If Ragnow does indeed step-away from the game prior to his age-29 season, it's a massive loss for Detroit.

Wonder if a large extension might change his mind. It has recently been reported that Ragnow was seeking a new contract. Not expecting, or even guessing, that this is partly an aggressive negotiation-move.
Only saying it's rare that a player this good, in his prime, on a winning high-profile team retires.

As @OldSchool posted above, the second round selection of Ratledge sure seems like a smart move.

Or, the reporting about the contract was BS and he's been mulling retirement.

Given that he's actually, you know, retired, I'm assuming it's the latter.

I agree; and that's probably the case here.
However, there is a formal NFL retirement process (paper-work) beyond just announcing it.

No idea if the process is complete in this case. Also, sometimes people do change their mind. There are often three factors that lead people to change their minds ... money ... Money ... and, most often ... MONEY.

Center is such an interesting position. A good guard is better to have than a good center but a great center is better to have than a good guard.

Goff was horrible without a good center.

Blythe destroyed Goff.

Without Ragnow, Goff may become another just an average QB unless their 2nd round pick is a godsend.
Not rooting for Goff's downfall of course but after losing their OC and DC I think it's a solid chance the Lions take a big step back in the NFC which is good news for us

Ya know what? You could be right. They could be in a heap o trouble this year. Every year a few playoff teams switch out. Could the lions be a team that misses the postseason this year?

He's still got elite weapons and a good line. So unless the new playcaller is a moron, or injuries strike, that offense should still light it up. Maybe not 33ppg, but upper 20s certainly shouldn't be a stretch.

I think talent has a lot more of a say than they're given cred for sometimes. Johnson knows this, and you can see it in his moves to put the Bears over the top in that regard. I mean damn man. Look at that roster.

Truer words have rarely been spoken
And of course you have Cee Dee Lamb also barking about targets.
As much as it will be fun to watch the implosion, I will feel bad for our friend @Rynie
Meh, I almost don't care anymore. I sold my seat license and season tickets. I'm done giving an organization that doesn't care about winning my money. It doesn't matter who is on our team; the Jones family keep it a circus 24/7.

This is where we were at before and after the GSOT. It will get better Rynie... as soon as Jerrah gives up control.

Damn Brudda
I honestly wouldn't expect to hear YOU say that. I understand though. We had an owner who destroyed the franchise too. Even Die-Hard fans like us can only take so much incompetence. All you can do is voice your disgust out loud as much as you can. It helped me stay only half crazy.

I feel yuh man. There were some pretty dark years for us Ram fans during the Georgia, Shaw, Zygmunt era (aka the clown show years). I honestly think the GSOT years were pure luck and happened in spite of that shit show of a front office.

Yet here we are today.

Not that I wish good things for your team because I am a Cowgurlz hater from way back, but for you, I hope Jeruh either wises up or sells the team.

I know I was a fan where I really didn't want Georgia around any longer.

At least you did make the playoffs some years.

As a Rams fan, we did not have a winning record for 13 fricken years.

In fact, we had at one time the worst 5 year record ever for a franchise - it was that bad.

However - the worst mistake your team did was not trade Dak when you had a chance.
