Jeff Fisher says it was 'hilarious' to search for his challenge flag

I thought it was funny.
Me too
In fact, I think it would be pretty funny if Fisher pulled a stuffed bunny out of his pocket on Sunday at some point, or a panties or something
Railing on Fisher over not finding the challenge flag is pretty weak IMO. Especially considering he did still make the challenge, and rightly had the call overturned.....

Ref for Falcons@Rams

Just before the opening kickoff (9ers were receiving), there's a camera shot of Clete Blakeman fist-pumping the 9ers' kick returner in the end zone.
With this^ I remember the Chump!! And I agree with your Conclusion!!(y)(y):D
( I hope calling this guy a " Chump" doesn't violate any ROD Rules on Name call! The person is Not a ROD member- A Player- or a Coach. So I figure he's Free Game!!:mrburnsevil:)

The 10 Most Misguided Moves Of The NFL Season

Yeah, well we all have our vices. I was the party of 1 in the Jared Cook fan club, so there's that...
Ain't that the truth.

Hey, at one point or another, we form an incorrect opinion of a coach... or player.

And it's always been "just a hunch" and the picture doesn't really form for years in most cases.

But, it's your opinion and you are entitled to it.

That's what's good about this board... you're not gonna get trampled under foot for your opinion.

Luckily for me, I'm almost always right (bull:poop:)

The future ...

I know this is a tough time right now my Rams brothers but I anticipate a bright future !!!!-- A future filled with blue and yellow Rams uniforms and a new stadium !! uniforms that truly represent Los Angeles, the Rams and signify a franchise with class ,history and a reputation for winning!! In the future I see Jared Goff -a fourth-year pro who has assumed the captains roll and has put his mark on this team! A still -young but up-and-coming quarterback who stands tough in the pocket -who has the support of his teammates to rally around him in close tight games because he does not throw a pick 6 every game. I see a quarterback completing third down throws because he had the time from his line and the receivers who have the guts to go over the middle and hold on to the ball or other wise feel the glare and steely eyed stare of the fourth year pro from CAL! I see goff -from the huddle of south end zone -staring at the scoreboard of the new stadium - in a blue and yellow Rams uniform -calculating his next move as he stares down the time on the clock preparing to drive us to victory in the last three minutes versus the San Francisco 49ers. A division title is on the line. And our defense smells blood !! Look ahead my rams brothers. Coaches are on the way. New players will rally around goff and win we will!
Welcome aboard, SacRAManiac, stay Up-Beat!! The Best is yet to come!!

Tough but fair article on Rams offensive woes

2013/2014 were the peak for Fisher. Had Bradford not got hurt maybe we look at Fisher through a different lense. 2015 and 2016 seem worse than 2012. Seems like the team is regressing.

No doubt. He got screwed by Sam Bradford not being able to stay on the field, and then when Sam neared FA the dude has to deal with his QB refusing to meet in the middle on salary, which is something I personally won't forgive him for.

But he also made a crucial mistake building the OL around Jake Long, he signed the guy 2 years after the "good" version expired and brought in an injury-prone player with big salary. He basically screwed up the OL build about as bad as you can, and then elected late in his tenure to invest draft capital. Just a bad deal all around.

And then you have the windows on players. Both CBs hitting FA, more key players hitting FA again this year, and the worst thing is they signed the guy who has yet to produce the way they thought he would in Tavon.

It's a damn mess. But strangely enough, the Rams have two of the hardest pieces to find in an interior pass rusher and a QB. Those two guys and Gurley are going to make this job very attractive if Stan wises up.

Turnovers

The defense hasn't been nearly as productive as they had been, but heck our offense isn't doing the defense any favors either. Turnovers decide games and clearly that's what the numbers are showing us. Hard to believe that there's only 4 more weeks left. Maybe the Rams can get these numbers heading back towards 0 and give us some positives going into the off-season.

Offensive line

You can be smart, but ultra weak at the point of attack and get pushed around like a rag doll. That comment was to the C position specifically.
Agreed. Our center needs some lead in his pants, and yet I don't even think that would help. He may make the right line calls, but he always seems to create either a stalemate or get knocked back into the backfield. Although he does have the ability to get down field and recover fumbles well.

Former RB McKnight murdered

Interesting takes...
Also the shooter had chased down Smith's car
In this instance, Gasser's car was behind McKnights....which would imply that he followed Joe...without any car damage...all I can say is, hmmmm...

Sometimes this can come down to who got out of the car and approached the other vehicle.
Joe apparently got out of his car....

The reference to the shots being fired by Gasser while in his car brings into play Louisiana’s “Kill the Carjacker” law, an extension of the “stand your ground” law that allows for a person to use deadly force to defend himself while in a vehicle.
Which led me to this...seems he had some information/insight into how to manipulate the law to kill this man...why do I say this? See below \/

The New Orleans Advocate reports that Ronald Gasser, who admits he shot and killed McKnight on Thursday, was issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery in 2006, after another motorist called 911 and reported that Gasser had followed him to a gas station and punched him over a traffic dispute. That dispute took place at Holmes Boulevard and Behrman Highway in the New Orleans suburb of Terrytown, the very same intersection where Gasser shot McKnight.
This is Gasser's MO....his priors...what he's done b4, and now learned to manipulate the situation...

