PREGAME Rams at Bears | Sept-29-2024 | 1:00pm E.T.

Bears are a fiesty bunch though and at home. They will be playing with some fierce urgency.
Being lazy here... I haven't watched much of the Bears outside of their offense as I switch through games to check out their QB. But IIRC Eberflus is from the Dungy tree, which comes with more of a philosophy of loaf charts and executing well than disguising what they do. Should be a good amount of cover two, plus our weapons are missing, and the Bears have a strong secondary. So Stafford has to be patient.

The way to attack that philosophy is running the ball, being physical and making them move that safety up. Taking the underneath. Then taking shots when you get the desired calls. So I'd imagine our backs are in for another busy day.

This is where you flip Jimmy G to the Fins

Thanks, and same to you. Just seems very performative to me, that's all.
As someone with a TBI and 30+ years of experience living with it as well as seeing the toll it’s taken on my wife and kids, for me it’s hardly performative.

There are aspects that if you’ve never lived it, you can’t know.

It may seem performative to you, but for those of us who’ve lived it, it’s beyond the scope of the price an athlete can be expected to pay for our entertainment.

I’m speaking from experience here. I’m not jumping in on something I don’t know about intimately. Moreover, I’ve been in pain management groups and talked with fellow vets who have more serious TBI and the difficulties aren’t worth any amount of money.

And seeing that there are greater guardrails to protect fighters in gladiatorial sports than in football, it’s reasonable to expect football to enact similar rules. It not only shouldn’t be controversial, but it makes the game better. I mean, I’m pretty sure the game isn’t better leaving Tua to his own devices seeing as he didn’t inform the team of any symptoms after his first concussion leading to that horrific concussion several weeks later. It’s not like we didn’t know. Neurologists were all over the media saying he’d had a significant concussion and the NFL fucking dithered and Tua had the second huge concussion which forced their hand.

Bottom line is that there are manifold instances where we protect people from dangers including themselves if need be. In most instances, it’s not controversial and we sometimes lament having to do it at all (just think of all the insane warning labels we have now).

Kids that play pop Warner that feed into HS football dropped precipitously after CTE came to the fore. The future of football was in jeopardy . The more we understand about brain development, the more we have scientific evidence about the causes and effects of concussive and sub-concussive impacts on the brain.

The only performative stuff I’ve seen is the NFL and their half measures and their bullshit claims that they care about player safety when they refuse to even consider some of the most clear and easy to address reasons for player injury.

Sorry, this is personal for me and I’ve consistently been all over this since the beginning. Feel free to check my history.

Be well, all

I was wondering what happened with Bruss. At first I thought oh no another injury on the O line, but then he was back out there after a couple of plays and I didn’t hear anything about it so I just figured it was an equipment issue or something. Seeing that though…I like to see the grit, coming back out and still playing strong! Thanks for posting!

Saints game in December

Hey all! The wife surprised me with tickets to the Rams and Saints game later this year. I'm super excited because I'm a life long Rams fan but I've never been to a game. What have y'all's experiences been like in New Orleans? I expect some trash talk but hopefully that's about it?
Cool! We've been to 2 games in NO and def not too bad. We might go to this game too. It's been a few years but the last time we went to bourbon st it was pretty dirty. We prefer to stay in the warehouse district and it's an easy Uber there and back.

If Hunter Long stays healthy finally and keeps contributing like this I'll be happy. Trading Ramsey got us Byron Young and Hunter Long. Paying dividends in 2024 so far. Now question is what happens when Higbee is 100% again? Trading Higbee is quite the boon in cap savings rest of year and next. I'd hate to do that to a player I like but this is becoming more and more like a smart business decision. Barring an injury to one of our current TEs of course.

Next block of games…

This week is almost a must win. I think Darnold comes back to earth a month from now. Plus, hopefully Kupp and or Puka are back by then and maybe even more important Darious Williams is hopefully back.

So win this week and the Raiders game...and hopefully win one of the Packers/Vikings game.

I do think this week won't be easy. Bears are catching a lot of heat by their media and so they are desperate. Plus, their D is legit. No turnovers, and we should win, but it will be tougher than many think.

Excellent points. I’d like to expand:
1) the bears have talent and are desperate. Sound familiar?
2) the raiders always seem to snakebite a couple teams a year (ravens already), but I don’t think it will happen to the Rams following their bye.
3) yes, the vikes will come back to earth. They’re doing what they’re supposed to right now—shutting down struggling offenses. Let’s see how they handle some tight games. Darnold is due to start turning the ball over.
4) GB is well coached and their offense gives the Rams fits. It’s going to be a challenge for this young defense. They stepped up vs the 9ers, so there’s that.

I’m more concerned about the two games headed into the bye than after it. The Rams are gonna be a better, replenished team after the bye. Headed into the bye at 3-2 will be significantly better than 2-3. Two conference wins.

CELEBRATE !! Rams win!

Watched it again last night.

Troy Reeder with a huge TFL to hold the 49ners to a FG.

TELL OldSchool !! Yes on Bold Prediction when The Rams BEAT THE 8ERS !!
Troy Reeder a TFL ,3rd down stop & 8 tackles. He had 10 tackles, plus what ever else he had.

Then Tutu Atwell of 5 catches & a Big Game!! I watched Tutu Atwell & Matthew Stafford hook up on a few Deep Pass like that HUGE play. Then last year he really learned how to set up a PI on a deep pass. That was for 42 yards as well .

Dos Dos

I recall watching a young kid somewhere in the far east. Maybe it was Indonesia or Thailand. He could speak seven languages and he picked them all up just by listening to tourists. Once he was discovered he got a job at the local UN. Some people have a knack for it. I wish I did. My uncle was a translator in WWII in the Pacific. He spoke seven languages. That skill hasn’t been passed onto anyone in our family.

I had a Mexican girlfriend while I lived in Chicago. She had no interest in teaching me Spanish. I think she refused because she enjoyed speaking Spanish to me when we argued. :laugh3:
Haha that’s a funny story! Damn Latinas! I tell you when I piss mine off she talks very fast and I don’t think they are nice words. :laugh4:Which gives me the excuse “ what you were mad?”
Zach Galifianakis Flirting GIF

If Davante Adams is on the trade block, should Les make a call?

It makes sense why McVay wanted Evans.
Hes one of the most physical receivers in the game.
Adam’s is still good, but he seems unnecessary when we have other guys coming up and playing well.
Curious asf what the asking price would be. I envision it’ll be a similar situation like how we off loaded Jones but maybe for more compensation.
