We really missed Jack Rabbit last night

Lost in the mahem of last nights debacle was how bad JJ was missed. Sensabaugh was either beat or out of position against a reciever that was just signed this week in Curley. Furthermore, his tackling was atrocious. TJJ would consistantly break through WR blocks and make an outstanding open field tackle. He was also one of the "play makers" on D, capable of a pick 6. I understand the rationale of why he is no longer here, but we can question why we did not lock him up this time last year (similar to Austin and Brockers this year). The Cody Sensabaugh experiment is over. Gaines cannot get on the field fast enough

About that contract extension for Snead/Fisher...

I know that you are right, I was just dreaming out loud lol

Oh don't get me wrong, I think it is real loss to FB. There was a time where such movement after playing was more common and I do not think it is a good thing that that supply into the coaching ranks is being reduced.

Now I will say that I think the better coaches from the player ranks would be the ones that honed their craft over the guys who dominated with their physical skills. For example I would think that Bruce would be far better than Moss as a coach. Bruce was for many years considered the best route runner in the league. He worked hard to improve his catching and route skills and can pass that on. Moss dominated off being bigger, faster, and jumping higher. I am not sure that he could relate to the 5th round draft pick who is an average size and speed for a receiver and be able to show him how to elevate his game so that he stands out. Where Bruce may have tricks and training techniques he used that he could impart and use to help the kid Moss can't help the kid become amazingly fast or out jump everyone. Let me be clear that I am not saying Moss has nothing to teach, just that it would be harder for him to relate and is less likely to have a big of a bag of tricks as someone like Bruce.

Let's Have the Rubber Meet the Road EH? Goff

If Keenum couldn't or wouldn't audible outta all the short throws and call ONE FADE PATTERN...ONE BACK SHOULDER THROW...or just can't see guys open downfield...Man I don't know what else to say...He's not an NFL QB....Must be some super nice guy...But no way in hell he can beat out any QB in a real competition...he didn't beat out Mannion imo...Had Mannion took snaps last year, he may have beaten out Goff...Keenum can't even throw the damn ball anymore with steam on it...all floaters and timing and dimes...okay....some rant against arm strength all day....Give Keenum a cannon, and he'd probably be decent...He still has accuracy & timing issues....

Oh yeah.... @Dagonet

Can't wait till the rubber burns this damn road up....

Fisher fires Cignetti & hands the Job to Boras?

I don't think you have to be experienced to be a good OC. You have to be capable. Boras is likely not capable. I don't believe a whole lot of experience would help much.

Fisher likes him because everything is short and safe. Sooner or later they'll make a few plays, the defense will play well and they'll win a few games. Just like Fisher's 4 plus years tenure. The more things change the more they stay the same.

They are not a .500 team. They're not gonna improve much offensively if at all. The QB and receivers are among the worst in the league. The HC/OC isn't capable of adjusting to fit the talent. They are just what they've always been under Fisher. A team who struggles offensively with a better than average defense that needs to be elite if they want to win. They are not elite.

Someone Explain Our Offense To Me

Not sure why anyone would be surprised. We have had the same offense the last 4 years. It is pathetic and easy to predict. Fisher has no vision and should not be in the league. The sad part is that IF we get rid of him (should have canned him 2 years ago) we will have to retool and learn everything from scratch and more than that, we have given our 1st round pick next year away already for a QB that............(Different subject not going there)

I am embarrassed (again) to be a Rams fan

Coaching matters, huh? Lol...

"They" didn't make us one-dimensional, the Rams did by naming Keenum their starting QB. Sorry but there's very little credit to the 49ers in this one, they just needed to have enough guys on the field to not forfeit while the Rams sucked ass.

Lol, another team the Rams give a false sense of accomplishment. Now they think they have this great team only to find it was the opponent, not them. They'll be back to normal next game.

The good, the bad, the ugly, and what the **** is going on?!?!?!?!?!

