Davante Adams feeling rejuvenated

It's so damn frustrating to not be able to hear the questions. With all the money and technology being dedicated to the NFL, why can't they mic up the media so we can hear the questions? Put a damn directional mic in front of the podium and it will catch all the questions without picking up the interviewee. Have someone turn a boom mic on and off while questions are being asked. SOMETHING!
Been a constant issue since they moved back to LA..... of all places WTF.

This was a Rams team coming off a 10-4 season, where they were favored by some to win it all after going 12-2 in 1973. But disappointing playoff losses to Dallas (27-16) in 1973 and Minnesota (14-10) in 1974 (after a 19-10 playoff victory over Washington, capped by a 58 yard pick 6 by Isaiah Robertson), had some thinking they just weren't good enough. The 73 season was remarkable because following the Miami Dolphins "Perfect Season", the Rams were 5 points from perfection after losing to Minnesota 10-9 in week 7 and Atlanta 15-13 in week 8. In the 74 postseason after beating Washington, the Rams lost to Minnesota with the help of a phantom false start by Tom Mack. Down 7-3, the Rams offense went 98 yards early in the 3rd quarter but the false start backed them up 5 and after a 3 yard scramble by Harris, his pass was tipped and picked off on the next play. Minnesota's offense went on an 80 yard drive to go up 14-3 and Harris hit Harold Jackson on a 44 yard TD but the Rams never threatened again. The 75 season was described this way.....

From the Football Encyclopedia

"The Rams had never jelled into the superpower some people expected but they still had undeniable quality and depth in all phases. The defensive unit, featuring Jack Youngblood and Isaiah Robertson, ranked next to the Minnesota Vikings in frugality of points allowed. The offense had a solid line led by Tom Mack, fine charging runners like Larry McCutcheon, Cullen Bryant, Jim Bertelson and John Cappellleti. James Harris at quarterback was just good enough to lead this club to a runaway victory in the Western Division. Chuck Knox found richeds on his bench when Harris injured his shoulder on December 14th and backup Ron Jaworski took the team to a victory in the finale."

One thing is for sure......it is a great time to be a Ram fan.
It was and it wasn't. The 1975 NFC Championship game brough me to tears at nine years of age. Knox made a huge mistake after the Rams best post season performance under him defeating the Cardinals with Ron Jaworski at QB and that was also after Jaworski scored a winning TD to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night. Know decided to go with James Harris, who was injured the last several weeks (shoulder) and that decision was one Knox would look back on with great disdain.

Harris never played well against Dallas, in fact, week 1, he was horrendous. Jaworski IMO, was ready and the Rams had momentum and home field advantage. Harris started threw an early interception, which put Dallas ahead. Jaworski did come off the bench, but the die had been cast and the Rams were buried 37-7.

I will always wonder what would have happened if Knox stuck with Jaws, but Knox was old school and believed you did not lose your starting job to injury, so he went with Harris. IMO, that might have cemented Jaworski as the QB moving forward, instead, the Rams drafted who had drafted in 1975 and had his rights, left the WFL and became the 3rd QB in 1976 and ended up the starter by post season.

Do you want to know a weird stat, you probably didn't know?

Some other stats over McVay's tenure.

The most rushing TDs in a year? 23 in 2018. Went to the Super Bowl
Fewest? 10 in 2021. Won the Super Bowl.

Most sacks allowed? 59 in 2022. We all remember the conga line of O lineman every week.
Fewest? 22 in 2019. That other year we had OL issues.

Most rushing attempts? 477 in 2023.
Fewest rushing attempts? 401 in 2019.

Some 'odd' stats.
Stafford has passed for 4,000 yards just once since becoming a Ram. He has 2382 fewer passing yards than Goff did in his 4 years but he has just 7 fewer TD passes (95) and 4 fewer interceptions (44).....in 5 fewer games.

McVay has had a 1,000 yard RB in just 4 of his 8 seasons.
He's had a 1,000 yard WR in just 4 of his 8 seasons, though he did have 2 each in 2018 and 2019.
He's had a 4,000 yard passer in just 3 of his 8 seasons.

Some questions.
Can Kyren become the first RB under McVay to gain 1,000 yards three straight seasons?
Can Stafford hit the magical 4,000 yard mark?
Will Davante Adams & Puka each have 1,000 yards this year?
Will this be the year we have a top 10 D vs both the rush and the pass?

Just wasting time until camp.......

Rams at Wembley thread (who's going, tips, advice etc)

Ugh, I thought I couldn't go, but now I can.

Did someone say there's a place for ticket exchanges at face value for those who can't attend on Facebook? Or did I read that on Reddit?

I joined a Rams tickets for sale on Facebook, but it's just scalpers charging a fortune.

I came here to post the link but saw your question - this is the group you want for face value sales from genuine fans who can't make the game

https://www.facebook.com/groups/IngressosHoteisOlympicsHotelsTickets

The group is quite keenly policed by the Admin team.

Crap like this pisses me off

Agree Den, but If I were writing an article on a team, I would at least do some research on their past
season as well as their roster and consensus outlook. Would take at most 30-45 minutes of online digging.

I would rather put in the time to try to know about who/what I was writing.
Why? Because my name would be on it But that's just me.

However, at the core , there's so much about their job that I'm totally ignorant to. Have not walked one day in authors shoes
Just remember; not everyone is always right, like us.

Rams RB Kyren Williams: 'I don't feel like I've touched my peak yet' coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons

...
He's one of those damn guys you build a team around BUT ...
...
... he has a low-MTF ... and ... when that's multiplied by his High-Impact-Tote (The Man's High-Tote is LOW!!!!!) the result is a very low-ATEX!

I mean C'mon Guys! What do you expect?!?
A low-MTF is bad enough but couple that with a low-High-Tote, which no one in their right mind ever wants, what can you expect but a disastrous ATEX!?!

For those that did not open the article, below is the relevant excerpt ...

"A new rushing metric developed by Chris Trapasso puts into perspective where Williams ranks in terms of tackle avoidance and explosiveness. Spoiler: It’s not great.

It measures a running back’s missed tackle forced rate, as well as the number of runs that went for 15-plus yards. It’s called ATEX, and this is the formula."

(Missed Tackle Forced % × 0.4) + (High Impact Tote % × 0.6)
MTF rate is self-explanatory. And HIT % is the amount of 15+ yard runs from a back divided by total carries during the regular season.
