Im not an offensive coordinator but..

I don't take things like that personally on boards. It makes it easier to survive. Besides If you call me names I have a standard response that goes like this. "I have been called worse things by better people than you." Always takes people aback.
Lol I tend to tell people "That joke's so old the last time it was told my grandma couldn't even laugh, she had to roll over and poop on herself."...
Then they realize how retarded I am and have mercy on my and go away.

Anyone else get the sense Gurley is about done

I'm not sure what to think anymore. I was 100% behind him , but something is starting to smell fishy.
His attitude has changed and it seems like he doesn't enjoy the game anymore. Too bad it was after he hamstrung the Rams with a huge contract . I hope I'm wrong but something is going on behind closed doors . Next man up

This may be nothing, but recall that Gurley was not voted as a team captain this season.

Rome is burning

I do appreciate everyone's thoughts here. Especially the ones respecting ROD's Terms and Conditions.

As Admins & Mods... we pride ourselves on doing our best to keep ROD different. We're always going to do that, but let me just say... IT AIN'T ALWAYS EASY.

Thank you very much to those of you who help us see things that bother you or don't seem to fit here. We try to clean up after everything as much as we can, but we can't do it alone.

Mahalos again.

NET Points / Point Differential

I'd expect 6 of the top 8 teams in the NFL, (by points differential), to reach the Divisional round of the playoffs. There will be some years when an unheralded team gets in and causes an upset, but off the top of my head points differential is normally a good indicator.

I'd guess it would be a more reliable strength-of-schedule tool than wins.

Gerald Everett Is The Answer

After taking time away to cool off, McVay hasn't figured it out. I really thought he had, but he went right back to what wasn't working. The OL cannot execute his preferred scheme. He needs to get Everett on the field and move towards more of a pass-first attack with a greater emphasis on shorter, rhythm throws. Once we start carving teams up by throwing underneath their coverage, it'll open up the run and PA passing he wants to use. I don't know why he went away from it after it worked against Seattle.

Shame that being acclimated to something that worked for so long can turn even a young, innovative mind like McVay into a rigid stump. Hope this Whiners game was a hard slap to his face to adapt.

Any positives?

I actually had a chance to take a look at that last ball to Everett from a different view. It looks like it landed right in front of him within his catch radius. Everett puts his head down before the ball even reaches him. Looks like he couldn't spot the ball in the air (sun was coming from the same direction).

Where are Last Year’s Rams?

LMAO Now Snead and McVay aren't geniuses anymore according to some....especially here. Wow the season is over according to some. Geeez dudes, get a grip. We have seen what this team is capable of in terms of ripping off wins. This team lost this game because of mistakes. Mistakes I said they couldn't make if they wanted to win. Huge penalties in terms of when they were made. Huge turnover that swung the gate wide open. It's a one score game without that turnover.

1. Clean up their own mistakes. Clean up their play.
2. McVay was primarily the reason for this loss. He didn't learn from their first missed 4 & 1 so he did the exact same thing again with the same results. He should have spread them out then run Brown up the middle. His play calling was really strange. He stopped playing to his team's strength and tried to beat the opponent at their game. That is a losing strategy. He isn't adjusting well during the game. He's no longer dictating, but trying to respond to what is being dictated to him (again a losing approach.)
3. McVay needs to accept he need to make changes in personnel. He needs to move Havenstein inside to OG. With Boom out then move him to LG. Rob doesn't have the feet for OT and never has. But he's pretty decent at blocking if he doesn't have to slide to beat an outside rush. Also, Rob is a better run blocker than pass blocker...he always has been, another reason he should be at OG.
4. Time to go to a 12 personnel base with both TE's giving chips. They have 2 good pass catching TE's so Goff is still going to have at least 3 receivers. TE short, Woods intermediate, Cooks deep w/ RB dumpoff.
5. Kromer has to see that he has the guys for a good gap blocking o-line and the perfect RB's in that type run scheme...make the change.
6. They could also go to a 21 personnel base look. On passing downs Brown stays in to block (he's a good pass blocker) with Henderson as a receiver. If they run Brown can provide a lead blocker, or they can run mis-direction...let the defense read who is getting the ball or if it's play action.

This team has the talent and the ability to turn this around. But it starts now. Peters must be forced to play the scheme or bench him. With Talib out their only true man coverage CB is now gone. This is going to be primarily a zone based secondary. It could get ugly if they don't play it right. Their base needs to be a nickel here on out playing 3 safeties.

This was a bad loss. But there is plenty of time to turn it around. Let me remind my fellow fans of all the times the Patriots were left for dead, only to get up off the mat and kick ass. There is no reason to think this team can't do likewise. They have enough talent.

Rams' offensive line still a major problem after Week 5

We have a run stopping ILB in Natrez Patrick. he got in the game today and looked great... better than Reeder.

I think our biggest priorities in the draft will be OG as there will likely be nothing in FA. I think Ramsey will be in play as a CB. We may let Peters, Talib, Fowler and Brockers go and pay Ramsey and another cover CB.
That said, our top draft priority has to be stud OG or C.
Dude, I'm so unsure of what we have now or don't have now, I will probably make no more draft predictions before late November. :censored:
We have so many undeveloped and unproven players that it will take the next part of the season to figure out what we actually do have and who will develop out. On the offense and defense.

Out of Allen, Noteboom, Edwards and Evans, I would be happy if we get two starters out of those guys.

Offensive line is always PRIORITY ONE on a team as we were just recently reminded.
