"I love FullBacks" ~ @OldSchool

Tin foil hat theory: Rams selected Lampkin to replace next year’s tush push ban. Instead, Lampkin will line up as full back in short yardage plays and clear a hole for our 3-headed monster at RB.

He may be our OG3, first dude off the bench on the depth chart, if his skills translate. Probably makes the team.

I'd have him learning center too. His size there makes sense and he will have time to learn on the bench.

But honestly this FB hype train needs to die. I blame OS.

Lampkin is also a stand out wrestler in college. You see the lower body power and the understanding of leverage and angles. He can latch on, bend and turn with defenders with ease. If it translates in camp , I find a spot for him on the roster.

I'm curious on why people think Lampkin, Dolac, Wedig would be stolen off the PS when the entire league just had multiple chances to draft those guys but passed on them?
Because the rest of the league has relatively moronic collegiate scouting while the Horns have been having knock out drafts consistently in the McSnead era with their deep-dive, highly analytics scrutinies. Expect some teams at least to follow up extensively on anyone the Horns have drafted or signed as UDFAs. Players on the Horns practice squad with superlative resumes | highlight reels would certainly be at high risk to be poached.

How about changing the poll to a more appropriate "Will he make the Practice squad?"
This was a just having fun type of post or poll. He played fullback in packages in college.

That being said , I do believe he makes the team.
He is a very talented blocker who's lack of height may give him
the leverage to make up for being light

Just having fun with it. I know McVay is not a huge fan of using fullbacks
But like you I think this Kid has a real shot

I vote YES to anything that could diversify this predictable and likely non-explosive offense. It’s why I advocated drafting Milroe and creating some packages to change it up.

You see Kyren run up to the line ready to block. He's not in there to fake on play action. I see no reason why Lampkin could not be used in that role IF he makes the 53. But then again, I'm not Sean Mcvay. And he refuses to take my calls!

I don't mind the fullback conversation. McVay actually did draft one. Meant to make that last sentence blue font.

He did draft one, and he never made it to the regular season IIRC.

Last "wrestler" we had at OC threw a DL into the back of one of our OG's legs -- forget who it was, but he was out for the year after that.
"Wrestler" is not always a good thing.
