Just checked out the Niner board-feel like I need to shower with bleach!

Anyways seems like they are freaking out as the Covid bug is hitting them this week. Looks like their whole secondary right now.
Really? I was unaware they had players on the Covid list. Unfortunately everytime we play a depleted secondary it seems we can't take advantage of it.

With new guidelines, most of them should be back.

Well that sucks, because their secondary loves to commit PI. I hope the backups are as good at PI as the guys they are replacing.

The NFL has always manipulated start times of games the last week of the season to eliminate competitive resting advantage.

Meaning, if they had put our game in that Saturday slot, and we won, the Cardinals could just rest everyone knowing they were locked into the 5 seed.

So I knew the NFL would find some games without meaning to throw in those slots.

If Dallas loses - they're the 4 seed. Locked in. If they win, they could be the 3 seed if Tampa loses.

Tampa meanwhile could be the 2 seed if we lose, so they wouldn't rest.

Basically, whether Dallas wins or loses has no bearing on what the other teams will do.

Same for Philly because the real kicker is SF and NO, and you'll notice they flexed the Saints game to 4:25 so that the Niners wouldn't know whether they clinched. Philly winning or losing will have no bearing on whether they are 6 or 7. That's all going to be decided by the SF and NO games.

Broncos are eliminated.

The Chiefs winning or losing
also has no leverage. The Bengals could steal home field from the Titans if they (and the Chiefs) both lose.

So that's why for the Chiefs game. They could have put the Bengals Browns there too. Those were probably their only options that actually involve decent teams.
Nice breakdown. Didn't realize the NFL was jacking with schedule in this way but makes sense.

And with no Ernest Jones now and Reeder on the field constantly?? Cant wait to watch Kittle go for 150yds. I feel like Shanahan does the best job at isolating LBs in space against us, man that shit is so annoying.
Agreed and there are ways to scheme to stop this. That is where I have the beef with Morris. The better coordinators dial up out of the box schemes to take away what they project the offense to do. This is what separates the men from the boys.

We’re gonna kick ass and take names while looking good doing it!

Oh yeah. That's why they schedule division rivals on the last week, too. Force those playoff implications, assuming the division isn't full of worthless teams.

I hate the whiners with a passion. I lived through the 17 losses in the 1990's until our savior Kurt Warner came along.

I almost got divorced because my wife is a whiners fan and I broke a television set during our 17 game losing streak.

My wife got major payback when Kurt Warner was starting. I'm still mad that the Rams traded him and kept Bulger.

Are you talking about "like a punt" and "manu ran the wrong route" bulger?

I didn’t read through this entire thread so sorry if this was already covered. I am not worried about Ugly Gronk, SF defense or which QB starts. I am worried about Samuel and the 49ers run game. Put Ramsey on Samuel all day and let him get physical. We will miss E Jones and I appreciate what Reeder has done to fill in but consider options early if the 49ers pick on him on with sweeps and a short pass game. The 49ers will try.

The Niners lost 4 games to the Cardinals and Seahawks. I don’t get it. Neither has a great defense, and both didn’t play great against a very similar Rams offense.

I guess the only common denominator is scrambling QBs that can gain yards on the ground.
