Greg Williams Defense (Brown's Version)

it was frustrating always seeing such huge cushions on 3rd and short, but thats what his defense is built around and imo its a GREAT defense. He was just unfortunately stuck with an average at best offense every year so the defense was never able to be dominate. I think if our offense scored more and forced the other team to throw and score more too, it would have really helped the defense live up to its potential. Id like to say Williams will prove that to be true, but the Browns offense is still a work in progress so itll likely just be more of the same

every time the offense put up points his defense let in just as many points.

PFF: Ranking all 32 Offensive lines: Rams #18

For anyone keeping score:
La'el Collins was a highly rated Draft prospect who was seen as a certain 1st round pick. He was mentioned in connection with a murder inquiry just before his Draft. Consequently his stock fell and he was undrafted. He signed a UDFA 3 year contract with the Cowboys. The Cowboys have ripped up that contract after the 2nd year and signed Collins to a new 3 year contact commensurate with his value as the Cowboys starting RT. The Cowboys could have held firm, refused to increase his 3rd year minimum pay, and then used a RFA tag on Collins in year 4, (before using a franchise or transitional tag in year 5 if they thought Collins was worth it). It's nice to see a team honour what was basically a verbal agreement between owner and player, rather than screw a player over for 2 years because they had leverage. The advice for players is clear. If you have the choice to go with a team like the Cowboys or a team like the Chargers - you go with the Cowboys.

Emergency Podcast: Inside the Rams Podcast:

This was a good podcast.

The big thing will be to sign Sammy to a long term deal. He really has a lot of upside. There will be a comforting feeling for him as a Ram. He should really be the engine that puts The Rams in cruise control.
--Looking at all the pieces in place has to make Ram Fans excited.Indon't know how it couldn't.

---The scary part would be if The Rams can't resign Sammy then the cost of a 2nd round pick would be hurtful.

Jay Cutler agrees to one-year, $10M deal with Dolphins/Tannehill out for the season

Miami having the salary cap space to sign Cutler really helped out when disaster struck. Good cap management.
Rams are once again right up against the cap. No space to sign a player that will help. Not so good cap management.
It helps that they under spent last year and rolled over almost $9 million. But yes this contract though puts them right up on the cap with very little room to spare.

We'll be under the Fisher cap for a few years unfortunately.

Ezekiel Elliott bracing for a suspension

Six caught me by surprise...I would guess that might be reduced on appeal...If he's gone for the Rams game, that could be really large...Even as good as the 'Boyz OL is, they don't have another Elliott on their squad..Rams are due to catch a break at some point on this kind of stuff...This Watkins trade has me kind of feeling pretty good if he stays on the field...Big if, but it gives them the true #1 they haven't had in what seems liker forever...It's a huge positive for Goff, not only because of that, but it will open up all kinds of other stuff for the O...I haven't poured any kool-aid, but I've got the ice cubes getting ready in case they're needed...
