RUMOR The Cowboys are winning the SB

Hey, y'all! It's been awhile. I hope everyone is doing well. The Cowboys are winning the Super Bowl this year. Let me tell you why. Dak got a frontal lobotomy over the summer, so he'll quit going full-retard in the playoffs. The technology has changed so much. He actually now has x-ray vision. Zeke hasn't had a 100 yard game in 44 games, but he's been drinking the blood of small children, so he has fresh legs. Mike Zimmer, who on his like 20th team, will make this defense #1. Y'all ain't ready.

Space Marine 2

I figure some of you bastids are planning to buy this. Gotta say I'm pumped for the release, as I love the Warhammer universe and the space marine chapters trying to survive in an endless fight vs the forces of chaos are some of the best storylines around. This game looks fuckin great though. Here's a clip of a well known youtuber playing it first time, gives a good feel for what to expect:

Rams Coach Heaps Praise Onto Formerly-Cut Lineman

Rams Coach Heaps Praise Onto Formerly-Cut Lineman

The Los Angeles Rams have one of the best offenses in the NFL, averaging 359.3 total yards per game.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford leads an elite group that includes wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua as well as running backs Kyren Williams and rookie Blake Corum.

However, things are much more questionable on the offensive line.

Left Tackle Alaric Jackson has been suspended for two games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. Additionally, two players, KT Leveston and Conor McDermott, are currently on the injury reserve list, with two more listed as questionable.

Still, there is some good news coming out of the offensive line. One of the best stories to come out of training camp is that of Logan Bruss.

Logan Bruss was a standout offensive guard for Wisconsin in NCAA and was named second-team All-Big Ten in 2021. He was selected by the Rams with the 104th overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Unfortunately, Bruss had a difficult time making it on the field. In the second preseason game of his rookie year, Bruss suffered a torn ACL and MCL that would take him out for the season.

In the 2023 season, Bruss was one of 36 players waived by the Rams and re-signed to the practice squad.

Still, Bruss didn't let any of this keep him down. After working hard all preseason, Bruss finally earned a spot on the Rams' 53-man roster.

In practices, Bruss was seen enjoying himself more and having more confidence, something offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur definitely noticed, per Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.

“He just hasn’t stopped," LaFleur said. "When it looked like it maybe was not going to work out for him, and he knows that, he just kept pushing through and those are the really cool ones right there, where you’re not sure. The player’s not sure. Which you never want as a coach to see a player have to go through that."

"For him to just keep battling last year behind the scenes (and) on the practice squad, doing it in the scout team fashion then to be able to get his opportunities.”

Bruss is now set to back up Kevin Dotson at right guard. Hopefully, he'll get the chance to prove that he deserves to be in the NFL.

Peacock

I just noticed that the Friday game is on Peacock. I assume that means on Peacock only. . . correct me if I am wrong.

I pay for Sunday Ticket and it's so annoying that there are a number of games a year that they have moved to Peacock.

Anybody got any good workarounds. Last years playoff game I went to Buffalo Wild Wings. But I would rather not.

Kupp Kicking Off?!

So, less than a week before kickoff and the Rams are playing musical chairs with key positions. First, we swap out our starting center—because, why not?

Then, in a plot twist nobody saw coming, our starting RB is now also our punt returner. Clearly, the best way to preserve our top back is to have him sprinting downfield, dodging flying bodies on special teams.

What’s next, Cooper Kupp at kicker? Actually, yes. Kupp will be handling kickoff duties Week 1 in Detroit according to Cooper Kupp on his Youtube channel. Yep, that Cooper Kupp. Triple Crown-winning WR Cooper Kupp will be kicking off to start the game. Kicking off.

Rob Havenstein should be beloved by fans.

A player is taken in the late second round.

He proceeds to play 9 seasons (and counting).

During that span, he starts in 130 out of 147 games (88.4%) at right tackle.

The team wins 56.9% of those games.

In 5 of 9 years, his offense is in the top 10 in the league.

He also starts 11 playoff games, winning 7, including one of the two Super Bowls in which he started.

He’s been paid at market value, and never held out or sought to be traded.

He’s never been arrested, suspended or embarrassed the franchise.

He’s now the longest tenured player on the team.

He’s Rob Havenstein.

How is he not beloved?

Sports fans often profess to admire the Blue Collar/Lunch Pail types. They claim to value reliability and steadiness.

But Havenstein is rarely mentioned (apart from the occasional “most underrated” nods and odd calls to replace him).

If you’re not elite, not flashy, not a stats guy… you tend to get overlooked, undervalued, and taken for granted.

Maybe that’s okay for Rob Havenstein. After a decade with the franchise, maybe he's be happy to just finish out his career with his relative anonymity intact, his family’s financial future secured and, hopefully, his health.

Well, that and a Super Bowl ring (hopefully more than one!).

Give me draftees with careers like Rob Havenstein every day and twice on Sunday.
