Davante discussing line releases with Baldy:

The main reason why I was really wary of Kupp leaving was Puka losing that mentor. He's still really young and I didn't realize he was only 22 and 20 when he was drafted. I thought he was a few years older because of how fast he's started and we've been targeting older players lately.

I feel like I can rest easy on that front now. Puka still has a lot to learn and Davante has a whole different style of WR to teach him.

For those concerned about WR age, I present the following:

Here are the top statistical seasons by wide receivers at age 33:
  1. Jerry Rice (1995): 122 receptions, 1,848 receiving yards, 15 touchdowns. This remains one of the greatest seasons in NFL history.
  2. Larry Fitzgerald (2016): 107 receptions, 1,023 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns. He led the league in receptions that year.
  3. Cris Carter (1998): 78 receptions, 1,011 receiving yards, 12 touchdowns. A touchdown machine even in his 30s.
  4. Terrell Owens (2007): 81 receptions, 1,355 receiving yards, 15 touchdowns. Owens was a dominant force for the Dallas Cowboys.
  5. Tim Brown (1999): 90 receptions, 1,344 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns. A model of consistency throughout his career.

I am guessing Demarcus Robinson's #15.

Or, he could give Nacua some $ for #17.
After some thought about it last night I also came to this conclusion. Adams' Fresno jersey was 15 so it makes sense. I contemplated Puka with his BYU #12 too... and he also wore #15 for the Huskies so there's that.

We'll see if Puka likes getting a gift for it but rather him keep #17.

Freaking excellent post. Was just thinking the same thing in what number ADAMS would wear.

I’m not about numbers, but I got to thinking picking up a STUD like this.It would be a good jester for PUKA.

Thought - do you let Kupp’s jersey breathe,or would he take it because of that LEGACY & what KUPP has meant to him as a mentor & a friend??

#12 would be pretty cool though as well for Adam’s

It not the age as much as Kupp seems to have lost a step.He will be out to PROVE IT though.

His knee issues are a huge concern.

#18 might also work. Tyler Johnson is a free agent and may not return.

Adams (#18) and Nacua (#17) has a nice ring to it; and #18 has a Rams' history ... Roman Gabriel.
It was also Cooper Kupp's original Rams' jersey number.

Another possibility I would like is #1. Mainly because it might mean Derion Kendrick is off the roster.

33 years old next season. He's still at the top of his game but he's running on the edge of the cliff of youth 'Hope he doesn't fall off.

For clarity; He just turned 32 and will play 2025 at 32yrs old.

So what jersey # will Adams wear? Nacua owns 17.

Please Devante, don’t ask Puka to wear 17. He’s too nice and will oblige. I just got my Nacua jersey six months ago.
Puka wore 12 in college..he wore 17 because he was drafted 177.

Not sure Puka cares that much about #17.

Hope for your case he does!

To draft Hampton in the 3rd? I doubt we'd get a 3rd for Kyren.
I honestly don't know what we'd get for KW but didn't you see my lol? Only reason I'm throwing Hampton's name out there is due to McVay wanting more explosiveness/speed to the offense. I think McVay would be tempted but its anyone's guess if he actually pulled the trigger. I'm personally still leaning towards guessing CB is the pick but I don't know doo doo hahahaha

For those concerned about Davante being ARob 2.0 - I’m not. And here’s why.

1. Adams has been one of the best WRs, consistently, for the past decade. He has and always will be a better talent.

2. The guy is hungry and wants to win. He’s here to get a ring. I expect him to be a force on this team.

3. Even this past year, he played extremely well on two different teams.

I still hope we get a stud WR in the draft but I think this is going to be an excellent addition and quite frankly, he’s an upgrade over Demarcus Robinson.
