Game of Thrones: Season 8

One of the great things HBO offered us as a preview just prior to the beginning of season 8's GoT was the upcoming movie conclusion to the long dormant Deadwood series. A full 13 years since the award winning series rather abruptly ended, the movie version will pick up 12 years later in 1889 with So.Dakota now having statehood and the town still in major upheaval. Series regulars Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker and John Hawkes will reprise their roles in the film.
Without a set date yet, my guess is that HBO will release it soon after concluding Game of Thrones. jmo.

Yes, it's too bad that they had to spend one of seven episodes just getting everybody reacquainted. If it were a 10 episode season ok, go ahead and do it. Looks like next week they're going to spend time debating Jaime Lannisters' fate.

I started a 5 person GOT Fantasy league with a few friends and family. We each got 10 characters of the 51 characters that are still alive in season 8. We kept the point system pretty basic, getting points for surviving an episode, killing a Lannister, Stark, The Night King, Viserion, and less points for killing any of the other characters, Sitting on the Iron Throne any time, and at the end, also negative points for getting killed. All of our 10 characters are active, so no lineup necessary. We did a snake draft, it was fun. These are the 51 characters still living for the final season.

I know this is late but is anyone interested? I've tagged everyone that's been a part of this thread but to keep it some what competitive I'm thinking MAX 8 teams of 6 characters. I have never seen an episode (don't have HBO or HBO Go); couldn't tell ya anything except I know Sophie Turner is on it, and I have thing for her, mostly because of her being Jean Grey from X-Men, not from her GOT character.

unless the night king can ride viserion because he's the ultimate badass..........that would make him a targaryen as well.

Had I been General for this episode, Bran would have been shipped off to somewhere near Kings Landing to draw the enemy (army of the dead) towards Cercei, then Jon could have used ambush & guerrilla tactics to hit their rear guard to weaken them along their route. The Night King would still destroy Kings Landing & Cercei, but they would have been much weaker by the time they returned to Winterfell for the final battle. jmo.

But they don't have dragon glass at Kings Landing.. so the Army of the dead would just walk over the Lannister army, Euron Greyjoy army and the 20000 strong Gold Company.. making the Night Kings Army that much stronger

No dragons in this episode, which must have been much cheaper to make. I would think that with the limitations of food, all of those extra troops would be very tempting for a couple of hungry dragons to not chow down upon!

He was riding when it melted the wall at the end of last season. So take that as you will.

Been two nice episodes of reunions but play time is over. Also, there was a huge spike on google last night for “How old is Maisie Williams”. Lol. That was awkward just because she’s been a kid through most of the series.
 
I don’t know what I watched last night, but it surely wasn’t GOT...
I thought they were going to break out the needle and thread and make friendship bracelets for everyone

Preparing the emotions for when one person in each of those relationships dies :D
 
Brianne just got what she wanted her whole life. She's dead meat now....I think a lot of main characters are going to be marching with the dead after episode 3...