I replied to a tweet last night, before the game, saying that what they should do on the first offensive play of the game was run a play-action fake, 80 yard bomb down the sidelines. If nothing else it would get them thinking.

Instead they came out with their game plan, which everybody knew was their game plan, and stuck with it. Even though they might as well have had the 49ers calling their plays, that's how obvious they were.

There may be some talent on the offensive side of the line, but it's not THAT good that it can overcome the other team basically knowing what play you are going to run.

That was just a terrible coaching job. Terrible. Even if Keenum muffs every deep throw then at least you can say "well, that's on the QB, it was a good strategy to open up some lanes for Gurley..." But to not even try, to just keep pounding the ball into a nine man front...

Rams Staff feel Goff Should Start

Worst thing is Snead was quoted this offseason as saying if they had Keenum in previous years they would have made the playoffs. He is subordinate to Fish, and thus part of the problem tbh.

The guy who needs to make a move if this team continues to field this BS offense is Demoff. That's the one who has the power to tell Stan it's time to make the change and set up for a new regime.
I agree Merlin... Demoff is Stan's right hand man and he would be the one that carries the big stick. I trust Demoff and have faith he will do whats best for the team. I'm sure there were some long conversations over breakfast this morning between Demoff and Kroenke.

Horizontal Football

The common thread thru all the OCs, assistant passing game coaches, whatever, is Fisher. Fisher believes in Martyball, the blend of power running and horizontal passing that was able to have good regular season success but always failed against better teams in the playoffs. So from the start it's a losing philosophy. Then you add that the gimmick of the west coast offense has mostly died out and now the most successful teams in the NFL mix their short passing with vertical pressure on a defense.

I am a Pac12 hater and never particularly liked Goff due to the air raid offense and bad defenses he faced in college, but nevertheless I was downright giddy when the Rams traded the farm to move up to take him. Because more than Goff himself, it seemed to be a clear signal -- combined with hiring Groh with his Gase background -- that maybe, just maybe, Fisher had changed his ways and was willing to entertain a more vertical concept. A terrible rookie making mistake after mistake but at least trying to push the ball downfield was going to be a 1000% improvement over awful Keenum employing Fisherball's ceiling of 7-9, because the vertical threat would open up the entire offense for Gurley and the short passing to be that much better.

Then when it became clear that the "Keenum's our starter" thing was more than just a stupid "earn it" motivational game by Fisher, the reality was a slap in the face. It has nothing to do with Keenum, because everyone knew what he is -- it was the signal that Fisher isn't going to change his stripes. Settling on a "game manager" QB because there's no better option and still maintaining you can win with him is admirable. *Wanting* a "game manager" QB because that's your preferred offense philosophy is simply inexcusable, and Fisher has run out of excuses.

That's essentially my point this off-season. And with the unlikely chance Fisher gets fired unless there is a spate of these blowouts... Jared Goff doesn't solve anything. Well, he can't fix the broken scheme or change who Fisher is. At least Wentz was a more complete product.

It's like going to the grocery store.

Fisher is like the parent who you KNOW ISN'T going to cook. Does it make more sense to buy the organic, free range chicken (Goff)? Or to get the Rotisserie chicken from the deli(Wentz)? In a chef's hands, that organic chicken, I'm certain could be AMAZING. Problem is...we don't have a chef.... Which leaves us with the likelihood of raw chicken for dinner. Mmm, salmonella...

We thought we could make due with the leftovers, but...seems they went bad. And for whatever reason, we can't have the Mannion patties. Guess we're saving them for company...

Maybe we'll get lucky, that chicken will get thrown on the grill and turn out great. But ask yourself...how often do bad cooks cook good food??? And just because they blow the budget on expensive, better quality ingredients, does that make them better chefs???

If Fisher were a chef or even a mom or dad deserving dinner, what got served last night not only wasn't edible, I'm pretty sure it was dangerous to one's physical, mental and emotional well being.

This isn't even about the QBs or the OL anymore... This scheme is moribund and I'm not sure Superman could save it.
