shake n bake = making people miss
Yes yards after contact is more a power back thing he would run over people instead of making them dive to empty turf trying to tackle him. It's not an insult just a different type of back. I don't think the guy he replaced had a shot barring injuries at the roster so we'll see with him.

Fair enough. Also? With Ragas now on the team, we now have two of the three-man Ragin' Cajuns backfield on our roster (Raymond Calais is the second. There's also Elijah Mitchell, now a 69er.)

Calais has some game, just been unlucky, this could be his year he breaks through. Calais is fast and catches the bell well again he could stick IMHO.

Calias was very much in the mix for return duties las year at TC. Sure handed and smooth. Hoping we get to see return drills today.
I still like Powell better as a punt returner, but I remember you commenting on Calais being the best the Rams had last season before his injury.

Powell imo has a harder battle to make the WR room as it stands right now.
Kupp
Robinson
Jefferson
Atwell
Harris
Skow
Then you have the young guys it's a very tough competition.

Powell needs to showcase that he needs to offer something at WR, but IMO, he's so good as both a PR/KR you have to keep him.

The difference that Special Teams made last year make me lean strongly toward guys who truly excel at certain roles. Powell and Skow being two good examples.
And having extra bodies at WR is more important these days than at RB, imo.

With Atwell, Harris & Skowronek competing heavily for the WR4,5 & 6 roles, Powell's real competition for a roster spot may be with one of the new CB's who also possess return skills. jmo.

Will say again that I suspect backup QB is a quiet battle that is going to go down to the wire this preseason. Rams haven't said anything to indicate it but the roster numbers have a chance to force it.

Perkins might be a luxury if they are facing enormously tough cuts. I like the kid btw. I appreciate what he did last preseason. I like his calmness in the pocket. He is so smooth and athletic in his movement, just needs to show faster reads and full knowledge of the offense to unseat Wolf.

Either way he didn't sustain his play last preseason, but he flashed a bit. This year if he can show well I think a backup QB decision will loom large for the staff, as I don't trust Wolf to stay healthy if he is needed for any real length of time.

Glad they finally re-invented the white jerseys, it's a new technology that we need to be excited about! :laugh3:

In all seriousness though can we have yellow pants with them for some of those games plz Kevin.
