That's just it. It doesn't matter if the whiners find their qb of the future. Their trade for Lance hurt them for the last couple of years. Who knows if that impact player, or players, they didn't draft would have been enough to put them over the top and win the superbowl.

Anudike is a hell of a player too. His suddenness is really something. I don't know that I'd complain about whatever they do the rest of the way if they get a guy like him at the top.

I like Mingo just not sure I wanna go WR in the 3rd.

Not at all. The cushioning for the most part is an improvement over the literal carpet they used to play on.

The issue isn’t cushioning, it’s the right level of failure of the grass roots. Too easy to fail and the grass is slippery like in the Super Bowl. Too little failure and cleats get stuck and joint injuries happen.

The biggest problem with artificial turf is that between a knee getting blown out or the turf failing and throwing a chunk of sod, it’s always gonna be the knee because it literally can’t throw a chunk of sod. Because artificial turf cannot fail in the way that grass does, all that is xtra load or torsion or torque is applied to bones and joints and ligaments…

Quite a euphemism there for "blowing up."

They fail no matter where they're drafted. In fact, 1st round QBs, given the expectation of 1st round value, cost a team more when they fail then a 4th round or lower QB. And they fail quite often.

I wouldn't be in favor of any QB at #36 except the kid from Florida. But chances are pretty good, none of the top 5 will make it out of the first round.

That one is in line with value.

AD's extension was borderline extortion. Maybe he can play up to its value (if anyone could it would be him).

I’ll never be able to comprehend the advanced complex mindset of McSnead. But my take on their current strategy is:
1) The Rams are keeping a handful of cornerstone players they believe are key to success for the next 2+ years and not paying those that are not needed.
2) The Rams are going to flood their roster with cheap young talent. And see how many are worth retaining beyond 2023.
3) The Rams are setting themselves up to be very active participants in trades and FA next year to fill in the gaps.
4) Rams will not tank but realize items 1-3 will limit their success in 2023. But give them a great opportunity for success in 2024 and beyond.

I like Copeland. Think he is a good, versatile back-up defensive lineman.

Nice guy to have on the roster. Provided he is not playing more than 25% of the snaps.

However, the fact that Copeland was one of the 3 or 4 players selected to speak to the media on the first day of off-season workouts is a clear reflection on the dearth of talent on the current Rams' roster.

Yes, they will fill-out the roster. In fact, I bet the Rams draft or sign somewhere between 25-30 players (at a minimum) in the next ten days. Unfortunately, only three or four will be top-100 players in next week's draft. The rest will be late round picks and undrafted free agents.

Maybe ... if the Rams are smart in their talent evaluations and decisions ... half-a-dozen will turn-out to be good players. That's just not enough to field a good roster in 2023, in my opinion. I am hoping for some second-phase free agents but I don't see much cap space right now to get that done.

Same. He seems like a great person but I want more dogs out there at wideout. Guys who are gonna battle. It's not a size thing, more an attitude thing that we need for that room. That and some more speed.

If the Rams are thinking wideout that addition better be that type of player. Otherwise just trade down a bit, go get a TE (there are some feisty fuckers among them) and start plugging holes.

Yeah I suspect he freelanced a bit too much for Morris' liking. We'll never know the truth of it because we don't know what the calls were when we watch the tape, but he has a tendency going way back to act like it's someone else's fault and sometimes it feels like he's overselling it.

Like when he hit Rapp in the huddle that time. Could be that he was at fault. But if so he's the superstar so he gets away with it and everyone assumes Rapp was wrong. We of course will never know.

All this stuff aside it's not a bad thing for him to go to a new team where he has to prove himself again. Sometimes that shakeup can help the player and the teams in question.
