You'd think the players would take care of that themselves. Their body is their investment in this profession.

Thats the thing. They are extremely overpaid so they don’t need to do anything but focus on football. The days of playing your way into shape are long gone. So are 5-6 preseason games. You have to take care of your body and put in some work on your own time so when you come to camp you can hit the ground running.

Even before this new agreement, guys like Walter Payton had legendary workouts—on their own time. Today’s NFL player has more “own time.” He doesn’t have to pitch restaurants or run a car dealership in the offseason.

It probably wont heal this season, unless he sits until it heals .

Well, he didn't play last year but we did see his immaturity, selfishness and utter stupidity on the field.

Do you remember the final play of the first 49ers' game last year?
