GAME DAY Week 1 - The Early Games

The Detroit offense I have seen today has been all swift. Goff has been absolutely awful so far. No chance that offense is top half of the league with that kind of play.

Wasn't Deebo's issue during the offseason about his use as a running back? He has 6 carries in the first half. The one reception was a shovel pass which is basically another run. Thats fine with me for them to keep using him like that. It will shorten his shelf life down the road. With Lance I think they have to keep using him like that if they want to win. Lance does not look sharp against what is probably a 3 or 4 win team.

Yeah Detroit's probably going to need to change out their DC in order to get that defense playing better. I don't like the way he calls a game at all. They're still not great talent-wise but they get caught too much in the wrong looks.

And conversely I think Philly is doing a great job. Don't want to take away from them they have one of the better DCs in the league and their offensive gameplanning looked on point.

Did you watch the game. You can't just look at stats.

He had a good drive to get Detroit a second TD at the two minute mark.


The first TD he threw 3 passes and one was dropped but was mostly running plays but got a good first down on 3rd and 8 in the red zone

His next 4 series were bad but a lot of it was he and receivers not on the same page and he did not have any receivers open on the other passes.

The two games in my market are the 49ers/Bears and Steelers/Bengals. Watching the 49er game more for obvious reasons. Burrow and the Bengals start the second half with a 3 and out. 49ers start with another run by Deebo. 7 carries now. I'm keeping track because I know that was an issue with him. And they are still using him as a running back. He leads the team in carries at this point.

Edit: They settle for a field goal. Lance wanted to take off but there was nowhere to run as he gets sacked. I'm thinking he was not confident to throw it. It looked like a pass play. He stepped back, looked then tucked it to run. That is where the inexperience comes in. It will be interesting what happens down the road when they play teams than can score. The Bears are not one of those.

Yep. Been watching a lot of that game. I am a Goff fan and want to see him do well. So far, he hasn't, but it's early.

Unbelievable he’s still calling highlights. I think they’ve slowed the video side down a tad this year to help him keep up. Uggh.
