Borges: Supporters of Terrell Owens need to open their fact books before they open their yaps

" I'll Pray for a Snow Storm of Biblical proportions!!"(y):snicker::shades:

NE Ohio, it could happen LOL.

It's Professional Football Hall of Fame. He didn't act like a professional so why would he be in the Hall of Fame.

This is a good point, but I would say why first ballot or so. He can wait, plenty of guys did.

If being an icehole should keep you from the hall then there's multiple guys who should be ripped from the Hall in every sport.

If you can separate the man from the sport for miserable guys like Ty Cobb and Michael Irvin there's no reason not to include T.O. Who's only crime is being an annoying, overdramatic wimp.

Two things......

First he isn't being ripped, he will get in.

Second what the fuck is that Chiefs shit in your icon? Is that Douchenozzle Kelce? Shame on you.

T. O. will be in the HOF.

Yup he will get in eventually.

Posting Draft Threads

Note that all threads about the draft posted in the RAMS - NFL TALK section will be moved to their appropriate section: NFL DRAFT / COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

Then why are posts about draft topics allowed in other threads in the RAMS - NFL TALK section?

Because it would be impossible to weed them all out. Besides, we're really not that anal. :sneaky:

Anything about the draft, Rams or not, goes into the draft section. Soon we'll be inundated with mock drafts and rumors about the draft which will crowd out free agency and other NFL news. It keeps things nice and orderly.

Carry on!

Simmons: John Fassel Glad to be Sticking With Rams

I disagree. I still strongly believe the defense has been unfairly and unintelligently criticized.

True, they have been good and were put in bad situations, however, the special teams was far more consistent Rarely giving up a long kick off or punt return too something that we as fans have grown accustomed to under John Fassel.

Let's not forget the special teams from yesteryear, Mike Martz changed special team coaches as often as his socks and although the units got somewhat better not to this extreme. Frank Ganz under Dick Vermeil's units might have been a tad better because of Tony Horne, but as Ram fans the run that Fassel has had reminds me of the units under Chuck Knox & John Robinson with the likes of Bill Stein, Norwood Van and Mark Jerue to post a few.

Having McVay as HC might bode well for acquiring quality FA's...

IMO that's a few years away, I have no doubt that McVay will be able to sell his vision, however, once the Rams start winning that will have the ability to draw more high profile free agents. Right now it comes down to money, location & scheme and for some the ability to win a championship.

My hope right now is the Rams just sign the right free agents under the Fisher regime they whiffed on many and only scored on a few (Britt & Hayes) this is an area that Snead has to be more successful in as well. With McVay I hope like some coaches, he just does not sign guys that he knows, but goes after the true quality free agent.

I also believe in this area the likes of Wade Phillips will be an asset as well and the big question will be do the Rams keep Trumaine Johnson? This will go a long way into seeing how free agency works out because Rams will have to allocate so much money for him. I still believe location does play a factor because as many like to post about the high rate of state tax of California, well, New York is second and it did not stop the Giants from signing all of those guys last season, did it?

Good points. I also think that McVay and Rams are a year or two away to draw the more high profile players and even want to spend that kind of money. Garcon is a good fit compared to paying top dollar to Alshon Jeffery. I know money talks but, Jeffery might want to play for a winning team when the money is close. McVay would be better served to get the culture changed with a player like Garcon.

49ers announce nine more coaching hires

Some are in quite the lather.

Just make sure to wash your hands before returning to ROD...

I had to piss on my hands as a pre-cleaning to actually wash them after visiting that site.

But I thought it was funny, earlier in the thread a few of them really wanted LaFleur and Kromer. Haha suck it d bags.

Gonzalez: Rams' new staff has a tough task at WR

Well well....and no mention of Quick...? What's going on here. LOLOL
I agree with some on Mike Thomas...Again, you can't just teach the stuff he does well. I also like North from Tennessee.
I'll hit you up when we get started on the
pre-season.Sounds like there may a bet
there somewhere
If there is ROD$$$$ bet, I want IN!!!!! LOLOLOL

Just looking at him (Mike Thomas)....He should have gotten more starts/targets/time last year.

Simmons: LaFleur Brings QB Expertise to Offensive Coordinator

I feel unsettled a bit that our HC is taking over a significant responsibility of the Offensive Coordinator job description from his OC LaFleur.
I guess we have to see how it all plays out. As long as they're on the same page...one voice...kinda thing. No different/mixed messages...No reason to panic. Concern is normal. But from where we've come, it looks and SOUNDS much better.

