Peter King: 1/7/19

True, but we were still the #2 in scoring regardless of that. Converting more would make us #1 of course. But many teams ranked ahead like Buffalo did not have as many opportunities to score as we did.

I gave you examples of teams like the Saints and Steelers that are in the red zone a lot. No matter how you slice it the Rams are failing to get a TD in the red zone 43% if the time. That's a lot for a high powered offense. It`s the playoffs. We saw how the defenses stepped up this weekend. I just want to see the Rams get TDs and hold the Cowgirls to FGs.

Defense Wins Championships?

Confidence is a misnomer for the most part.
Who knows what happens best year?
To me you have to try and win playoffs games once you make the playoffs.
Where does Flacco end up?
Denver probably.
I just think Flacco checked out this year once Lamarr got drafted so I don’t know how much better Flacco would have looked tbh. I think the biggest problem was they didn’t trust Jackson to throw the ball until it was too late. He has a lot of work to do in the offseason that’s for sure

I would say Denver or Jacksonville.

The Curse of a Salary Cap–Eating Quarterback

See, now that is something entirely different than taking a "paycut" as you originally stated, and you are incorrect. He has passed up millions while signing his extensions. You can read the CBS article linked above to see just how much he has been paid compared to other QBs since 2013. He could have earned just as much as Brees or Manning, but he took less than he could have earned. That is exactly what a hometown discount is.
Not really. Brady has averaged $11 million per year over his career. Rodgers, $14.5, Rivers $13.4, P. Manning $13.7, Flacco, $13.3, Ryan, $16.1. So when did he take less money? You also have to remember he has been playing 5 years longer and those first two years were less($372,000) because he was a 6 round pick.

Well the Rams don't have to worry about beating the Seachickens three times this season.

Thought I would give you guys a little chuckle on this topic.

2004 I moved up to the Seattle area amongst the seachicken fans. The group I worked with were rabid fans and when the Rams played them in Seattle the Rams were getting rocked for most of the game. My cellphone was blowing up as many of my crew were at the game. Every time seattle scored my phone went nuts. Enter the 4th quarter and the Rams mount a comeback. Rams score phone quiet, Rams score again phone quiet Rams win in overtime and low and behold half of the employees called in sick. So the next night as I am prepping the crew for the night it was real quiet. I says to the group for three quarters my phone seemed to work fine and something happened to it in the fourth as it stopped working or did the seahawks choke? Very quiet evening at work LOL/

Now fast forward to getting a new GM that called me in to promote me. I am wearing my suede rams jacket with small logo on the front big ass logo on the back. The GM was complimenting me on my work ethic and was very pleased to offer me a promotion. All good and very happy with me until I got up to walk out of his office. I will quote him: Steve if you ever wear that jacket on my office again I will fire you on the spot. I said sorry boss won’t happen again lol.

The GM was transferred to another location and a couple of months later (seahawks rams playoff game in Seattle) I transferred to the new location. I started the very night the Rams beat them for a third time. I walked on the door and the boss met me as I walked in and said do not say an effing word or I will fire you. I didn’t say a word. Didn’t have too.Rams had beaten them for the third time that year and did not need to say a thing.

My first year in that area and the Rams almost got me fired LOL!

I'm a Ram fan living in Cowboy Land.

They really have turned things around in Dallas. It's almost like watching two different teams. Getting Cooper has made the difference along with playing LVE. Jaylon Smith is all over the field with his speed.

The key to stopping the Cowboy offense is forcing the Dak Prescott into bad decisions. Rams defense must pressure Prescott. The 2018 Cowboy offensive line isn't as good as the 2016 version. So our Rams need to apply heavy pressure on Prescott because Dak makes bad decisions when he's hurried. You don't need to sack Dak. Just hurry him and he will short out Cowboy drives. The Cowboys offensive line HOLDS more these days then in the past but will the refs call it? One more thing- Because of the offensive line woes the Cowboy Red Zone offense pales compared to the Boy's offense between the 20's. Dak hasn't settled on a favorite Red Zone receiver.

Agree Dak can make bad decisions when hurried.

ummmm...went thru that 20k pretty quick sir, any chance "system" can float me another?

I swear I got a line on a winner next weekend

Seahawks at Cowboys

I kind of want the Bears.

The revenge factor I think is huge and seeing that D a second time at home as opposed to away in 20 degree weather will make a difference. And I don't fear the Bears offense as much as I would with Elliot and even Prescott, who can make a play here and there.

The Bears will also have a short turnaround playing Sunday and then next Saturday. By comparison the Cowboys going from Saturday to next Sunday against the Saints get a full 7 off days between games whereas the Bears against the Rams only get 5 off days between games.

So I like that from the respect of Dallas getting 2 extra days to prepare for the Saints and the Bears having a short week and then traveling out west to face the Rams.

NFL Refs Set Record For Most Penalties Called In A Season

That dude gets a crap eating grin on his face whenever he has to signal a foul that show off his muscles. I imagine his crew calls a pretty fair game because he'll call a penalty on smile so he can display his muscles.

Lol, true story. My old boss a few years ago had a daughter who dated his Ed Hochuli's son. I think his name is Brian. He was a Pac 12 ref at the time. My boss told me his daughter broke it off with him because he was so conceited. When they would get together all he wanted to do was play video of him reffing games and talk to her it about it.

Was Carson Wentz a 1st round pick because being a system QB in college?

True. However the BIG benefit for Wentz is the NFL's main problem with the QBs coming out of college which is "THEY CAN'T READ DEFENSES"! Wentz could! Which is why the Eagles were so quick to let Bradford go...because Wentz was able to read defenses and audible plays on his own...so sure, Wentz had talent on the offense...but more than that his IQ was way more than they expected! We see it all the time where college QBs line up the offense and have to wait on the coordinators to change the play them.

Think about what came out on Goff as a rookie in camp. Goff was having a hard time simply understanding plays...and the fact that Fisher was coach didn't help him.

My point is colleges running spread offenses hurt the QB development. That's the NFL talking...not me!
I agree that Wentz had a head start coming from a NFL style program, but he would have looked pretty lousy playing in Fisher's offense. This is proved out not just by Goff, but Keenum and Foles. Foles wanted to quit! The Eagles figured out what he did best in the first few games he started last season and won a super bowl with him. He started good the first couple of games starting for the Rams and fell apart and got benched with the rams. So no mater having a head start, my opinion is that with the proper environment even these kids coming out with no experience in the huddle or reading defenses can play well if they have the right talent, attitude and smarts.
