He hasn’t really changed. Everything around him has changed. He’s got great protection, lots of weapons, a great running game, and an innovative offense. It’s like the same exact situation as the 2017 Rams.
I agree with your sentiment on this. Detroit has done a great job building around him, and it limits the ability of defensive fronts to bully him. They're busy scrambling to cover all those weapons and trying to get through that OL.

Playoffs are the metric. That litmus test. So we'll see if he can win three straight vs the very best with everything on the line. One thing's for sure... He has the team around him to do it. So can he do it.

And when he doesn't I expect we'll hear some excuses start on how and why it didn't happen for him. On and on it goes.

Come on fellas. Goff can certainly win a Super Bowl. Many, many quarterbacks have one a SB, some multiple who are not as good a player as Goff.
I would have still been a happy Rams fan had we kept him.
Well Dilfer has a title ring. So sure he can win a Super Bowl. And he has the team around him to do it this year so maybe you'll get to celebrate when he wins it.

I'm skeptical though. Like Elm and some others round here I'm gonna need to see him do it.

His ability to process is on a different level imho.

However, you can still beat Goff with an inside rush.

That is his one huge weakness.

I will say that Goff is the third or 4th best pocket passer in the game today behind Mahomes and Stafford (Burrow is up there). Does that make him 4th or 5th on the list? I don't know to be honest. We have some really good out of the pocket QBs today. Josh Allen is definitely in the top 3.

And even if this thread turns into another long ass Goff thread, that is going to be my last post on the subject.

The guy in this video and the guy we see now - "not on a different level"

I think Goff is better now with experience because of age for sure - just not to the degree you are saying.

One question, game on the line one drive, who you taking Stafford or Goff?

Stafford ALL day for me....

Goff is fine, he aint a SB winning QB.

Goff doesnt beat TB in Tampa the year we won the SB.
Damn straight. Nor Frisco in the NFCCG

He's a big part of it. Their Injuries are worse than ours yet look at the record difference and he's the common denominator. So he's doing something right obviously. We'll just agree to disagree. No point in going back and forth because we're not gonna come to a middle ground on this.
Their injuries are on defense :explode1:

If the injuries were on offense, then your statement would make sense.

Captain Kneecap will be loved by Lions fans (as long as he is winning) and hated by Lions opponents (especially when he is winning). I think he is authentic in his approach but man is he hard to stomach.

If the Rams are not in the playoffs, I'm cheering for the Lions. But man sometimes I think Campbell gambles a little more than he needs to like. skipping a short FG attempt against the whiners in the NFCCG when they were up 14-0. Even going for it on 4th and 1 on their own 29 in the 4th quarter when they had the lead last night. They failed and GB scored a TD shortly after. It's ok to kick once in a while.

i think if the rams dont make the playoffs almost all of us are going to morph into lion fans,,,

it's the goff effect...

and wanting to see a forever floundering franchise finally get one...

go rams

I think it's going to be the exact opposite, because of the Goff effect. So many people here hate him for some reason.

He can't help he wasn't what Mcvay wanted him to be.

While everyone was blaming him for horrible turnovers in 2020, it was obvious Mcvay was trying to force a square peg in a round hole. He was obsessed with unscheduled plays that season, something goff definitely couldn't do at that stage in his career. The harder Mcvay rode him to make unscheduled plays the worse goff became with turnovers.

Mcvay's offense had stalled with Goff. Stafford cured all of mcvay's offense's ills. That's why he wanted a qb like him so much.

Doesn't mean I have to hate Goff.

.

.

Anyway, that Campbell is gonna screw the Lions again in the playoffs.

He can't just go for it every time on 4th down. You'd think he'd learn from last year's championship game.

They executed everything perfectly on 4th down, except the wr dropped the ball cold. So instead of kicking the fg and being up 3 scores again, nek minit the scores are even and the whiners had all the momentum. Sometimes you have to take the percentage play.

And he was so lucky goff got the ball to the rb after his foot got stepped on. Could have gone pear shaped all over again.

We just know it's gonna go pear shaped in the playoffs.

.

What does this even have to do with Campbell being overly aggressive? No one mentioned McVay at all.

Question Mark What GIF by MOODMAN

Yeah Genius - I guess if you watched Detroit & Rams last January you would have realized that after not going for it & giving the ball back that Sean Mcvay wanted to go for it !!!

-If you see how he struggles to decide what to do in different
Circumstance this season it’s easy to relate. -Having trust in your team and players shows up either way.
Both TIMES The Rams have played Detroit they should’ve or could’ve won. IMO Mcvay made a mistake in the Playoffs & then was out of control to start the season by not taking The 3 points.

Against Detroit why not try a 60plus FG instead of taking a risk of Stafford getting hurt ?
Show some confidence in Karty & he might not have missed that FG in the 2nd half . Mind F—- ‘s don’t help.

I have always said the way to beat the Lions is slow down the run game and then pressure Goff. Goff turns to crap when he is under pressure kind of like Marc Bulger did.

This narrative of Goff failing under pressure, is dead. All QB's struggle under pressure. I.E. Look at Stafford's performances through the past few years when the O-line struggled. Many bad games and poor INT's.

He is the best pure pocket passer in the league.

Is there a QB in the league that stays on schedule under duress from a potent inside rush???

I think there are a couple better ones. And you know who they are.

But you do make a good point. Most QBs under inside pressure do suck.

That's why there are only a couple pocket QBs who can make more plays under a consistent pass rush.

However, some QBs are really good at avoiding the rush. Allen and Jackson are good examples but Jackson folds in the playoffs.

I'm a genius.....awww thanks, I think hahaha

Well, he did respond to a football topic, with a football comment. That's pretty good for So Ram.

He could have easily responded to the topic of Campbell's aggressiveness, with a recipe for Belgian Waffles.
As much as I enjoy trying to decipher whatever So Ram is getting at. I really try not to go down that rabbit hole too deep. Gets a lil crazy lol
