Well this would depress the fuck out of me. All though getting the #3 pick I'm all for I am not all for Rodgers. IF we traded Stafford I'd rather rent Jimmy G, Cousins, Fields, Darnold, whoever for one year before I'd ever offer money to Rodgers to come and be a distraction.

Rams' culture is strong. Why the fuck would they EVER consider getting anywhere near Rodgers?!

can Stafford convert some of his salary to a signing bonus, essentially giving him more guaranteed money for 25
It's not about that.
His entire 2025 salary becomes fully guaranteed after game #1, they can fully guarantee it right now if they wanted with no impact to the cap.
If they convert a portion of his salary to a bonus, he gets that money now, and reduces the '25 cap by half of what he receives, while adding the other half to '26 cap

Rodgers is a psycho diva who blames everyone for everything. Hes annoying and needs to go to Vegas or somewhere else. Please. Also keep Stafford, he makes the most sense and is a bad ass Qb still playing at a hi-level.

Surely we are not going the way of the Patriots, by getting rid of our top notch QB and then wondering through the weeds for years looking for the next one until we work our way down to the team picking number one in the draft?

100% agree, but maybe he sees the Rams as his last chance and McVay as a coach he will work with. I don't really want this scenario to come to life but anything is possible.
I just don't see this as a marriage McVay will want after what a shithead Rodgers was in GB at the end of his tenure and throughout his time with the Jets. But I could be wrong.
No chance we give them anything but Stafford and I don't even want that.
Agreed. If they want Stafford, they'll need to pony up for him. If they want to keep pick #3, they can trade us their 2nd and a future 1st.

I agree I don't think it makes sense for us. I'd rather if we dump Stafford we make a push for Lawrence. Not sure there's a FA we would like except maybe Darnold but not sure what McVay thinks about him.

My exact thought.

Here is what I worked out the other day assuming we can find a trade down partner:

Staff & #26 for #3 - we'll have to include our 1st for the Giants to bite.
#3 for #10, #42, and 2026 1st - this is assuming a team is really hot on a top 3 target.

#10 - draft any number of game changing players at OT, WR, RB, or CB.
#42 - QB, Dart

If the bridge vet or Dart aren't the answer after this season, they have two 1st round picks to trade up for a QB in next year's much stronger draft.

They will also have $170m or more in 2026 salary cap space once subtracting Stafford's and Kupp's contracts.
I get an itch in my ass about giving up the 26th but I get that we may have to do it if we go in this direction.

I don't know about Dart. Guys like Bruglar keep saying they wanted to see more from him at Senior bowl and he just looked average. I think Dart's in the eye of the beholder, I think you can convince yourself he can get there and I think you can convince yourself that the guy will get obliterated in the NFL.

My guess is he'll top out as a good backup QB but not for a year or two.

Playing devils advocate with a question…

Which QB in 2025 is more desperate/driven to win a Super Bowl at this point in time? Putting all things aside like personality and talent etc.

Rodgers or Stafford?

Stafford. Rodgers cares more about himself overall. I think Stafford really wants a SB win and MVP to cement his hall of fame legacy.

We have Stafford, Kupp, Nacua, Kyren! That line up got 10 wins. You think Puka, JW, D-rob, Kyren and Jimmy is better and going to be near that in wins is mistaken! That line up minus Jimmy is well under .500 With Stafford. How is that Laughable? We only won and got out of a combined record of 2-7 in last 2 years WHEN KUPP RETURNED. Think about it. We struggled to get 10 with everyone back. When Puka is on the Field with no Kupp we avg 14 Pts a Game. With Kupp is near 24. We have a losing Record without Kupp.
Drugs, talk to your kids about drugs. And if they got better ones make them your best friend.

Speculation is what this board is all about
That said, Stafford is the one creating the drama here, and that wouldnt be happening if he was looking for a discount. If he was happy with giving the Rams one, he'd just play on his current contract
It’s most definitely not Stafford. It’s Snead. And plus Stafford *already* took a discount.

Schefter literally just appeared on a Giants podcast and said the Rams number 1 priority is getting a deal done with Stafford. But he’s also the asshole that put out the tweet about Chad Hall. Hard to know what’s going on right now smh

Fuck A-Rod. I’d rather get every bone in my body broken/re-broken than have his narcissistic, god-complexed ass on this team.

Yeah, it's all contingent on the Rams liking any QBs in this class. If they don't, you build the team with that pick and head into 2026 with ammo.

Two assumptions here. First, how do we know he's not willing to take a discount? The assumption he's not runs counter to Kellie's suggestion that he is willing to do so.

Secondly, even if he did take a discount, you're assuming the Rams would want to spend that money on keeping Kupp. It could be that the Rams feel like Kupp is done and they're gonna move forward no matter what.
Kelly could be bullshitting from a bargaining standpoint so Stafford doesn't look like the bad guy if it doesn't work out. For all we know Stafford is asking for a lot of money minus a discount but then on the public side having his wife make it seem like he's taking a discount.

I wouldn't necessarily be mad. If Stafford doesn't want to be here , guess what? I'd say thank you for getting us a Superbowl and trade his ass for the highest pic you can get. This is about the LA Rams not the LA Staffords.
