I didn't say anything about the "cutdown" bro.

We have a practice squad all season where a player can't be nabbed off of to put on someone's 53.
Which the Rams have in fact done.
The comment you quoted me on was regarding final cuts, not practice squad.
If you poach a guy off another teams PS, they have to go on the 53 man.

This is only the 3rd year of the straight to 53 from 90, it doesnt appear any such move was made in '23 or '24.
Doesn't happen before the cutdowns happen because the PS is set after that. So the change yo 1 cut down day is irrelevant.

Not true, guys would be cut and would be able to have a shot elsewhere
So back to the point, Lampkin may or may not make the 53, nothing surprises me, but if he's a final cut, he lands safely on the PS.
FWIW, more of what they see in practice is gonna determine the 53 more than the pre-season games

Yeah, duh.
And I never said a word about "final cuts" man.

How come you can never just agree to disagree and move on with your life?

I posted a few reasons why he and Konata might both be steals straight after the draft. There was a consensus among scouts that they were both great technicians who would fall based on fairly abstract measurables (such as not posting a sub 50 forty or height)

It appears that both are going to comfortably outplay their draft spots :)

If Lampkin doesn’t start at center (which seems a little unlikely) then I don’t see why they can’t mix in some jumbo and H-Back (FB) packages for him (e.g. for max protection). IMO, his kind of talent should be on the field on game day

Bro, you quoted me talking about Lampkin being a final cut. WTF?

And those guys aren't auto on the 53 man roster which unless I read wrong was the discussion.

As for Lampkin he can end up on the PS. Or another team can come and convince him his chances are better on their PS. Once we cut down to 53 those players can end up anywhere from another teams 53 to their PS or our PS.

Yup, although most guys know the team wants them and pretty much agree to be on PS at cutdown
Which is what I expect the case would be with Lampkin if he were to be cut, teams have been known to premium pay guys on the PS so they stick around as well. Getting poached during the season is a whole nuther ball of wax
Wouldnt shock me if he makes the 53 either

I don't think Lampkin's size, or lack of, is a problem in the middle of the line. I can see it if he was a tackle. But a guy that heavy low to the ground should have plenty of leverage in his run blocking. Zuerline thinks he'd be a first rounder if he was a few inches taller. That is saying something.

Yep, low man wins. I remember seeing an interview with Jason Kelcie. He talked about the guys who gave him the toughest time. He gave kudos to AD, but he actually mentioned Poona Ford as the guy who gave him the most trouble and it was because he couldn't get lower than him. Poona always had the leverage. This same advantage will certainly help Lampkin.
