If you needed another reason to love McVay - He helped end Donald's holdout

There were a lot of ways our defense could be better, and AD is going to make them better if and when he gets back in there doing what he does. Add about four or five splash plays from him to today's defensive effort, and things would have been uglier for the Colts.

That said, fact remains he's a DT. He's not a requirement to build this thing right. So hopefully right now he's taking a new look not only at McVay and this regime, but also his demands. Get him signed, but don't get all stupid doing it, that's all I care about. No change there on my end and I hope it gets done still.

FF Question - Tavon or Kupp?

Problem with Tavon is he is a feast or famine guy. For fantasy I want consistency so it isn't close. Take Kupp.

Only way Kupp doesn't give you production week in and week out is if he suffers injury. He is that good a fit in this offense.

To what extent Tavon fits is up in the air. And personally I don't think he is a fit but we will see; I would love to be wrong.

TV coverage of Week 1 NFL

You know, my family and friends know that Rams football comes before everything and now that I have Sunday Ticket, every Sunday is reserved for me!

(hey, it took me a long time to get where I am, I deserve it!)

My family doesnt plan anything for sunday during football season. It doesnt matter if the Rams are doing good or bad, if your not a Rams fan I am no fun to be around on sunday. Been kicked out of many houses during Rams games, but that was when I drank and didnt have the ability to stay home on game day. lol

So... Which Ram player will you be watching most interestedly on Sunday?

On offense, Goff.

I need to see positive things from him today. And if he has a few miscues I need to see him bounce back. All the pros make mistakes, have bad plays, etc. But can you come back from that or do you melt down?

I'll be watching for that.

On defense, Quinn.

How will he do in the new defense? Is he healthy? Is he now on the downside of a nice career or will he become a force in this defense?

Colts offensive line

Only way they have a chance is if they run the ball well and get a little balance going for Tolzein. I don't think he's going to look like Joe Montana against a Wade Phillips defense.

Well there's another way: Goff being a turnover dispenser and short fielding our defense. But I will be very surprised if that happens.

Rams better stuff that run early and often.

Prediction? You'll Get Tired of Free Jumbo Jacks

For a decent fast food burger n fries i go with either Carls Jr or Wendy's.
Although for the money you spend at Carls Jr you probably could have gone to Chili's restaurant and sat down to be served for just a few more bucks instead.
We have Braum's Restaraunts where I live, and they just murder the national chains....They have a store inside where they sell their own branded ice cream (damn good), so you can get an honest to goodness real ice cream shake that is about as good as it gets, and a burger with a bun that's the best I ever tasted..(includes In-n-Out, Carls Jr/Hardees and the rest...even better than Chile's)

A word to the wise among some "big name" Ram players...

That's a misleading oversimplification of my position, I like Rams.

Look, just for the sake of keeping this short, let's consider just Goff, Gurley, and Quinn, okay? Three so called "Untouchables?" But there are many other players that might be on thinner ice than they realize.

If Goff doesn't show significant improvement over his rookie season performance, McVay would be a fool not to start considering other options at QB. Goff needn't look like a Pro Bowler, but he does need to take a second year jump. A continuation of his 0-7 start (or anything close to it) would be completely unacceptable. Doesn't mean he would be released, just means that McVay would need to make other arrangements for a starting QB.

As to Gurley, this season will be his 3rd. RB's typically play well in their first seasons, and Gurley did for 4-5 games. But not since. If he fails to impress McVay this year then he should expect to see other RB's in camp in '18.

Robert Quinn? Everybody loves the Robert Quinn of '13 and '14, me included. But that was a long time ago. Quinn needs to regain at least some of his former dominance this year or McVay will be looking for a replacement for him, too.

Easy for we fans to fall in love with our players. But this is a "what have you done for me lately" league. I think that McVay understands that concept better than Fisher ever did, despite the difference in their HC experience.

That's why I'm so optimistic about the Ram '17 prospects for a winning season. McVay "gets it" and he puts winning above all else.

I get what you're saying. It was just a large list that could have multiple players affected if another one on that list falls flat. I also think its important to remember that McVay should also be on this list if you want to be fair. Lets not forget, this is his first head coaching job, and he came from a place where we are not 100% certain who had the most influence on how the offense was ran (McVay or Gruden). I just dont think its justified to say McVay "gets" everything when he has yet to prove anything, yet these players need to prove themselves, or else. Everything this season is a big question mark for me personally.

I Look for Half Time Adjustments

You make some good points there, LoyalRam.
McV is gonna have his hands full (at least for the first few games) when it comes to adjustments. It's not just that he's a first time HC, which is daunting enough, but he has a lotta new players and moving parts on that offense.

Phillips will undoubtedly KNOW what adjustments will need to be made on defense; but the question will be if he's got the horses this year. The Rams are going into this game down 2 of 3 starting DL and a bunch of guys who didn't play much in camp. Good thing they get to open up vs a backup QB.

With regards to the previous regime, fisher and company rarely made an successful adjustments, be they at halftime or from game to game. What was frustrating was when they actually found something that was working only to abandon it the next game.
