Coincidence? Hopefully not! : )

The Titans run outside zone, inside zone and gap blocking scheme, which keeps teams guessing how they will be attacked. The Rams opened the season only running an outside zone with a horizontal concept, i.e. the most simplistic scheme there is. Later they tried to run a gap scheme but it was executed poorly which is reflective of poor o-line coaching.

During Tomlinson's heyday with the Chargers they ran, man power, inside zone, trap, counter, and power gap. Until the Rams diversify their run attack blocking schemes they will always struggle. McVay's run attack is too simplistic and predictable.

EWWW Moment

Recently I had occasion to take a friend to the ER late one evening. As we sat there an incident that happened to me when I was a corpsman working the ER as my duty rotation at Balboa Hospital, San Diego, came to mind. It was well after midnight when I walked up to the front desk to take a look at the waiting room. There were only a few people left, including a tall skinny string bean of a guy with big ears, and a 30ish mother with her boy who looked about 10 sitting next to him. They didn't seem to be together as the boy who was sitting next to the guy kept looking at him strangely.

"Why's he keep giggling Mom?" the boy asked. His mom only replied it's none of our business. "What's that noise?" the boy asked. The mother didn't answer she simply grabbed the boy's hand and move to seats as far from him as she could. The female corpsman at the desk sighed and called for string bean who walked gingerly up to the desk. She asked him why he was here.

He said he was in the park minding his own business, by the rocking horses when someone slammed one of the horses into his hand and he thought it might be broken. Back then there were small cast horses mounted on springs for kids to use as rocking horses in the kid's play area. She asked how could his hand get injured. He admitted he was astride the horse but not actually sitting on it when someone sneaked up behind him and pulled the horse down and let it go where it then slammed him in his butt. She was trying not to laugh when she asked him if he had a butt contusion as well. He simply shook his head no. We both could hear the muted humming emanating from behind him. She told me to take him back to a bed. I told her I needed to get some gloves first and reached for the box on her desk.

I led string bean back to the bed and pulled the drape partially around the bed. I looked at him doing my best not to laugh and asked him how could his hand be broken unless he had his hand on his ass. Just then I heard the doctor say very loudly, "Where is this guy with a dildo jammed up his ass?"

Offseason Outlook: Rams DL Michael Brockers set to enter free agency

I’ll give you a like because you expressed an opinion.

I’m going to disagree with that opinion though because I have my own.

we’ve always said that Brockers value cannot be seen through the stat sheet. If that’s what you need to see to judge him then that’s ok. Let me just remind you that there were those that felt losing Saffold wouldn’t hurt much. But Then the season started and many people changed that tune.

So....im thinking you’ll be one of the guys talking about how important Brocker “ was “ next year.

Aw see I won't because hes an average player on an average dline. If he was better our defensive stats would be a lot better. Teams ran all over us this year and it's barely a running league. Against run heavy teams ala the Baltimore ravens we got absolutely smashed.
Dallas ruined us and so did some others. We had a couple of good games against the run but they were arguably bad teams. I get that we like brockers and hes a great team player but hes not suited for this defense.

Why Steelers, Cardinals, Rams could be playoff-bound in 2020

It's actually been speculated quite a bit by the media recently, ... how accurate, who knows ?

Since the Rams lost to the whiners I have been on bit of football fast over the holidays but I also pretty much avoid the trash that comes from the mainstream media's talking head's (Sport and regular news). Hearing from legitimate insiders like Rappaport with legitimate sources are reason to take notice but the everyday vapid talking heads from ESPN and others are just noise.

Maybe there is something to it all since the Rams underachieved but I do not see the 2019's results as an impetus for drastic changes that the article's quote implies.

One of the Rams' top offseason priorities: Addressing the left tackle position

Questions

How many OT's since 2017 have deen developed with good pass blocking abilities? I am having issues naming any.

Why would you not consider hiring a OT coach who is fully aware what Goff needs from his OT's?

