TE Kendall Blanton, DB Jake Gervase, WR JJ Koski placed on Covid/reserve list

The Rams have a Monday Night game so an Extra Day off is not what will hurt. The big question mark will be who has it & if any key player will miss any games? The Niners lost there starting WR & might have lost the game because of it.
Yeah but McVay already gave them an extra day off as a reward. The first day is usually film review (?) so maybe they didn't lose too much. Luckily, our key players aren't affected.

Locking down a Private Conver.

I am going to close this thread.

To all; the operators of this website are fans like you. We do this for fun.

Mods and Admins do NOT read or have access to private messages. If I had a reason to do as suggested by the OP... does that sound like fun? Why wouldn’t we just ban the member?

We don’t do stupid shit here. We might ACT stupid at times...

But dammit, we are real people. Just like every member here. We just happened to throw together a website. And we aren’t dicks. Our jobs as mods are needed, but I can assure you we want to just post like a normal member.

So, let’s leave baggage where baggage belongs and get back to hanging out.

Marooned on a Ghost Ship with Cannibal Rats

A wave of terror rushed over him as he quickly scanned the long passageways to his left and right. “This isn’t real. Zombies don’t exist”, he thought, as his mind began to flash gory scenes from one movie after another of undead creatures gnawing on limbs and feasting on entrails. As a self-proclaimed horror-movie aficionado, he knew the difference between a zombie attack victim and a victim of a serial killer. Serial killers don’t eat people, they kill for sport. Real or not, he was looking at a body laying in a pool of blood, partially dried by the sun, that had been eaten. EATEN.

It didn’t take long to convince himself that all the theories of scientifically engineered viruses were not only probable, but were now a reality. His mind began racing as he drew upon his experience as an avid spectator in zombie apocalypses. Surely this counted as preparatory training. He knew what to do. He needed a weapon - preferably something sharp that could pierce the skull - and layers of clothing to keep their rotting teeth from penetrating his flesh. His mind raced faster and faster as he realized he had none of these things and there were no doors nearby that spawned weapons or overcoats like in the movies. He panicked as he continued to scan the passageways left and right, left and right, until he looked down upon the body again and saw something else. Something he had missed in his haste to prepare for a battle with an army of the undead. There were no signs of a struggle. The man’s clothes were clean, his cheap gift-shop Panama hat was still resting on his head, and the entire left side of his body was still in-tact. No bites, no blood, no bruises, no scratches. Nothing. Even the right side wasn’t so bad now that he had looked closer. It was as if it had been raked by a huge cheese grater. Disgusting, yes, but there weren’t organs laying on the floor or severed limbs laying about. “Zombies”, he said in a mocking tone to himself. “Fuck sakes, man. Calm down. There’s an explanation for this.”

He regained his composure as the thought of having to actually face a zombie was erased. He had a new appreciation for the horrified people on screen, screaming and running for their lives now as well. “ Shit. I guess I’d freak out too”, he thought, as he realized he wasn’t as brave or strategically gifted in the art of apocalyptic war as he once thought. Shrugging off the shame of being so afraid, as if it never happened, it was now time to play detective; for he had no shortage of experience in that arena. He had seen countless movies and knew that he now had to be meticulous and methodical as he further investigated the scene. Yes, this was much more in his wheelhouse. He wasn’t afraid. It was just adrenaline, and adrenaline makes you do stupid things. He was just bracing for battle. Yes. That’s what it was. If he had actually found that weapon, things would have been much different. He’d clear that ship easily.

.....

.

Your turn.
(I took out “nude” because it didn’t fit my narrative, and I hope ... not yours)
He moved from the deck to a nearby ladder/stair heading up to the pilot house. He climbed and reached the top and saw open passage near the guard rail, with overturned chairs on the deck. He turned right toward the door of the pilot house, he saw an old fashioned life preserver with the name "Orlova" stencilled on it. The name was familiar but didn't know why. He opened to door and stepped inside. It had stations with brass instruments but with foreign words and a foreign alphabet that he didn't understand. The steering wheel moved a little, back and forth. The rain started to fall hard outside. He moved near the forward windows and looked down for the body on the deck.
It was gone.
Where there had been the sound of wind and rain outside, he heard a strange sound behind him. He couldn't place the sound at first. It was like the gnashing of teeth? He looked down and saw a huge rat. It moved slowly and mechanically toward him. He could see that one of its eyes was missing along with flesh from its side. Its lone eye was white and looked like a doll's eye. The nasty thing looked dead and yet it moved. He wound up as though he was kicking a field goal and kicked it hard. The thing bounced against the glass , leaving a blacked smudge, as it fell to the deck with a dull thud. For a moment it lay on its back, still. But then, it rolled over and pointed toward him again, moving as before. Slowly, gnashing its teeth...

Darious Williams!

Darious Williams is the perfect complement to Ramsey.

With Ramsey shutting down the #1 option, Williams being the ballhawk that he is allows him to really make a difference in games.

I dunno what it will take to retain him, but we should do whatever we can to try.

With the cap contracting and so many teams like the Saints, Eagles and others so far over the cap, I don't think guys on winning teams will be wise to "shop around". Better to wait out the cap of '21 and look for that money in '22 if at all possible.
I agree with you.

If you are right then the Rams Org better get Free Agent Darious Williams tied up under contract for a long term contract ASAP. The good is an RFA like DW will cost close to a near $5 million if tendered @ the highest amount. Hopefully, then the Rams Org. can use the time from this tender to prepare a long term contract for DW.