Whites are 4 times more likely to be victims of blacks, than the reverse. Tired of hearing how the police target blacks, when, according to the FBI UCR, blacks make up the overwhelming percentage of copkillers,
Don't just throw out numbers as facts without some statistics...4 times a likely to be victims? Really? Since when? What's dates are you using? Overwhelming % of cop killers? Really? Where do you get those numbers? I'll wait...
This post has NOTHING to do with cops targeting blacks...white victims...nothing...unless you are trying to set up the narrative of why YOU BELIEVE that Garrett followed Joe and killed him. And, I'd wonder how anyone would behave if someone followed you after a heated road rage incident, where there was NO accident? Would you get out the car and say, hey man, what are you following me for? Or would you drive to the nearest police department and say someone is following you? IDK...me, I'm a nucklehead...I yell at poor drivers all the time..not as much as when I was 25, but enough...traffic is a bitch out here...makes me think twice seeing Tomas' comments...

As a personal side note, I was also Honorably Discharged from the USMC on Dec.7th! 1967!

Great Thread/Post Dave!

I grew up in Pearl City, Hawaii. Pearl Harbor basically connects to Pearl City. I used to go to the Memorial all of the time... Back then (1970s), I could still see oil rising up from the Arizona. It made a lasting impression on me. I can still picture everything in my mind like I was standing there right now. December 7th is one of those dates that I know and remember almost like my date of birth.

I read a story this week about one of the survivors from the Arizona who passed away this year. He was 98 years old. His twin brother was on the ship with him when it was attacked and he was killed while trying to shoot down the Japanese planes. The surviving twin had always wanted to be reunited with his brother.... so his family took his ashes back out to Pearl Harbor today, and they are putting his ashes (with a driver's help I assume) inside of the gun turret that his brother was firing when he was killed. So awesome!

Hekker Rams season MVP?/Rams' Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year

Punter Johnny Hekker, probably heading to another Pro Bowl, has been named the Rams' Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year for his philanthropic efforts. Hekker will receive a $50,000 donation and send it to The Grace Network, which combats human trafficking. An additional $50,000 will be used to fund Character Playbook in Los Angeles, which "trains students on how to cultivate and maintain healthy relationships during their critical middle school years." In June, Hekker became the LA rep for Waterboys, which was founded by Chris Long to provide clean water around the world. - per ESPN

Rams look for pieces around Jared Goff

A left tackle and. Number 1 rec and a TE and an imaginative offensive coordinater
An imaginative OC will be able to utilize our TEs. Looking forward to Higbee's play next year with a full offseason with Goff as #1 QB. I've made the case for several seasons that getting a stud FA Center will help the team a lot and Goff significantly. Goff will make the WRs better as his confidence grows, the OLine improves, and the play calling gets better. Anguan Boldin would have been an interesting add to this team to coach up the rookies. Looking forward to Pharoh and Spruce getting going next year but won't be surprised if they grab a big WR in the draft to pair with Goff or a reliable FA to replace Britt or Quick.

Ej injury

There is always free agency. They need to retain Johnson and McDonald, but there are a bunch of guys in the secondary with skills hitting the market:

This regime is pretty good at developing players in the secondary. I'd sign one vet OL to solidify the line, and try to get the best WR on the market. Going into the draft things would not look too bad, reload the defense is fine provided they get a center somewhere mid-rounds which is where you get good value at that position.

Eric Dickerson speaks after Rams loss

I just wasn't so blind that I couldn't see it coming. Now if I could only envision the lottery numbers......
Bart It's not that everyone didn't see the signs. It's just that nobody thought Demoff
could be so dumb as to actually do it. Faulk and ED are both disgusted by it.
Want to see a crazy stat?
No NFL coach since the merger has ever had a losing record through his first four seasons and remained employed by the team.

Playoff picture

Well it'll be an upset if its not Patriots/Raiders vs Cowboys in the Super Bowl.

What would be awesome, just from historical perspective, is if it's Raiders vs Pats in the AFC champ and Lions vs Cowboys in the NFC champ and the Raiders and Lions both won. Raiders get revenge for the tuck rule bullshit that started the whole Patriots run plus was a partial factor in ruining the Rams franchise for the next 15 years if you think about it. And the Lions never could beat the Cowboys in their Barry Sanders days. Would be a nice Super Bowl I think just because I hate the Cowboys and Pats.

A few observations from the lower bowl yesterday:

It all comes down to this.

The Ram O is fundamentally unsound. Simply put, they fail to execute their assignments far too often. And I mean virtually all of the players.

I think it comes down to lack of identity 43. Fish has been quoted on saying so many times that they're a power run offense, but they never are. He'll say things like "that's who we are" in relation to the run game, but they never really have been that team who can do even that one thing well on offense. Last year was the closest thing to it with Gurley making things happen, but we see this year it's back to the same old deal.

We don't have an offensive identity.

Now we have Goff taking over, which is great, it's about time and these games and snaps are critical to him growing into the QB we expect him to become. But even with him in the backfield what is our identity? The Rams staff is all over the map. They'd probably tell you they're a run team but they can't run it. And their run/pass ratio over Fisher's five years isn't exactly indicative of the fact they're a run team either. It's madness.

Only hope for Fish is to bring in a strong OC who can put those things in place. I pray Fish realizes that.

Do the players and coaches pay attention ?

Not sure what you're disagreeing with me about, you basically confirmed with your article everything I said. My post was disagreeing with the notion that players have less than a full time job.

Point is they have a ton of downtime in between meetings and they aren't always included in those meetings IE coaches meetings, different walk thru's with different disciplines etc.
They basically work from 6am to 4pm. With breaks throughout the day. Pretty normal workday, only difference is they play a game on Sunday.

Conclusion if they're on social media they're reading about themselves or their team.
