What's on your Draft Day Menu ?

My chilli is almost done. I like to cook the chilli meat sauce for 4+ hours without beans.

As it gets within 1hr… I add the beans. The beans I simmer in chicken broth for an hour or two prior to adding.

I’ll combine these soon. The meat sauce has been cooking 5hrs. Beans over an hour simmering.

How did your draft menu item turn out?

Best Left for 2nd

I also think Richardson is worlds better than Lance. Richardson's throwing motion alone is vastly superior. He throws a very nice ball, actually. But going at 4 was a shocker.

Richardson very well might be Trey Lance, but he could also be Patrick Mahomes, except more athletic than Mahomes. Richardson might be the most gifted quarterback to go into the NFL since Cam Newton on draft day, maybe even moreso, considering his athletic gifts and what he can do with his right arm.

One thing I do like about Richardson; he wants to work hard and seems like he has a great attitude… Guys like that usually find success.

Snead & McVay discuss Day 2 ...

"8 picks out" from 36 was the Bengals selection of Myles Murphy. There's confirmation I think that he was a move-up target. Good chance of it at least.

Taking that thought a step further they may have intended him in that dual 3T rush role on the interior on pass downs he alluded to. The technique they line up of course may change based on matchup but guessing that between Myles Murphy and Kobie Turner there may have been a couple more guys they envisioned in that role who didn't line up for them in the draft.

By tomorrow I'm sure Sean will be giving Trader Les a hard time for not wearing his poker face. Because generally Sean doesn't give up shit lol.

Snead

Nah, Sneed is fine.

His only misstep was not answering a question on a draftees musical talent in the manner that the reporter wanted him to. She's a good reporter and was looking for a unique story line. Nothing wrong with that but if anything she should learn to read the room and the situation a little better.

Sneed was definitely excited about how well the draft was going. Nothing wrong with that.

Are the Seahawks ahead of us in the division?

They're gonna be tough. Even with Geno behind center. Their offense is loaded in skill spots outside of QB.

But their weakness during recent years has been that OL, and it's still gonna be an achilles heel for them this year. Here's their depth chart:

Lewis is solid but AD can work his ass. C and RG are weak. Tackles are good. So we gotta be able to feast on that interior to stop them. Do that, and they'll remember that they have Geno Fucking Smith at QB.

Defensively I think they're gonna make a jump. But they were shitty overall last year in points allowed. I figure they'll be harder to pass on, but I'm not afraid of their defense.

Should end up being a tough ass divisional battle.

Could the Rams move back to 4-3 in this draft?

Raheem is wedded to his Fangio combo front. He needs 3-4 DL to make it work. Raheem got rid of Gaines because of it. If Morris was going to revert to a 4-3 he would have kept Gaines and ditched Brown.

The problem is not just the scheme now, it's how it's played. A Fangio style DL is not an attacking front by definition, it's a read/react front that gives all the advantage to the offense to dictate. Which is why most teams like Detroit don't use it. If your defense is reading they will be caught flat-footed and by definition be at least a step slow to react. Why do you think the Rams have problems getting off the field defensively? It's also why so many of those first tackles are misses.

McVay obviously does not break down the film of his own defense. If he did it would be painfully obvious what the problem is. I think he does know on some level and his quick hiring of Pleasant is his way of coping and hoping not to fire his friend.

WR depth chart now and draft

Good summary of the WRs.

Imo Rams also need more speed and/or quickness. Someone with dynamic ability to get open. Stretch the field, in any direction, open the field more for Kupp. Help create explosives, as McVay always used to talk about. Not just Kupp and a possession game (such as AR might have offered had they thrown him the ball.)

Maybe Jefferson has it, but haven't seen it reflected in production on the field or downfield catches. May have good top speed but doesn't seem to have great quickness or great routes. 1/2 as you say. Glass half empty. Atwell has great speed, but not sure about his cutting ability. Rams also haven't made much use of him so far, and not clear he can be an every down receiver with a full route tree.

After trading Cooks, Rams have tried to get more speed/ explosiveness back with DJax, Atwell and OBJ. It worked with OBJ, who probably wasn't a sprinter by the time he was with the Rams but had great cutting ability, could always get open and was a threat anywhere on the field.

Who in the draft can help bring this dynamic element at WR back for the Rams?
Don't know that there is one that will fall to us but the kid from Virginia, Keytaon Thompson, 6'5" tall 216 lbs. has the tools, maybe a diamond later in the draft.
