My confusion comes in that the team traded away Ramsey because they no longer wanted to pay a CB HUGE $$ in their team build. So now they are going to trade for an even older Ramsey after he's signed an even bigger contract? Unless he's taking a significant pay cut this doesn't make much sense.
I thought it was more of a couldn't pay. I think that was the year we were in serious cap trouble.
I would still like to have him back at a price that we could afford I think he can still cover better than most
of our guys. And he is a beast in his ability to come up and destroy RB's as well as screen plays. JM2 cents.

Full name, RAMsey Blue
Rescued a pup from the SPCA that looked a lot like RAMsey Blue. Grey goat with blue eyes. I think he was a weimaraner/lab mix. His name was Blue. I had to find a home for him that had more room as I was in the city and he would hop the fence/jump from my car window while I was driving as a pup. Beautiful pup but wild as mountain lion in heat.

I don’t know how true this is but sounds about right

I hope it's true because more than likely they will have to cut him instead because I can't imagine any team taking on his current contract. With his fondness for LA we can sign him for less and not give up draft picks.

His 2025 salary is guaranteed, so they'd take a 48 mill dead cap hit. I think they'd just keep him and cut him next year.
It's likely all just posturing at this point, they cant do anything until after June 1.

Probably, kinda depends on how much of a dick Ramsey wants to be I suppose. Dolphins are in a no win situation right now with him unless they somehow repair the relationship with him to keep him another year.

The same way he drove the trade to Miami he will drive this next trade if they can even trade him. If he wants to be here he can make that possible by simply saying won't go to other teams. Teams won't trade for a guy who doesn't want to be there and is as outspoken as Ramsey can be when not happy.

Yeah, the Dolphins are in a real spot. No other team wants that contract and that cap hit to the Dolphins on moving/cutting JR is huge.
Their best move (ok, least bad move) might be just to keep Ramsey on the roster and pay him to hang out and not actually play.

The Washington team did that with RGIII after they decided he was not a part of their future:
Griffin, according to multiple team sources, was running with the scout team defense as a safety. Yes ... a safety. . . .
Team sources, however, contend they are keeping Griffin on the roster because of the financial investment they've already made in him for 2015, noting it's impossible to know what turn of events could make him a valuable asset for the Redskins this season.

Texans with Watson, too
Texans head coach David Culley proclaimed to the public on Wednesday that Watson, because he missed the offseason program leading into training camp, was anointed the fourth-string quarterback and played safety on defense, per Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle

Ramsey seems like he's made up his mind that he's not going to play for the Dolphins anymore (oh, they "mutually" agreed to that). He's outspoken enough that he could Jimmy Butler his way out of there. But if the Dolphins aren't eating salary or giving high picks plus the player, Rams should pass.

The Rams just need to be patient. Ramsey gonna find a way out, he's made a career out of it lol.....glad it ain't happening to us

Ian Rappaport tweeted earlier that we gave up a 4th and 5th for Ramsey but now I don't see it anymore.

I've said this before I think Ramsey is going to be a safety. I would love to see him as a Rams safety.
If the Rams add him I would presume he at least begins camp in the star role. Which would be effectively transitioning from Lake. Who is a safety and similar in adding good run support. Ramsey of course is just better in coverage thus it would not be a competition.

From there I wonder if Lake competes in the pairing. I'd like to see that. The dude did a good job for us last year but our pairing was hit and miss especially early in the season. Advantage of Ramsey being added is our depth is improved and we'll be slightly better in coverage.

He isn't great but hasn't ever been the worse corner on our roster

I expect 50 OUCHES & 25 Not So Sure
His first year was awful, could not cover a bed. His second he improved, but he made some bonehead plays and taking penalties that hurt the team along with his growth. His 3rd year he missed the whole year due to injury.

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
