Just the tackling alone has helped this defense. It’s self defeating to play a bend but don’t break style and then not stop the play in front of you. Verse was whiffing a lot early on, but now we see him throwing blockers around making some nice plays at or behind the LOS. Rozeboom has showed improvement as well.

Going into this season, isn’t this kind of what we expected from this defense? Growing pains due to youth/lack of experience.

They’re gonna have a big test on Sunday. If they’re ready, this is gonna be a fun game. Allen can turn the ball over if pressed.

Say as you want ?

The DEFENSE gave up 24 points a game against some of the best Offenses in The NFL !!

The Arizona game was basically the only struggle. They gave Mcvay’s offense a chance every game to win.

So you like to pick and choose when to believe what the Rams say?

.
Don't we all. But I suppose you are of course above that aren't you.

So pat yourself on the back. Lay your judgment. And carry on smartly in disagreement.

The defense is young and has hope.

But let's be real its prob still average or below average.

We rank 27th in the league giving up nearly 7 yards per pass.

Combined with the 27th worse run defense in the nfl.

Barkley ran through, over and around our defense. Kamara wasn't on the same level. But he had no problem picking up solid chunks on our defense. Out of his 112 yards his longest run was 13 yards. He didn't have a long run to inflate he stats. Just consistently gashed the defense for 5 or 10 yards most times. I thought they were getting better with the run defense until the last two games. Hopefully they get it tightened up.

Our defense is young and has a lot of raw and inexperienced players. I honestly believe if AD had stayed one more season, this defense would have been a whole lot better. But it gives me high hopes for next season. Oh, and Speights is looking like he can really play. I still think we need another stud on the LB core though.

I'm actually more disappointed in our offense this season than the defense. We are running the ball better but it seems like the explosions on offense have been few and far between. I still stand by my assertion that Tutu needs more snaps if for no other reason than his speed and ability to open up the passing lanes for other receivers.

I trust Rams made the right decision long term but it probably cost the Rams a couple games this season. Is there something I missed re: your MFer comment towards Jones. Did he in fact try playing hardball for more $$ or pout about not getting it?
And they made the wrong decision by starting Reeder as long as they did. If he wasn’t injured he may still be starting. It would have been better for Speights to take his lumps early.

This tends to happen playing dept zone

Bend but don’t break style. They give up yards.

Not to mention T.O.P. That, coupled with an offense that's struggles to convert 3rd downs (much less score) produces what we see this season.
Yep. It’s deceiving. It makes the defense look much worse than it actually is.

Against the Saints, they gave up only 6 points in the first half and only 8 in the second.

Yeah. The offense is not playing "complimentary football", haha. They have been underachieving all season. Yes, the injuries to the OL have been a big part of that. McVay always says it is execution. I have no doubt that there are plenty of issues there also.

But coaching has also been a problem. The fact that the Rams reinserted Jackson and Avila and then did not recognize that they were getting trucked until AFTER the game was ridiculous IMO.

not sure what is going on but in the last 3 games we are getting almost zero pressure on the QB.

This was the best pass blocking OL in the league and we did get pressures just one of the best running QB's in the game made us pay when we did. I'm very pleased with the effort in the run game. If we had at least one good CB this is a different game. Williams is now about even with Witherspoon on the year for being bad.

We got some pressure today, but as soon as we did, Allen took off an ran for big gains. His ability to do that can really fuck up a scheme and a gameplan, because if you keep him in the pocket he can kill you there too.

But yeah, the two weeks before that weren't great.
