Kendricks has had some flashes of potential, but its the BONEHEAD plays we all remember. I like his physicality, but he is inconsistent in coverage.
Perhaps the if Ramsey returns to us, he can slap some much belated sense into Kendrick's super hard cabeza!!! :fistbump1:

Ram Ts why you telling me to chill bro? It ain't that serious lol. I'm just speaking my mind in a shit talking, bar conversation tone lol. At the end of the day I just don't see it with Kendrick and apparently the Rams disagree. Sometimes they get it wrong and every thousandth time, I do too :laugh1::zany1:
Yeah. I didn’t really get it either so I removed it. Maybe it was the “Fuck that” to begin your post but I thought you were just using a term a lot of people use. So knock that fucking shit the fuck off!

Me too. It does seem like a notion that has legs. I’ll bet @El Chapo Jr ’s balls are tingling.

Personally I think Witherspoon is a little overrated here. He keeps coming back to us on 1 year deals, usually at the very end of free agency or during the season even. And yet people say how good he is. He's good on our woeful secondary but he's not that much better than what we have IMO. I think we disagree fundamentally based on your mention of Noteboom. Depth at cornerback and offensive line are very hard to find. So as annoying as Kendrick and Noteboom can be, I don't think it's sensible to think that depth players on many rosters are starters in most situations. Sometimes you need guys who can ride the pine and come in for a short stint. That's what most depth players are. If Kendrick is your CB 4-5 is that too crazy ?
Yes, he's too slow and a knucklehead. We need an infusion of new blood instead. Maybe it'll happen next year so I don't have to wince if he somehow plays. Signed Kendrick's biggest fan.

You’ve been around long enough to realize the model the Rams use on their defense. It is what it is.

Gonna come down to $. Still elite for leadership, intelligence, toughness, and run support. Not elite for coverage anymore - but above average. Hope he's a Ram soon at the right price. He's a winner and will make our young secondary better.
I always loved how he regularly laid the lumber to runners. Fearless and did not like to allow first downs.

Lol yeah probably. Or honestly if he's bad in camp this year. If the Rams trade for Ramsey, you'll have him, Forbes, Durant, Williams as the top 4 probably. And then they have ufdas that they like. He's probably on the outside looking in.

I keep checking the forum expecting to see the title of this thread changed to “Rams acquire Ramsey”
There was an update yesterday about ongoing discussions. After the draft Miami's GM mentioned that they'll do it when the time benefits them, so likely after 6/1 like @dieterbrock mentioned.

Spoon behind Forbes and Durant?

Kendrick's a good option to have vs teams like SF who want to underneath the fuck out of you for 90 minutes. The boy is hard nosed out there in his tackling, he's physical which helps vs bigger wideouts, and he can look great as long as you're not putting him on a dude with real juice.

It felt like what we needed was a corner who could handle the top draws. Then the rest of these guys sort where they should be in favorable matchups vs most offenses. But I get how they approached it, by focusing on finishing up the front. It was the front where we came up short most vs Philly in the regular season. You can't fix everything in one season and there is some potential for some of these guys to improve still.

But back to Ramsey the problem is he's no longer the dude who can snuff out that top draw who has real juice. And I don't think he was that dude before the Rams traded him either, it was already showing. So for this season I'd take Ramsey if he's affordable, for a one year run. Going forward though in that 2026 draft we need to invest in a top corner who can lock shit down.
I am looking at 2025 alone, right now.

Ramsey isn't the CB he used to be, but he's better than all of our CBs we have right now. The immediacy of now, or maybe never, with Stafford and this team getting a second Super Bowl win us here. With two 1st rounders next year, means almost certainly getting the QB of the future, along with more draft capital to secure their guy. It will probably take 3 first rounders to get who they really covet, which means we probably can't get a top flight CB next year.

This is ok if we win a Super Bowl in 2025.
Get it done, Les. Easy or hard to do, get it done.

My confusion comes in that the team traded away Ramsey because they no longer wanted to pay a CB HUGE $$ in their team build. So now they are going to trade for an even older Ramsey after he's signed an even bigger contract? Unless he's taking a significant pay cut this doesn't make much sense.

... unless the NFL media and ROD are speculating a little too much
