We know they have Lewis and Garrett on the 53 to play opposite Floyd and back him up.

They have Lawler on the Practice Squad eligible to be a game-day-active but he recently had surgery for a broken hand; and Okoronkwo eligible to come-off short-term-IR.

Would guess that one or both of Lawler and Obo are not ready to play on Sunday.

You aught to hear the Buc homers getting all excited about Sherman and this years Super Bowl...lol
The guy abandons his vehicle after crashing it in a work zone, proceeds to his in-laws house to try and kick their door down to beat their ass, then gets K9 called on him.

I am not sure they/he should be looking that far ahead.

My only concern is that the steelers cut him to make room for a player at the same position.
That’s a legit point.

Sometimes it works out.

Speculated that Pittsburgh would have signed Jones to its Practice Squad.

A year ago, Denver waived Justin Hollins, and it was speculated he would be signed to its PS before the Rams claimed him.

Two years earlier, Baltimore waived Darious Williams to make room to bring back a veteran CB, and probably would have signed Williams to the PS except the Rams claimed him off waivers.

I think Lawler was activated twice already so he would have to come up to the active roster and stay and count against the 53.

Special team guy and depth. They liked him more than a draft pick but he ended up losing his 4th olb spot in camp from what I read. I'll take somebody who can be good on coverage teams.

Yeah... I'm going to think they like something about him. Steelers always seem to be deep at LB. I think I'm going with the Rams brain truss on this one.

Is that an actual rule? Not saying it's not - just that I've never heard about it.

It's a new Covid rule from last yr. In the past you could not activate PS players on game day without counting against the 53. The last two yrs you can. You can activate two PS guys per week, but each player can only be activated twice in the season. After that he must be added to the active roster and count against the 53 man roster. They did this in case you lost players due to Covid.
