Nobody has ever accused me of being hip, with it, or up to date, which is my was of saying I've been watching Archer on Netflix and it's fucking hilarious.

I was annoyed that nothing got accomplished and that it is just going to start over again.
That was the entire point; that the elites get away with a lot of shit, and that humans can only do the best they can under the circumstances. And Gi-hun did succeed at permanently stopping the Korea branch; you can't replace an entire mystery island.

Oh yes they can. It just costs money and time.

They used a normal island that they bombed to hell. You can't create a manmade one without serious time and money that not even these guys have, and people would easily find it and the whole secret would be out.

And even if they did remake the island, they couldn't make it near South Korea ever again, not with the authorities well on their tail.

Time and money is all it would take.

However, I agree that they would probably have to find an island that is farther from South Korea that is more in international waters.

As the end scene showed, it was still going on in S. Korea

You sure? Last scene was in America. It was the South Korean game being played, but it was an American homeless man who was doing it - and getting slapped by Cate Blanchett (so fucking hot...um, I mean, how dare she be an evil Recruiter!)

You might be right. I forgot his daughter was in America. I thought that guy was still in S. Korea. I just figured Cate Blanchard was working in S. Korea and the guy happened to be a homeless vet in S. Korea. My bad.

But I still think they would have started back up in S. Korea sometime in the future.

No, it's clearly in America. He gave Gi-hun's daughter the prize money remaining, plus his belongings, and she was in L.A. at the time with his car stopping at a red light near the alleyway. Last scene is watching a homeless American getting slapped by a Recruiter while playing the South Korean game.

They could start back up in South Korea, but it would likely take decades to build an island dedicated enough to host the games, especially in secret without the now-aware South Korean government looking into it - because you know the Frontman's detective brother isn't going to just let things go, even with the girl's infant daughter to take care of.

Decades? I think they could do it in 5 -10 years depending if they can find an island that fits their needs. As to the detective, he would have to go by scratch since he wouldn't have any contacts anymore. And the Korean government possibly would get involved due to the explosions on the island but since they have zero evidence anything other than the explosions would maybe dismiss it. Plus these ultra rich people would just pay off anyone high up in the government to look the other way.

This conversation is silly. They could build one on the moon if they wish, the suspension of reality is pushed to "Sharknado" levels

I just didn't like how the show ended is all. And I gave my reason. And Memento disagreed with my reasoning.

I really enjoyed that show. Doesn't hurt that the lead actress is so fun to watch too.
Yeah, she's very easy on the eyes. Plays a good tough chick too. I'm a few episodes in. It was aired on NBC for 5 seasons. Can't believe I never knew about that show. Really good so far.