I am really excited about Wade Phillips

If Quinn is rarely dropping back into coverage, then doesn't that mean they know which 4 are coming? Unless Brokers, Donald, or Easely is doing into coverage. The only way to maintain unpredictability would be to put him in coverage or have him switch position on the line, from olb to de, almost as much as he rushes. Otherwise they know he's rushing and so are the 3 down lineman.
Look at many blitz packages. Often times, the OLB's will line up around the center, either showing double "A" gap blitzes...Quinn could move along the line doing this...I'd also expect Brockers to be removed from the game, leaving only 2 down linemen, with 2 LB's to rush...Maybe it'll be Quinn with Tree...maybe Barron & Tree...But mostly we know Quinn will rush...Not really that easy to predict or scheme against.

Roddy White 'would've fought' Shanahan after Super Bowl.

How many of those games were the Patriots with Brady playing while trailing?

Seriously Les....much like Faceplant, I fully expected Tom to come back...not all the way, but to make a run and NOT let this be another super bowl blowout. The Falcons players...Offensive & Defensive, choked the game away. Started playing like their assholes were tight.

Coaches are responsible for situational football/playcalling though.

Pass plays in that situation are a bad situational decision. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it LOL.

Michael Floyd pleads guilty to DUI, sentenced to 120 days in jail

New England Patriots wide receiver ]Michael Floyd pleaded guilty to extreme DUI on Thursday and was sentenced to 120 days in jail, according to court documents obtained by NFL.com.

Floyd originally faced seven charges stemming from his December 12 drunken driving arrest in Scottsdale. The Maricopa County (Arizona) District Attorney's Office dropped six other charges against Floyd as part of a plea deal.

The 27-year-old was sentenced to 120 days in jail, 24 of which will be served at a county facility. Floyd also must perform 30 hours of community service and pay a fine of $5,115.99 as part of his plea.

In a statement, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy wrote: "We have been monitoring developments but have no further comment at this time." The Patriots did not immediately return a request for comment.

Floyd had a previous arrest for driving under the influence while at Notre Dame in 2011.

The Arizona Cardinals cut the receiver after the arrest. Floyd was claimed by the Patriots days later. He appeared in three games for the Pats, including one playoff tilt. He was inactive for Super Bowl LI.

The 6-foot-2, former first-round pick, heads into free agency coming off a woeful 2016 campaign on the field, in which he compiled 37 catches for 488 yards and four touchdowns.

Matt Bowen: 20 plays every NFL coach should steal

Had to chuckle a bit at choosing a Rams defensive concept against 3rd and long, since it seemed to me the Rams surrendered a first down pretty much every time it was 3rd and 11.

Yep Stop on 1 and 2nd and setup a 3rd and long, only to be disappointed with the CB so far off.... that play is so full of holes, as the safeties are too slow to cover the WRs so they catch it and the CBs are running too far deep to stop them before they pass the sticks... Maybe that was what they were trying to show. Yeah it might have confused Brady once.

Sean McVay not giving up on Greg Robinson

I don't see how the Rams can give Robinson a 5'th year option based on his production & CAP hit. Following the initial free agency period, McVay/Kromer will only have a 3 week evaluation window prior to the draft to run GR and the rest of the team thru their paces, that's not a lot of time to make a decision on whether we may have to draft another OT or OG, and that's if they haven't already made somewhat of a 'blind' decision based on film only during free agency. My question is whether they see a potential pro bowl OG in GRob, or whether he can eventually develop into an average or maybe slightly better than average LT. Being he was a known project coming out of Auburn based on their system, and his questionable future potential as a pass protector, are we just going to fill a hole or are we going to do what's best for the player by using him at his best possible position ? If Robinson is to remain at LT, can he absorb enough training to correct his errant ways under Kromer in the limited timeframe of camp while simultaneously learning an entirely new offensive system being introduced by McVay ?

Perhaps you can explain this a little better for me. Saffold has been asked to work multiple positions for our team each season for the last 5 years, whether due to another players health or just filling holes. Saffold has almost always outplayed the players he has filled in for or replaced. He's also consistently been our highest graded offensive lineman on the unit. Yes, he's been a serious injury risk at LT, yet some still want him to start at that position over Robinson, which may make some sense from a production only point of view, although rather risky. For little reward, Saffold has done pretty much everything asked of him. I'm also not sure how many believe we save money getting rid of and replacing him with guys like Zeitler, Leary or Warmack, likely asking near double Saffold's current contract price. There are at least 4 other starters on that line which should go before Saffold.
Also, maybe you can fill me in on how/where Saffold threw Goff/Robinson under the bus, as I don't recall reading about that.

With Saffold - I He & Robinson were going at it.They were not on the same page. I can't recall the exact quote. I do know he basically did not hold himself accountable.
Saffold was horrible at RT !!!
LT he got hurt in New Orleans when Robinson was taken of the game day roster.
The quote about Goff at the end of the season after he said remember this feeling . Saffold was saying like good luck with making the team better. He has never won a thing. He is selfish. He is not a good guy to have around the young O'lineman. That is just my opinion. I believe he will get cut .
