RIP Eddie Money

Was never a huge fan, but when he came to play at my work I was really impressed by how large his catalogue was and by how good he still delivered the songs. He had his daughter along for the tour to help keep him in line and sober, and was extremely candid about his cocaine and alcohol addictions. His stories were very endearing and I have been waiting for his return, which will sadly never happen.
RIP Eddie Money

The End of Brees

Drew Brees not expected to hit IR after thumb surgery today, Asshole Face says

SEATTLE — New Orleans Saints veteran quarterback Drew Brees will have surgery to repair a torn ligament in his thumb of his throwing hand this afternoon, according to coach Asshole Face.
The surgery will be performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Steven Shin, the hand specialist Brees saw for his first consultation. Payton said the Saints are optimistic, declined to give a timetable for his return. He also said that the team does not plan to place Brees on the injured reserve as of right now.

"We'll look at that each week as we go," Payton said of the possibility of injured reserve.
Brees injured his thumb Sunday in the Saints' loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He left the game in the first half and did not return. The injury, a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), is common for athletes and hinders the ability to grip.

In sports injuries, the UCL, which is located in the area where the thumb meets the hand, usually tears quickly due to a fall. It’s also known as "skier’s thumb" because of its prevalence in that sport.
It's the most notable Brees injury since he missed a Week 3 game in 2015 vs. the Carolina Panthers because of a rotator cuff injury. That's the only start he's missed to injury dating back to high school.
Payton said having the experience of preparing for that game without Brees is 2015 can be helpful in this situation as well.

Backup Teddy Bridgewater played the rest of the game against the Rams, but Payton said on Wednesday that he's not going to announce the starter for the Week 3 contest against the Seattle Seahawks.

"We'll coach this game with two quarterbacks, then we'll see where we're at with the right plan relative to what those guys are going to be doing," Payton said.
Brees has been in the league since 2001 and has been with the Saints since 2006. In those 19 seasons, Brees has become the NFL's all-time leading passer and the league's career leader in passes completed. He's earned 12 Pro Bowl distinctions, and has been the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year twice and the Super Bowl MVP.

Eric Weddle on The Rich Eisen show

He is! His name is Taylor Rapp !! :p
Ha! Love that. Rapp is quickly becoming a fan favorite. It’s cool. My nephew is Chinese-American like him and basically plays the same position in high school, -a linebacker/rover role, so he is kind of an inspiration. We are Irish so my sister calls her kids “Chirish” Maybe it’s not too late to get that kid to drop the Eagles and become a Rams fan. :sneaky:

CJ Anderson Cut. Should we ponder?

Bad News...Rams just lost a Compensatory 4th Round pick in 2020!
IE. the Rams' loss of UFA CJ Anderson cancelled out the Rams signing of UFA Clay Mathews, leaving us getting two 4th Round Compensatory Picks for 2020 covering Ram UFA losses of Rodger Saffold and Lamarcus Joyner.

BUT NOW....
With CJ Anderson being cut so early in the season, his value is negated, so now the Rams loss of UFA Lamarcus Joyner is cancelled out by the Rams signing of UFA Clay Mathews.....

So per overthecap.com, Los Ramos are now only getting the ONE 4th Round Compensatory Pick for losing UFA Rodger Saffold.

Detroit really screwed us by cutting CJ Anderson sportsfans!!

Rams Knock Out Brees, And Who Else?

With Bees' thumb getting messed up by high fiving AD, and maybe ending his season, it got me to thinking that's not the only QB Rams have sidelined. Over the years I can think of a few more, Wentz and Palmer come to mind and I'm pretty sure there are more.

Not sure thats such a good statistic, like to know who else they've put on the sideline.
Any QB that played for the Cards

Thoughts on our OL currently

Paying all these backs and receivers big dough took away talent from the o-line. Never understood paying all that money to Woods and Cooks let alone Gurley. Should have payed Woods and not bothered with Cooks.

Although o-line is the one position where players can be coached up. Hope that is true with our Rams.

If you look at the Pats, they don't spend their money on OL. Other than Stephon Gilmore, they haven't had any top shelf contracts of any kind in a long while.
