Peter King: FMIA - 8/13/19

Bradford is a thrower first, par excellence, but he isn't a QB's QB. If he stays healthy with that very good AZ defense, the Rams will have a real challenge. If he folds, like I expect, then the Rams win the Division. It is the Cards, not the 49ers that I think will cause problems. IF Bradford played for the Cards last year, they win 11.

CAMP REPORT Sun Aug-12 Camp Thread

Cornerback Troy Hill did a nice job to break up a pass in the middle of the field between quarterback Jared Goff and wideout Cooper Kupp. The Eastern Washington product tried to shake Hill with a move in the middle of the field, but the cornerback stayed with Kupp nicely.
Good to see Hill build his confidence. We may need him during the season with Peterson being gone.

7) Later in 11-on-11, tight end Tyler Higbee made a particularly impressive catch. The play may have been a sack in real life, but Goff was able to get a red-zone pass off to Higbee. The tight end showed off his vertical, secured the catch, then got two feet in at the back line of the end zone for a score.
I think Higbee is capable of some great plays. I also think he will drop fewer balls this year.

.

Nice to hear Mike Thomas making plays in 11 on 11s with Goff throwing the ball to him. I like this guy.

.
Me too. If we are without Reynolds for any period of time, it is nice to know Thomas will step up. We are so deep at receiver. I like Cooper, too.

This is the year Higbee makes those catches a tad more often. He blocks well and is a big guy, coming down with the catch a few more times will improve his stock. I'm concerned with Hemingway's ability to block, still a work in progress because besides Higbee the best blocking TE on the roster is Henry Krieger-Coble.

CAMP REPORT Sat Aug-11 Camp Thread

I get the logic behind not playing our starters.

And I am not a mannion backer Per se.

But he deserves a shot with at least the better backups. Notebloom, Demby, Blythe Elrenkamp and Williams.
Neary, Allen and Lucas were getting ran over and ran by.

Yeah we need a couple of these OL backups to pan out--not looking good at this point. But the play Mannion threw that hideous pick was one of the few he actually had time and protection....

How serious a threat are the 49ers to us in the division??

Going into this season, the 49ers are one of the most overhyped teams I can think of when it comes to hype... at least since the 2011 Eagles, and I would argue these '9ers are even more overhyped simply because the extreme pedestal that Jimmy G is sitting on that fans have placed the feller... is based on... five... games. Five regular season games towards the end of the season last year. I'm just not buying it. Am I in denial? Perhaps, in a way, with the combination of being a Rams fan and wielding a natural disdain for the '9ers, and I accept that they have improved as a team, but I don't buy into them being a veritable threat until at least next year.

LB Tegray Scales?

How many ILB did we keep last year? 4-5? We've got Barron and Littleton as starters, most likely Wilson and Hager as backups. Room for one more on the roster? Fierce competition there. Maybe someone takes Hager's spot but they better be a great STer.

I could see Kizer, Scales and whomever else in a bitter battle for that last spot.

Did Harbs Have To Win Last Night?

I believe they picked up Brandon Allen because of QB Coach Greg Olson, who is now in Oakland/Las Vegas. Olson coached Allen in Jacksonville and the plan was to bring back Dan Orlovsky (who was awful) but when the Jags released Allen the Rams claimed him and maybe, just maybe Allen will be the number 2.
plus, wasn't Orlovsky kinda butthurt after getting cut last year? lol

Count Down - Jersey #31

Thanks for the kind words @Farr Be It . I think it’s great that you’re bringing back these threads to honor Dave. This season so far has left me with a void, just not the same right now. It’s amazing that someone I only knew of through ROD could leave me with this empty feeling. It just goes to show what type of man he was. I hope the RAMS can honor Dave’s fandom with a great season, playoff run, and even more.

GO RAMS
