Our defense only gave up 22 points though....the two FGs were gifted by turnovers on the offense.

Even with Barkley's runs and Hurts long run - defense is not why we lost this game. That was on the offense. Hell the defense even scored two points....if the offense just gets 21 and doesn't turn the ball over, we win. And that should be easy with our offensive players
That's been the problem more times than not.

Stafford should have thrown to Williams on that last play - he had just one man to beat to get to the first down. And Williams is a tough runner and probably would have gotten it.

It's going to be a LONG time before I get over this.

I'll never forgive Kyren, or the DBs for continually taking awful angles that get us absolutely destroyed.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda, that's my take on a great season considering those 3 words kept us not being the best we could. Next year will be less shoulda, woulda, coulda and more dominance and 24 points a game or more average on offense. Its in there, we just need a few tweeks and a better start in 25. Go Rams, 2025.

Williams is a talented back, but his ball security has become an issue. I hope to see Corum as the lead back next season and Williams maybe a 3rd down option, if he still has a place on the team.

Yeah, CBs who want to tackle has to be another priority.
You see guys like my man DeJean our there making open field tackles on guys the size of Higbee with ease, and our DBs are constantly missing. Those plays add up SO fast.

A night's sleep and for me it comes down to 3 plays on each side of the ball when you simplify it.

On defense obviously the three long runs. Yes I know obvious but aside from those the defense was really good. Yes all three were sprung by offe side holdings but we can't control that. We need an ilb we all know that. What we also need is at least one better CB to allow at least one of the safeties to be more of a box guy. So many bad angles from the back end.

On offense the 2 fumbles are the again obviois answer. Ball security is paramount for the playoffs. The last play is the next one. Limmer let His guy destroy the plat and if Stafford has another second it's a TD to Higs.

Ok on to free agency and the draft.

I believe it the weather conditions had not been the snow field advantage, the Rams would have won this game but they earned that home field. Hopefully the Rams have it next season.
Don't know about anybody else but I put the turnovers on the weather more than the Defense. Most certainly for Williams' fumble for sure...

This game was like watching your pitcher throw a 5-hitter, striking out 14 and walking only 1, except 3 of the hits were long homers. More than half of the Eagle total yardage came on the three jailbreak runs.

What I didn't like about Kyren's fumble was that the ball was just laying out there to be punched out - bad ball security. That would have happened in any weather conditions.

Stafford raised his career YPG in playoffs to 299.6, and up to 3rd place all-time (from 4th; min 7 games). If Higbee had caught that one bad drop, Stafford would have been back over 300.0!

I like the fact Verse really showed up in this game. Yes, still not perfect, but this was year-one for him. Looking forward to the future. I hope Fiske's knee problem is not ACL-related, which could impact next season.

Did you see him fumble the punt that the Eagles fortunately recovered?

If the Rams cover the fumble, he is the goat of the game.
Sure I absolutely agree, but I'm talking defense specifically. He's what we lack at CB bad. I'm not discrediting that play, but speaking on what we lack at CB.

So many things to vent about today but they at least stop throwing the game away to make a show of it.

Defense except for a couple plays was good and kept us in the game. Verse backed up his talking for sure.

Time to upgrade RT and ILB IMO.
I think Omar played pretty damn good for an undrafted rookie. But outside of that completely agree. LB is the biggest weekness.
Still not sold on our safeties yet (outside of Kitchen being a good pick). Lake to me is average. JMO of course.

I'd keep Curl and Kinchens but I'm not sold on Lake. Great leader and person, but seems to lack athleticism and misses too many tackles outside of a big one earlier this year saving a TD.

yeah.. puka also got held before the throw however.
I couldn't tell if Sean was screaming for that or he felt Stafford got hit late?
The DB definately wrapped his arm around Puka trying to break away. At least illegal contact/hold but no call.

turnovers by the offense and some bad 3rd down blocking.. no bueno.

However can't ignore 285 yards rushing and 8.4 ypg by the eagles.
The crazy things about this is:
2 carries for 140 yards (70 YPC)
24 carries for 65 yards. (2.7 YPC)
It's like they completely shut Barkley down otherwise.
Not that it matters becuase big plays killed us. But damn. Two stupid breakdowns were all the difference in the world. The second one it looked like Curl just was slow and took a bad angle. But Barkley is a game changer.
