Never know. They're young it might just take a little time for them to gel on the backend. Seems like a lot of miscommunication on broken plays
 
One more offseason this defense will be good to go. They're close. That front is a lot of fun to watch. Add a good corner we'll be looking real good. Just too many fuckups in coverage with this group.

And an above average LB. Kinchens is the ? mark. At times, he makes really good plays and then other plays he gets burned badly.

Yeah we expected to have to win a bunch of shootouts this year. I was not expecting a defense that can hold it's water while the offense keeps spilling it.

Speights has a way to go. But isn't it nice to have some hope at ILB.

Also I have to admit Rozeboom has been impressing me. The two of them together might be a solid tandem.

With as young and cheap the D is this year... They've got to take one more shot with Stafford next year.

The D front is just so much damn fun. Verse is just... EXACTLY what the team needed with Donald retiring. He's a beast, a difference maker, a tone-setter.. he's everything. I can't say enough about the young man.

There's a ferocity in this D and it is getting better.. I hope Speights has a sharp learning curve.. he's already looked better.. week-to-week.

The secondary could absolutely use a talent upgrade next season. If they nail that in the draft... look out.

The thing is it's not really "the secondary" but the CBs. We're loaded at safety. Curl, Kinchens, Lake, McCollough and JJ (who probably won't be here next year). Durant and D Will are decent. Wallace may improve in year 2. Nobody misses Tre Tomlinson and Kendricks, though I was never as down on DK as most.

And by the looks of the snap counts some are trending up, other down.

We're not loaded at Safety. We're loaded with box safeties.

This team still needs a deep middle prowler who's got eyes for the ball. I think a corner could put us over the top, so it's a greater need than the safety, but it's a shame Curl couldn't do that for us is all.

While I agree I'm not sure they'll add one of those or if they even want that type of player.
