Nelson Spruce

And then you have the guy who called it in June before he played a single snap.

Haha. OK Tavian I'll give you some credit for that post in June.
However, there's a big difference between what you said, "Hope he's on our roster in September I like this guy."

...and the not vague prediction I uttered probably 5 times, "I guarantee all of you that he will make the 53 man roster, even if he never plays again in pre-season. I am willing to put money on it. He's on the team, guaranteed."

See the difference? If he had not made the team, my statements could be used to tear me a new one. Yours were more of the vague kind that could not be used as evidence against you. ;)

Geez, why can't these guys just admit I can see the future and I'm the only one on earth that can predict if a player makes the final 53.

9/9 Practice Report: Gurley Primed for Strong Year 2

I don't think that going to happen hot. I went to the Rams final TC and GW was hard on the DB's playing close to the line and in their face if they didn't jam the recievers up at the snap. I tend to think that soft coverage in pre season was more to avoid injury and just get them back into the swing of things. I sure hope so. :boxing:
I hope your right

legal advice?

It was the arm that hit the line and pulled it. Now the neighbor is saying the Electric company might have hit the line last week while moving some of their lines and made it hang lower. It gets better every freakin' day. I'm getting estimates now, but it looks like it can be fixed for less than $150, but I'm going to do my best to get it back. I'm retired and I've got all day to play their games. Thanks for the input!

Rams QB Case Keenum gearing up for first Week 1 start

I watched Case a bunch too...specifically the Denver game...the "dress rehearsal" that everyone claimed was big measuring stick. I particularly took note of 3rd downs, and red-zone snaps. While we are obviously (really) going vanilla during the preseason, I found no major differences in this years 3rd down effectiveness as compared to last years team. In fact, against Denver's defense, I saw so much of what was wrong with the offense last year, that I couldn't believe they didn't wanna force feed Goff the offense and get him up to speed as a starter....My concerns...The continual check down passes...the short routes of the receivers, the conservative nature of the offense in the red-zone....settling for FG's....you know, 7-9 bullcrap. I was listening to an NFL guy...he was critiquing the Denver QB after the Carolina game...About his throws...He said something along the lines how he failed to attempt a throw outside the numbers, that in time the defense will condense around that area and dare Seimian to beat them, and the running lanes will close...sounds like the same thing our offense has done for 5 years whenever Bradford wasn't in the game...Same thing I see Keenum doing...3-5 yard outs...any pass over 15 yards must be in the middle of the field...and is floating. Which in itself is dangerous to receivers, and causes them to drop the ball...Yeah, balls floating over the middle make guys drop the ball...Alligator arm complex...
Keenum looks like a great guy....nice and all...helpful...But I'd take a mean ass son of a bitch like Dan Marino any day...I'd take the pervert sex-texter like Farve any day...Hell, I'd take Jim Everett & Vince Ferragamo & Sam Bradford any day over a guy that refuses...in preseason...to take some damn chances and stretch the field.
It's a shame, in an era after the GSOT, we as fans have become so numb to terrible offensive play...It's like, every team, except US feels like 3rd and 9 is make-able....3rd & 15 is worth a try...a deep dig route...2nd & 1 is an obvious chance to take a shot downfield. I just read were Saffold says he likes 4 play drives of 80 yards...but he's referring to some long Gurley runs...not passes...
Case averaged 165 yards a game...seemed like 100...And he was happy, satisfied with his play...you know how I know that? Body language expert an all that I am? Well, he came into camp in the same shape as last year...He's making the same throws that had us punting after 3 and outs...Nothing has changed in his opinion...He's really set to be a backup QB...The worst type of backup QB is one that doesn't really want to start...The worst.

I've said this before...We should have given Mannion his reps last year...Just to see if he wants to be a career backup or maybe a starter...We should probably cut Keenum and start Mannion....if Goff really is as bad as he's looked at times...No, not his passes but the terrible turnovers...And if Mannion is a career backup, we need to cut his ass too...Get guys on the team that want to start...want to improve...Only way to get better at that position...

