TruJ to Jets

"Thought he'd be better" lmao. They overpaid for a CB2 who also happens to be the type of guy who might quit working once he gets paid. That one is all on the GM.

If I were the Jets' owner I'd clean house and reload everything to allow for building around Darnold. Start with a new GM. And as much as I like and respect Bowles they need to lock up an offensive mind who can coach up their QB, so a head coach change is appropriate there as well. IMO if they do those things and hit on the hires they could be on the upswing relatively quickly.

Are Todd Gurley and Aaron Donald the Best Offensive-Defensive Teammates Ever?

A team can accumulate depth and role players, but at the end of the day it's the stars, generational, foundational type players that you can build around that change the direction of a franchise.

Faulk, Bruce, Pace and Warner proved to be that for the GSOT, and Donald, Goff and Gurley are the cornerstones of the Rams current success. It may be premature, but if you look back at the 2014-2016 drafts, a person could make an argument, that three straight years, the Rams took the best player in the draft.

You forgot Torry Holt in that sentence.

Any photographers in here?

Juggs, you probably need to ask your boss how serious his lady friend is about photography.

My recommendation was based on getting your money worth.
You get a lot of camera for a grand these days.
If, as i expect, she may just be keen on some improved holiday/family photos from what a camera phone may offer then thought has to be given to the lens.

A so-called travel zoom might be an option.
Again, depending on the types of photography she will be doing, the lens is an important factor.
If she wants to photograph events then a longer lens may be required.
If she wants to take photos of family occasions then something like a 17-70 is an option.

Then there is the debate of prime(one fixed length, 50mm for example which doesnt zoom) or zoom lenses which cover a certain range, 17-70, 18-250, etc.

I use both zoom and prime, but favour prime lenses.

Just to buy a camera isnt quite as simple as it sounds. Especially as a gift.

Great advice IBruce,
Love the Pentax but I shoot film. I had one in college and have never looked back or forward for that matter (boo digital)
My old Rolle is fun for a quick shot too

* But i guarantee that this gal doesn’t know anything about photography if her boyfriend is buying the camera for her with a $1000 budget.

Juggs
Why not suggest your boss get her a low end medium format camera like the USSR special edition Kiev 88 and when he gives it to her watch her head explode

On paper, this looks like an elite type D, doesn't it?

Fans always overvalue their young players, with expectations of all of them working out or even being high end players, but most of them don't reach those lofty levels. Out of all our young LBs only one actually delivered, that being Littleton, and he's not delivering at an elite level yet.

Right now electronic Ramsdom is trying to get their heads around that. But the more appropriate question is out of all the subpar roster spots which is most important?

I actually am starting to feel like a high end safety would have the most impact. Certainly we need an ILB to replace Barron (his cap hit after the season drops to $2M), another edge rusher (two if they don't sign Fowler), NT, and a CB for depth at the least, but a safety who is big and instinctive and can switch it up run/pass might well have the biggest impact of all in this defense.

What if McVay Plays a Different Offense vs the Chefs?

I'm just going to drop a thread unspooled by Thread Reader:

Sean McVay is a genius. A thread detailing another reason why he's the best offensive coach in the league right now.

The Rams come out in a common formation of theirs - Bunch Rt 'X' Book. They're in this formation probably around 1/3 of their plays & they do so much off of it.

The Rams run a handful of plays off this same formation, and motion from the 'Ze' wide receiver. They run the Fly Sweep, Wide Zone Y-Sift, Wide Zone Weak, Screens off of the Fly Sweep and Wide Zone action, a multitude of play-action off it. Seattle knows this.

Seattle decides to defend this formation w/ an 'Over' front while rolling the Strong Safety down into the box over 'Z' receiver in the bunch and play 'Cover 3' behind it. They want to use the backside curl/flat player to play the fly sweep, and not move the LB's too much.

The Rams run the fake Fly Sweep, fake Wide Zone w/ the Y-Sift, and set up for play-action. Seattle is expecting this. The Rams show it every week and hit several chunk plays off it. But this week McVay added a twist too it, knowing how Seattle would play it.

With Seattle in 'Cover 3', the weak curl/flat player takes the fly sweep. The Rams use this to pull the curl/flat player out of a throwing window. He bites immediately w/ the chance that this is a fly sweep. The next great thing McVay does is put the 'X' WR on a "Read" route.

W/ the condensed formation, there's a good chance Seattle is going to play their corners off the line of scrimmage & w/ outside leverage. The "Read" route allows the 'X' WR to read the leverage of the corner. If he plays off & over the top = 20-Yd Stop route. Pressed & even = Go.

In 'Cover 3' the responsibility of the hook/curl players on play-action is to with the crossers. McVay knows this. As soon as the weakside hook/curl player sees the play-action he turns to the 'Z' WR, who he expects to try and run a crosser across the field. A common concept.

So McVay puts the 'Z' WR on a "Deep Whip" route. Meaning he runs like he is running a crosser to 15-Yds deep & puts his foot in the ground & either sits in the zone or returns if he's matched. The 'Z' has occupied both hook/curl players while the fly sweep occupied the curl/flat.

Commenters point out that McVay went into the wayback machine to pull up a Wing T play against the hawks:

A Look At Defensive PERSONNEL

With all do respect I'm not the one doing that neither of us know what truly goes on behind the scenes. And your right this team has made moves to try and improve in any way possible hence why I'm saying DURING THE BYE week this regime hopefully examines all options available going along with what I'm saying about just kicking the tires on anyone that could help especially bowman. With that being said your the one that is taking what I said and making it personal. Saying bowman is done and Wade hates or doesn't like linebackers that can't cover etc....those statements that are said like facts not opinions clearly we don't know who is done and who isn't hence "kick the tires" also asking me if Mcvey or Wade don't do it they are what not smart???? Whoever even said such a thing or mentioned anything even close???? All along all I keep saying is "I hope" or "id like" that's different so I respect it if you want the Rams to sit idle and do nothing that's an opinion. I also however expect someone to read what is written not read what they want to read. I'm not attacking you in any way shape or form it just didn't register.

But I respect most of your posts and you on point a lot of times I just want or hope every possibility is explored in football you truly never know when you will be back where we are and we have suffered enough. I know this team is built for now and the future but weird things happen like God forbid this year it was Kupp huge loss but we can still overcome but what if next year we rolling and it goff or Gurley Donald or our line takes a step back anything really. You just never know when you will have this chance again so I just want to maximize the here and now that's all. No hard feelings bud.
none of my replies are fact bro, just opinions, and definitely don't want you to think I have anything against you or anybody else on this forum. You just need to understand that if I say "This player is done or that player is still good" that's only my humble opinion. We can disagree on said player without making it personal. Up to this point I don't think it has become personal, just 2 different opinions.
