her 3rd Dyson from Home Cheapo with her cleaning business in 5 years, and she only does 5 houses a week

big box stores are a rip off.... dont waste your time or money at them
I don't think anyone has been bragging about tools from Home Depot. For many people HD or Lowes is all they have if they need it fast. That is always driven by a new job or a tool wearing out. I buy old stuff that can repaired by me. I'm lucky there is a motor rebuilding shop in town that I can get parts, usually brushes will do it. For the average guy buying the battery powered tools is a huge waste of money. Look great, work great but the batteries don't last. Cheaper to buy a new tool. Again and again. Over time could easily pay for a small generator if a wall socket isn't available.

We had a Kirby vacuum which was really made well and could be worked on as the used/rebuilt market proves but upgraded to a central vac that can't be beat. If any dog or cat owner can have a central vac don't wait. Do it. You'll be amazed at the dirt you've been leaving behind. Don't go cheap on the power head either. I find Dyson and similar ones at thrift stores that still work great or just need a little cleaning. Usually for $5, sometimes less. Women like them because they are powerful, versatile and very lightweight and sadly always updated to a new and shiny look with a big advertising campaign to get them to buy a new one.:palm:

Studs and duds from Rams' Week 6 loss to 49ers

Didn't matter because there were no long passes. Shanny went with power runs or very short passes to negate our rush. It's what the Pats do when their OL is garbage. Brady takes so few hits because he has options very quickly and usually pretty short which is another reason why he can play longer...

Unfortunately, unlike McVay's scheme relies on zone runs which set up the mid level play action routes.

That's defeated pretty well by blasting both A gaps, amplified by our inexperience on the interior OL.

But as for the D, we got no pressure from the edge because that takes time and Shanny wasn't going to let our D get going. Plus, we made it easier with that damn hybrid zone we were running to accommodate Peters because he's just not a man cover guy. He's an off/zone ballhawk and just not a great fit for this scheme. I had hopes, but Peters is just who he is.

I really don't hold much against our DL this game. We held them in check in the run game, but schematically, we were just in a bad matchup on both sides of the ball.

The moves today are hopefully a big part of addressing these issues as well as bolstering a starting lineup that was decimated with injuries...
Thanks for the great reply.
I did wonder if the Rams punches in that TD and it was 14-14 how much more aggressive the Whiners O would have been.
Once they were up a score Shanny seemed to play a very conservative game.
Given how inept our O was it made sense.

Cardinals in playoffs!

Strasburg could opt out he has some nice cap hits going forward but also one dud year at like $15M. That said I could see him staying and renegotiating because he's one year away from a 10/5 no trade rule. He'll use that as leverage with them to get a fat contract. Rendon is hard to read, before this year he was a good player but nothing great. They have a decent farm system I think it was right behind the Cards and you're both a handful of ranking spots behind the Dodgers so not sure if they're set up to move on from him but I'd have a very hard time paying a guy like Rendon. Strasburg though if he hits the markets gets as much as Cole.

Rendon was arguably an MVP candidate this year. Even with Soto and Robles, the Nats are going to have a very hard time replacing his production in the middle of the lineup. And Strasburg is a Boras client. He's going to want to get paid as much as he can, so I bet he opts out. And with Cole likely a Yankee (or another coastal team), Strasburg is going to be one of the highest paid pitchers on the market.

I will say that the Dodgers are built to last. We'll be fighting them and the Braves for NL championships to come.