Rams take wraps off Gurley as regular season starts vs. SF

I wonder if he'll take a little while to heat up. I was a bit surprised he got so little work in pre-season. I know you're trying to keep him fresh and not get him hurt - but the same has to apply to your other studs surely? Maybe not. He's pretty special. He might not need to see the game speed to get up to speed because he's almost superhuman I guess.

Let's hope he is superman and doesn't need more game rep before the season. I thought a few more series of downs would help. Let's hope for his ball security.

TRANSCRIPTS: Jeff Fisher, Todd Gurley (9/9)

(On if he has had weeks, as a head coach, where he has felt like the team was very ready and then they lost the upcoming game and vice versa or if he has a feeling about it this week)
“No, you don’t because it’s like if there’s a mistake in a Thursday practice or a Friday practice, you just correct it. You rather that it takes place during the week than on Sunday or Monday, so no. The same thing is the case with the pregame warm-ups – sometimes I, personally, will come in and say ‘I don’t know if these guys are ready to go’ and then we jump out to a 21-point lead. And then sometimes when you think they’re really going, then things don’t work out. It’s about being consistent, and that’s the thing. So the practice sessions need to be consistent. What you have to do is you have to set the bar in Week 1 and then make sure you get back there every week. And they’ve done that this week.”
So let's set the Bar High by Crushing the 49ers Monday Night!!(y)(y):D
(On what his song was in high school)
“I knew you guys would ask. You pick it – it was Jethro Tull, so you pick it.”
Who would have picked Fisher as a "Jethro Tull Man!"(y):D

Really nice read! Thanks for the post -X-!!(y)(y)

Rams' WR situation seems tenuous heading into opener

he is clean now and seems to finally have his head on straight, including his off-season/pre-season conditioning. And who better than to have Fisher as HC, who seems to know how to handle problem players.
And the last place I'd want a young guy to be located is in the city of angles....where weed grows in open fields....and there's a party every night, and a Kardashian on every corner.....

Over/under: 110 yards for Gurley

Under.

This is one of the few weeks I think the Rams will have the game hand well before the end of the 4th quarter. Gurley's carries will be reduced accordingly once the W is secured.

The 49ers are awful this year and appear to be in even weaker states for the opener. Their defensive line is already decimated by injuries. That spells trouble when games are won and lost in the trenches. Especially since Rams usually play very well in the division and are trying to build this team as one that wins by dictating the line of scrimmage.

I sure hope I didn't jinx us... :O

Jared Goff to be inactive for Rams' season opener/NFL.com

And if you were paying attention to the conversation it revolved around the excessive drops Goff had to endure. Many of which were passes downfield, where Mannion would not throw

Lol bro you jumped into me and @jrry32 conversation we do this all the time he know im not serious but i cant believe we really talking about imaginary stats

An education in quarterbacking

All the Fans calling for Goff to start and a wasted pick should read this article so they can fully understand the gap between college football and NFL football.
Goff never called a play on his own, he never took a snap from under center. He has to learn a playbook ten times thicker and eight times more complicated than what he had in college. What he will learn by holding the clip board is how a vet prepares his mind and body, observe the game intensety, conversations between QB and coaches and how they solve on going problems during a game.
I agree with how Rams are bringing Goff along. Letting him play when he doesn't fully understand, the "trial by fire" method is just too risky. He could get hurt, destroy his confidence, or turn him into a gun shy QB (Mark Bulger?) NO one can fix a QB who constantly hears footsteps.

Agreed, an alternative approach would be to simplify the offense the same way Shanahan watered down the playbook for RG3 his first year.
But this is Fisher we're talking about so putting Goff on the sidelines would be the best solution.

Season Ticket Parking....

Been watching the Seahawks tailgate parking Lot 6 on Stubhub intently for the last month to see how pricing was. Over the last few days it shot up from $290 ($250 +fees). Now it's at $360 ($320+fees). I'm sure availability is dwindling too, so I was getting a little stressed. I've been refreshing Stubhub all morning and just caught a break! $245 ($200=fees).

I'll still watch over the next week, to see how it plays out, but I felt like I had to pull the trigger. With 20+ peeps tailgating with us, I didn't want to get caught empty handed.
