Once again put it on the D’
Yeah when we drafted Avila, people liked that he was a guard/center hybrid and there was little criticism here when the decision was announced he’ll move to center.Accurate I think. But even understanding hindsight being 20/20 it's fair criticism to question the plan.
Now granted I wasn't against the plan so not trying to take a victory lap here or anything. I figured if they felt Avila could play Center they had a good chance to be right. But I expect when the Rams do a lessons learned on this past FA season they're gonna nuke it as they should. It's one thing to move guys around, but as it pertains to signing big ticket players in FA you should be certain that specific spot is a need.
All that aside there is a sense of irony that they finally prioritize the OL and then find a late round gem at Center. Kind of funny, in a good way.![]()
He was covering Scary Terry when they played Washington recently. He’s solid. It will be interesting to see how he and Cooper Dejean match up against Kupp and Puka.Mitchell is a product of a good DB group. He’s playing amazing, but he’s not covering teams number 1 receivers. I expect him to have some struggles against either Puka or Kupp.
Verse is absolute dominant against whoever is in front of him. He made Trent fucking Williams look average
No.What are you saying? That they should focus on the OL and the QB until those positions are top 10?
They nailed the Dotson evaluation.Rams would be the first to admit this past FA haul was bad I am sure. Behind closed doors of course. I think the offseason overall was a strong continuation of what is a rebuild. Last year's team getting as far as they did was vets carrying them, and one of those vets retired.
But of course had the FA haul been strong we'd probably be a game or three ahead in the standings. So I don't see anything wrong with the Rams getting the criticism on this year's haul.
For next year's FA group I think they need to apply their rule set they have been using in the draft, in going after top end mentality. And you have to pay a bit more for it too I am sure, but it's worth it. I mean imagine if Evans was in this offense holy shit. It still would have sucked early on without a better OL plan, but that could have been done better too. Either way what I like about McVay and Snead is they are undoubtedly harder on their self grades than any of us are. And that is why they are so good at what they do.
It's like a combo of counter and long trap.Traps have been around a looooong time.
Really hope the Rams show well on the interior vs Philly. I think they might be able to run the ball on these fuckers if they can seal Carter.
Years ago I heard a quip that said, if you order a peanut butter sandwich it can mean different things:Yes, that is very typical New England! Carriage is also another one here.
Thats also like Soda to Pop, to everything being Coke. Ive heard all 3.
Nobody wants a team that limps into the playoffs. So If the Rams are deserving of a playoff berth they either win the division or run the table (with room for 1 more loss). We control our own destiny. It falls to us to do the winning.
52-6 loss, should have been fired before the game endedand the same for McCarthy and Dabol
ya I was soooo mad when we passed on Creed. Pounded the table for him, got excited when our bid rolled around & he was available & we're finally gonna fix that gaping hole at Center, and then..."YOU BASTARD!!"
Creed Humphrey.
@Loyal
After watching the Cowboys perform, I think Jerrah might have hired somebody to loosen some bolts in hopes of postponing the game. "I can't lose to the only other Texas team, so Bubba...climb on up there with your wrench and loosen a couple of those hinge plate bolts"Cowboys already down 14-0.
More Tutu and TE pleeeeeeaaaaasssse!! I like keeping defenses guessing. Can’t wait for Avila to knock the rust off and get Hav back. I want to see a dominating run game by end of season.Couple quick thoughts on the NE game....
The silly defensive penalties are not acceptable.
Hoeght has become a valuable member of the D rotation. He has now blocked two kicks this year that were big plays. In is very solid in every phase except coverage.
Speights is up and down, which is to be expected. I like Reeder and would be open to resigning him for what he is.....a depth/ST player. Speighs has take that spot for good this year.
The Rams pass rush is forcing teams into check down passing games, like they did when Donald was doing his thing. This is why there are so many underneath passes to TEs against this D. The Rams D held Stephenson to under 4 ypc. The Rams appear to have hit this draft out of the park as well.
I would bring in a kicker to push Karny a bit. Don't want him replaced or anything, but, 26 yard field goals in good weather cannot be missed.
It was refreshing to see McVay have the guts to go back to Limmer at C. I was surprised by that move and think it certainly is the right move at this time.
McClendon was good Sunday......not everyone can play every spot. As much as he does not look like a LT, he certainly looks like a RT.
Feel better that Havenstein doesn't have too be rushed back too soon after Sunday.
Tutu did some good work Sunday clearing stuff out underneath for the other guys.
Good to see Parkinson get in on the scoring finally.
Rams need to tighten up some things for sure, but, its no surprise when the OL has a good game so does the entire team.
Thanks to The Rams & Holmes he has The Best RT in The NFL.Of course they had to resign him to a Big Contract. He is blessed with protection for 4 more years.Goff is playing at a high enough level he can likely play as long as he wants to.
they sure got a boat load for him though. Gibbs,LaPorta,J. Williams,J.Pascal,B.Martin,Ifeatu.Penei Sewell was NOT drafted with one of the picks Detroit acquired in the Stafford trade.
