Angry Ram's Angry Ranks Week 13

Has Todd Bowles been a good DC before? I know nothing of this man's career.

I also get most of my football news here, so if he was good, and you guys didn't say something... It's your fault I don't know about it.

He was pretty good in Arizona.

What are the odds the Panthers blow it enough and Rivera becomes available?

Doubt it. Even if he does Ron has been pretty successful and would get a HC job easy.

Bob Seger is still bad ass

I suppose we could put Billy Joel in this mix..........but he's not a rocker like Seger.

Sounds of the Game: Relive the historic Monday Night Football win

Man - fucking Goff.
Seriously, thank you Les Snead, and you to, Jeff Fisher, for having the balls to go after him.
Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY (they can backtrack all they want, but all the pundits look like the idiots they are now), "mortgaged the franchise", "gave up way too much", "titans huge winners"... ad nauseum.

And that was before he played a game. Then he was put in on a clueless team, with dysfunctional coaching, and we all know the result.
We also all know what the conventional wisdom was, and they can all try to walk it back as much as possible, and/or deflect with the 'it's McVay", "he's a system QB", "great Oline", "Todd Gurley", "great receivers", and all the other bullshit narrative all they want, but as the saying goes, "the heart feels, but the eyes see true".

Am not an NBA fan at all, but know enough to know Kobe was known as the Black Mamba.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to the White Mamba.

Jaguars OC Nathaniel Hackett fired - plus the Battle of the Bortles

There's a path for Bortles to be a free agent soon. People remember the salary dump/trade of Brock Osweiler to the Browns?

Should the Raiders trade for QB Blake Bortles to gain a draft pick?

If how we’re playing and how I’m playing is trash, then I’m fine with being trash.

The WR Corp has come a long way

Woods ran a 4.51 so you describe him here very well. His route running is excellent and he has great hands.

Not to mention he isn't afraid of the middle of the field which is a spot McVay likes to punish..........and Woods is a really good downfield blocker. This team hasn't had a good downfield blocker since Bailey and before that Bruce.

Two, but still the first year of work was excellent for sure.

Good as the receivers are they would not be the same without Goff. Imagine our receiving corps with any number of other NFL qbs and you would not get the same result.

McVay/Kromer presser 11/28/18

Did Gruden forget about his old protege Mcvay?

NFC Battle for Final 3 SPOTS!!

Rams
NO
Bears
Dallas 10-6 win division
Wash 9-7 wildcard (easiest last 5 games)
Seattle 9-7 wildcard
Panthers 9-7
Vikings - 8-7-1

I would be surprised to see the Skins get in even with their sched being easier. Losing their QB like they did... Even those easy games become not easy.

I'm expecting Saints / Rams / Bears / Seahawks / Cowboys / Vikings in some order. And all three of those wildcard teams are capable of knocking off a division winner so don't really care who we draw. Rams just gotta show up and ball out on both sides of the ball and if they do they're fine.

Eye-popping chart shows how often Rams run jet sweeps

I think it includes both no?

We should find out..........
Nah, our WRs have 26 rushing attempts between them and adding in the tap passes and the jet sweeps that Gurley has done, that'd put us at about 35 jet sweeps as the chart says. I'd estimate that we do about 3 fake jet sweeps for every actual, but that's just a guess.

It's all just a means to keep the defense guessing and confused and another evolution of what Rob Boras started in 2015 with Tavon/Gurley and mysteriously discontinued. Boras was only scratching the surface and used it exclusively with the run game iirc. Which goes into another odd thing Fisher did in 2016, separating the passing game coordinator and run game coordinator. Stupid.

McVay has molded it into another facet of both the run game and play action passing game, another instrument to make every play look the same until it doesn't and by then it's too late for the defense.

R.Foster Released and signed by Skins

The difference between NFL players and the plumbers, CPAs, bartenders, teachers, deli workers, mechanics and every other profession in everyone's town is there are a very small number of people that can do the NFL job up to standard. The crime rates are actually less in the NFL (they should be, no surprise there). To single out one profession and say someone should not be able to earn a living based on accusation (at this point) is silly as hell and will always end up being hypocritical. No amount of grand standing (probably faux) moral outrage is going to change anything.

When you look at his past history of legal problems and this new charge, I refer to the old saying where there is smoke there is fire. The profession I was in for 30 years, before retiring, would have let me go long ago after the first arrest.

The Eagles still don't have a quality win

I pounded the table for Goff coming out of college after watching both QB's college tape.

Goff was your ideal pocket passer with ridiculous accuracy throwing dimes all over the field.
Wentz was a more physical player that won by using his legs too much for my liking.

When it was clear the Rams were going to draft one of these guys I started to watch more tape on both of them. The one thing that stood out the most to me was when the protection broke down and they had to scramble. Wentz was quick to just tuck it and run. It served him well as he picked up yards with that. Goff on the other hand, Always seemed to keep his eyes downfield looking for a receiver. He only ran if there wasn't an open receiver. That is what swayed me towards Goff.

In college you like those guys who can run and pick up first downs. Tebow was great as a college quarterback with that. But in the NFL you want guys who would extend the play and makes the play with his arm. Goff is that kind of quarterback.
