The end goal is to run the ball in McVay's offensive philosophy. But you have to get there first. And as teams have adjusted to stop our running game (to also take away play action....to some extent...) it's easier to attack a defense designed to take away the run w/ the pass. But ultimately he (McVay) wants to get to the 20 -25 carry range as that is when Gurley has always been at his best. How many times have we gone in at halftime and Gurley has only 20-25 yards.....and then he ends up w/ 80 or more for the game. Todd Gurley is a big guy that runs hard. It's much easier to stop him early than later. But unfortunately....we haven't got to that level yet. I don't know if it will be tomorrow, but I have a feeling we just might have one of those "ass-kicking" games......like 2 years ago. When we went into Seattle and everyone was questioning whether we were truly for real...…..that kind of ass-kicking. Came off a loss to the Eagles. Had lost 2 of the 3 games we had played before then. People were asking questions on whether we were really that good. Seattle had already beat us once that year....
Anyone know the score of that week 15 game? Yeah...that kind of ass kicking.