Why utilize the most expensive tender is to ensure that DW remains a Ram with the highly probable losses of starting DB's John Johnson III & long time Ram Troy Hill.

I do not think the Rams can afford the losses of all three starting DB's (Hill/ Johnson / Williams) in 2021. The CB unit's #4 corner is David Long & the Rams do not have a bona-fide 5th corner. The safety unit is in better condition as far as talent level & the number under contract. Keeping in mind the Rams only have four 2021 draft selection at this point in time

Akers, Jefferson and Snaps

I think Akers usage last week (more carries then Hendo) was more of a safety measure for Hendo who was coming off of an injury. I could be wrong, but, I bet we see more Hendo then Akers on Monday. As for the lack of a deep threat, I really believe that Jefferson can be that deep threat. In the Senior Bowl he was clocked at like a 4.3 speed with the trackers they wear. I know he didn't run a 40, so we don't know for certain, but the dude can fly. Add to that he runs crisp routes. I'd like to see him utilized in that area more in the 2nd half of the season.

Time To Give Props To Josh Reynolds!!!

the weird thing is that when they showed his college highlights he was always going up and getting the ball. he seems allergic to that now.

.

Exactly, he hasn't been able to translate that physical play that he exhibited in college. Which is not uncommon.
I expect him to have a decent season as our #3 WR and some team will come along and over pay him. He'll go to a suck ass team as a #1 or #2 WR and completely disappear. Sucks but that's the life of an average WR on a good team.

Andy Benoit All-22 Breaks down Defensive call vs Seahawks

Everyone keeps touting Brady and forgets Arians ALWAYS prepares differently for the Rams. Other than Shanahan, Arians is the most adept at attacking a defense's weaknesses.

To me and most Bucs fans, the key is whether or not Ali Marpet escapes concussion protocol. Weakness on the offensive line limits every offense and they are immensely better with Marpet active. This matchup is, to me, the greatest litmus test of Staley's scheme

All NFL teams to operate in COVID-19 intensive protocol starting Saturday

With COVID-19 infection rates rising rapidly throughout the country, the NFL announced that starting on Saturday all 32 teams will operate for the rest of the season under the league's intensive protocol.

That calls for, among other restrictions, all players and coaches must have a negative from the previous day's testing before entering the facility, in addition to regular daily PCR testing, all meetings being held virtually unless they can be held outdoors or indoors with a pre-approved plan, and for face masks being worn at all times at the facility, including on the practice field by all personnel. All meals must be served in grab and go style to prevent people from congregating in meal rooms. Locker room use is strongly discouraged on non-game days.

The protocol also prohibits team or player gatherings away from the facility, a particularly important prohibition with Thanksgiving next week.

"The upcoming holidays, beginning with Thanksgiving next week, will introduce new risks of exposure that we need to address now," Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote in a memo to teams Wednesday, obtained by NFL Media. "Because we have a highly sophisticated program of daily testing, we know when the virus enters our facilities, which underscores the importance of contact tracing and other steps to minimize close contacts within a facility. Recent experience has highlighted the importance of minimizing high-risk close contacts; on multiple occasions, we have seen individuals identified on that basis test positive within a short time. We have also seen many instances in which effective action by clubs to minimize these close contacts prevented the virus from spreading within the club, and avoided players or coaches being ruled out of practice or games."

Until now, the intensive protocol, which was introduced on Oct. 1, was reserved for teams that had positive tests or had been exposed to a team with positive tests. Twenty-eight teams have been in the intensive protocol at some point this season and many have voluntarily adapted some of the restrictions. Since the intensive protocol was put in place and a subsequent mandate calling for a five-day isolation period for identified as "high-risk close contacts" of a player or coach who tested positive, the NFL has been able to eliminate widespread outbreaks like the one suffered earlier this season by the Tennessee Titans, which caused a significant disruption to the schedule. The NFL has played all games on schedule for the last five weeks.

Covid 19 thread

After much consideration, and deliberation with the admins here, it’s probably best to just lock this thread and the Climate change thread, because they no longer serve as informative discussions. They’re actually quite divisive now. Probably my fault, but I claim prima noctae, and can bang your women legally.

Looking ahead at this roster

Floyd is already making 10mil. I dont think we can resign him. Especially with the cap dropping next season. I believe with what one poster reported, with what is expected, the rams will have to trim over 20mil just to be under the cap. Floyd looks better than Fowler did, his run stopping is far better. But just as fowler flourished here, I think Floyd is too.

Williams will be a needed signing. Im sure they will put a 2nd round tender on him.

We will have to let Reynolds and Everett walk. Hopkins will need to step up as well as Jefferson.(I would like to see a hell of a lot more of him)

I dont know shit about the draft scouting like guys like @Memento do. I look forward to see who he thinks will be there for us.

I have complete faith in this front office...except for the fucking kicking mystery.

20 Random Getting Defensive Thoughts

3. TE play. Goff overthrew Higbee on a shot we took on third and 4 (I believe) to put the Hawks away in the 4th quarter. I liked the call as we were up by 10 and had the game in the bag. Goff was just barely off the mark, though it does appear Higbee slowed down the route just a tad.
I think Higbee slowed down a lot on that throw. If Higbee doesn't slow down, that was a TD.
