Reshuffling the NFL Playoff Picture for 2018

The reason DeFilippo left was because of Manziel... Haslam will have to dine on some crow, but with John Dorsey running the show that might aid in getting DeFilippo, however, you could be right, if DeFilippo has options, he might decide to stay away from Haslam, but keep in mind Dick Vermeil said yes to Georgia and the Anti-Christ John Shaw.

I'm not sure if he would go back. If Haslem has totally backed off and given the keys to Dorsey he may who knows.

I'd like to see that team rise up.

Franchise player or cap hog? The wisdom of heavy QB spending

Paying a QB the money of two really good players is chump change compared to trying to pay multiple players big money to build a great defense.

The key is to pay the player his true value.

If I had to pay an Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady or Drewe Brees the salary of two players then of course I would! Guaranteed playoff run every year.

But would I pay Other QB’s that? Depends.

You try to pay the value and then a little more because alas.... Free agency.

Rams waive DT Dalton Keene

They should bring back that trick shot guy with the Dutch name.

He was awesome. :D
Jorgen Hus....He's now snapping for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL...FWIW if I had a favorite team in the CFL, it would be the Saskatchewan Roghriders. Fell for them back in 1981 as I was routing for them against Vince Ferragamo and the Montreal Alouettes. My wish was for Ferragamo to have such a bad year, he would come back to the Rams in 1982 and it happened.

The Biggest Bets of the 2018 NFL Offseason

Remember the ‘17 offseason when McVay and Kromer came in?

A lot of us were underwhelmed by the Woods signing and feared for our WR corps.

And then they drafted no OL players after that disastrous ‘16 version? Yikes!

Well, turns out that the FO and especially the coaches knew exactly what they were doing on both fronts.

I mention the above two examples as a gentle reminder for those fretting about our LB corps this offseason.

I have faith that Wade knows exactly what he’s doing there and that we’ll be just fine at LB.

I predict that we’ll see a lot of snaps in nickel and dime packages, reducing the need for LB, anyway. Our D strength is clearly in the DL and the secondary. Anyone else see Wade’s plan coming together? The MP, Talib, and Suh acquisitions now look even more brilliant, huh?

Man, I just LOVE this coaching staff. Especially after suffering through those of the preceding 15 years. Lol.

With the recent claim of Larry Rose III, the Rams RB room looks exciting

Wait.... whut? You want to see if a RB fumbles in “real games..... consistently”? Sorry but if he goes into the pre-season or even OTAs and is putting the ball on the turf, the LAST thing I want to see is if he’ll do it when we really need him to perform.

You can run for 100 yards. Put it on the ground a couple times and you just screwed the team. RBs have to do both gain yards and not fumble. You live with the occasional fumble but you can’t have a back that shows that tendency.
can you say Cleveland Gary

With the 244th pick in the draft the Rams select Justin Lawler DE

He held up pretty well vs a solid Memphis team, good strength even though he's nothing special in speed or agility:

Like him even more in this game vs Houston. Definite 5T at this level (doesn't have the mobility for the edge):

A Positive For Drafting So Late

As usual, Rams are waiting to sign their draft picks

At a time when more than two-thirds of the 2018 NFL draft class has signed, the Rams still haven’t signed a draft pick. That’s by design.

The Rams have, for several years, been among the last teams to sign their rookie class. That’s because the Rams first like to spend some time educating their rookies about life in the NFL before paying them life-changing money, which a rookie signing bonus can be.

A few years ago we noted that the Rams do “Financial Planning 101” with rookies, wanting them to have an idea of what to do with their signing bonuses.

Kevin Demoff, the Rams COO, has said he likes to sign players at the end of the offseason program, before the pre-training camp break.

“One of the things that we think is important with that is bringing the rookies in as a group, having them live together as a group, and not having any real differentiation between the first-round pick and the undrafted rookie,” Demoff said. “They’re in the hotel together. They’re eating meals together. They’re doing things together. And then [by the time] they all scatter, we’ll sign their contracts. They’ll leave knowing the contract’s done, so they don’t have to worry about that headache when they go on vacation.”

Expect the Rams’ rookies all to sign at once within the next few weeks.

Habit Burger

Good food...try the Santa barbara
Damn straight! Avocado plays VERY well with burger beef (AND bacon, for that matter)

Last month I had to go to El Segundo for work - 3 blocks from the job site was the Habit on Sepulveda. It was my first time there; went right back the next day. Damn good burgers!

King of Prussia would be an hour+ ride for me. Also saw that they have a few locations over in Jersey (the nearest to my in-laws would be the Cherry Hill location).

McVay indicates Rams' LB competition is wide open

Samson pretty much has proven he will be able to handle the Barwin spot.Depth will be the factor there.
D. Easley is a first round pick that no one is even talking about. Morgan Fox might move back from DE To OLB , which at one point he was a twiner DT.
Westbrook’s as well holds the DL. As far as ILB Kiser looks like he can play right now.Hager can play, but who is the QB on the defense??

There is so many DL man on rge roster.…

When Easley is your 4th best pass rushing interior defensive lineman....
Good lord!

Rookie linebacker Obo Okoronkwo studied the Rams player he might replace this season

Agreed. Sadly, when you watch his ALL Pro season... he used more variety in his rush and was far better against the run too.

He had the ability to be even greater.

The real sad thing is, Inthink he lost his passion. Maybe he will get it back in Miami.
He was coming off a serious back injury though, that may never make him the same player he was.
The back is such a core body part.
