His thoughts on safety were very interesting.

In Hardy's day, without the protection around the head, defensive players were forced to hit with their shoulders. In today's game, many players lead with their head creating helmet-to-helmet contact that shocks the brain, leading to rampant concussions across the league.

"In my day, you might get a tooth knocked out or break your nose, but that all heals in a week or two," Hardy explained. "In today's game, they break their necks or they get concussions. In my mind, they need to take off that plastic thing on their head and put back on the leather headgear. Yeah, you're going to get a broken nose or one of your teeth knocked out, but you're not going to end up in a wheelchair."

Abandon Hope

The only people related to the conversation that deserve facepalms are the Rams coaches and players.

The fans are fed up. 2003 was the last time we had a winning season. I was a chubby faced seventh grader. Now I'm a college graduate. The world has changed a lot since the last time we were actually relevant (7-9 football isn't relevant football, sorry) When is enough going to be enough?

To continue the food metaphor, the Rams are like that super cool pizza joint that's hidden. The menu (roster) looks great. And it's ducking pizza.

But two hours later, you get explosive diarrhea and kill yourself from the noxious fumes that pizza created and right before the end you question all your life's choices.

That's the Rams.

Dude... exactly.

Schein with a EPIC rant

I didn't listen to the guy, but all I have to say about the game Monday night is that the Rams didn't look that bad at the end of the season last year. WTF happened between then and now ? It's the same offense we had last year minus Cook, so what gives ? We started with Foles and we beat Seattle. Ended with Keenum going 3-2 but at least we scored 2 to 3 TDs in each game. Monday was just horrible.

A look at Gurley and Keenum by downs

I agree that with a horizontal passing game being used as an extension of the run game, there is no point in throwing the ball, just run it. 3rd and forever, just run the dam ball. Get rid of the WRs, replace them with TEs. Replace the TEs on the Oline with Olinemen and run the dam ball, 1940s style baby, but with cooler uniforms. Get rid of the QB position and let Gurley take the direct snap to run it or hand it off to T Austin.
