We would be overdrafting him. And yes, he is similar to guys we have. Bech was also a TE for LSU initially, and quite productive. Wonder if McVay would use him as that. But again, definitely not the 1st round.

Absolutely not. If I had to pick a wide receiver ahead of schedule, it would be Jalen Royals or Matthew Golden, not Bech. I have no doubt that Bech has the talent and drive to be successful, but he's not what this team desperately needs, and he's not the type you take in the first round when there's others in this draft who are more of the same. It's the same reason why I'm not really interested in Restrepo either; talent's there, but you have to want more with a first.

I don't see him as a first round guy, personally. I like his fit the in the system, though, and would be happy with him on Day 2.

In general its easier to fill the slot receiver role. Outside receivers with speed are harder to find.

Look at the Niners pass game without Aiyuk. A good outside guy is more valuable.

i assume we’ll trade down to recoup some picks so he could still be our first pick just not in the first lol

that said my uneducated opinion is if we take a receiver in the first i like golden

Listening to the draftnik media there will probably only be 12-15 players in this draft class with 1st round grades and the next group of guys could come off the board at any time afterwards.

People thought the Lions were nuts for spending the 12th overall selection on Jahmyr Gibbs.

If the 2023 draft were re-drafted both Kobie Turner and Puka Nacua would be 1st round choices. We would have complained on draft day but would anyone complain now?

NFL GMs have stated the difficulty in selecting players at the bottom of the 1st round. Maybe I'm wrong, but is there a safer selection for the Rams to make than Bech?

Restrepo in the 2nd or early 3rd?

Well, I don't think the question is just whether a guy is a safe pick. Upside has to factor in. Why Bech over Harold Fannin?
Funny, I recall many saying Ladd McConkey wasnt worth a first round pick either
Bech is a special talent
I wasn't one of them. The only concern I had with McConkey was durability. He ran a 4.39 40, absolutely killed the agility drills, ran great routes on tape, and was lethal with the ball in his hands. I like Bech a lot, but I don't see him as a first round athlete. Maybe he proves me wrong. Does that mean he won't be a productive player? Nope.

Yeah...from what I recall, McConkey was projected to go early 2nd round most of the pre-draft process until he ran that blistering 40. At that point, no one was surprised when he was a 1st round pick.

Why Harold Fannin over Bech?

And you mentioned earlier that you didn't see him as a 1st rounder, but do you have 32 1st round grades in this draft class?

Safer pick in the first? Absolutely there are. I'd put 4 or 5 WR as safer and better picks in the first, three TE and about 6 CB all better and safer 1st round picks. Beck would be a good pick in the third or fourth round.

Also everybody thought Gibbs was a first round pick, some just don't want their teams picking an RB in the first no matter how good.
