Wasn't talking about the TB playoff game last year, and I don't put the evaporation of that lead on Morris, never did.

But losses to the Bucs this year and the first loss to the Seahawks are squarely on his shoulders as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah sorry I think I was quoting you and replying to someone else lol

The game against TB this year was bad all around but the offense was so bad it's very difficult to hold on for that long a as a defense.

The Seacocks game I agree was bad but I'll take the occasional bad game over constantly choking as Staley has done. IMO Morris' did a great job with some bad cards he was dealt this year especially the second half of the season.

Staley's playoff performances concern me. But I agree it would be great to have him back and good coordinators returning from failed head coach stints seem to do very well.

We just need Spanos to axe him for something new and shiny.
Fangio is my 1a if Morris leaves

I'm kind of in the young hungry mind next DC search. Tired of retreads though Staley could qualify as both I guess but yeah his playoff meltdowns are no bueno.

It doesn't concern me. People remember the Packers but forget the Seahawks the week before. And they forget against the Packers that Donald was a shell of himself due to the injury he suffered against the Seahawks. Our DL got absolutely dominated in that game, and there wasn't much we could do. When we lightened the box, they ran all over us. When we put guys in the box to stop the run, Rodgers burned Troy Hill deep.

As for what has happened to him as a HC, I don't count that when evaluating him as a coordinator. Plenty of great coordinators struggled when elevated to HC (including Staley's mentor, Vic Fangio). Staley has fared better than a lot of guys, as he's had a winning record in both years. I'd happily take him back. Staley led us to a #1 defense in 2020 (in both points and yards allowed). When was the last time the Rams had a #1 defense (outside of that year)? (Answer: In 1978, we finished #1 in yards allowed, and in 1975, we finished #1 in points allowed. 2020 is the only year in our history we finished #1 in both.)

It's fascinating how you can pick and choose success and failures with one coach but only focus on the failures of another.

Who gives two shits about a number one defense? The SUPER BOWL is the thing.. and the Rams defense was absolutely incredible last postseason.

Oh.. and with Green Bay.. the Packers did the same motion to get the Rams into a lighter box to run at them time after time after time.
Staley made no adjustment and the Rams got absolutely gashed.

As I said, go bother somebody else. We've already had this argument. I'm not going to waste more time with you.