If it were my decision I would make a serious offer to sign AW for one more season to be the starter for most of the first half of the season until Noteboom is fully healthy with strong plans on a follow up good offer for AW to join the OL coaching staff as the OT coach.

Don’t know where this Czar bazaar thought of having Whitworth as a player/coach ??

Yes it would be nice to resign Whitworth to open up in The New SOFI stadium!! He means a lot to this group & gives The Rams time to develop these young Lineman !!

Bonify with all respect - I’d think you would like this young group of Lineman !! How they developed & if Greg the Leg hits a basic FG The Rams are in the playoffs by beating what is now the best team by record in the NFC !!!

I can’t let you get away with how much you liked Colome & Demby coming into the season !! We all saw how that went & just think of all those wasted preseason reps ??

I’m actually glad The Rams sat Allen & Noteboom only because of the experience Edwards & Evans both got this last year !!
—Wow - to me, what a season.

I really like the trade for Corbett!! He looks like a Big Core piece to these offensive line puzzle !!!

My question is what happens at center ?? I think The Rams stay in house with Allen & either Corbett or Blythe ?? Not sure who was getting second team reps in practice these last 6 weeks ?? Maybe there is the back up next season as well ??

whoever you think needs or needed to be fired ?? I don’t know, but next season will be more of the same !!!

NFL makes Playoff “hype video”, leaves out Vikings and Eagles

I find that funny actually. Neither will be in the second round anyway. The Seahawks are stumbling but they're still more consistent than Philly and will get knocked out next week. The Vikings better be ready to score 30+ points or bring their A game on defense. As much as I want Minnesota to knock the cry babies out I don't think they have what it takes this year. I think we will have to wait for the NGCCG to see Sean Peyton cry when they 3peat. Unfortunately I think that will mean the Niners go to the big game but i also believe they lose if it's the Chiefs, Patriots or Ravens waiting for them.

The aints will lose against GB. Asshole Face will cry to the NFL that it was too cold.

2020 Trade Bait ?

Mundt has been a pretty good #2 to Higbee while Everett's been absent, perhaps not the same receiving threat yet, but he's stepped up imo.

Unpolished gems are also known as rocks in their more natural state.
I doubt we'd be discussing Everett much at all if it weren't for our possibly losing Fowler, Littleton & Brockers to free agency, having a limited number of higher draft picks and wanting to extend the contracts of Ramsey, Kupp, John Johnson & Everett in an unfriendly CAP atmosphere, but desperate times often call for a dramatic action, so trying to pinpoint an area where Peter becomes the fall guy in order to pay Paul, not everybody is going to be happy about it.

I've brought up names like Everett, Havenstein & Robey-Coleman for potential trade, and there is a valid argument which might be used for retaining them all, ... either we stand pat and rely on the status quo, or we gamble on the unknown and take a few chances.
jmo.

I actually agree with the approach you are taking... I just don’t like it. :D

To “get something” you have to “give up something of value”, and Everett fits that.

Which Rams do you think will be released soon or not re-signed?

Yup the only way out right now is a trade.

And..........for those thinking GZ should be released here is some relevant info. Very few guys have his range. He's not perfect, but he's excellent. He had a down year and I suspect he has a nagging injury.

From 57 yards away he put the Rams in the SB. Many coaches wouldn't have even tried because their kicker doesn't have enough power and they wouldn't want to risk giving Brees and the Saints excellent field position to kick their own FG to win. So on that 4th and 7 they would be giving the ball back to the Saints via a punt.

And he nailed a 48 yarder to tie at the end of regulation too.

This isn't a guy you cut loose. He can make it from 60 yards out. Those kinds of kickers are rarer than hen's teeth. At the end of a game he can get the win from a long way away. He won't make all of them but he makes more than most kickers.

Remember the 66 yarder versus the Dolphins that he missed? It didn't fall short, it was wide. How many kickers could do tat?

If he struggles next year then maybe it's time to move on, but not yet.

Less anyone forget or is unaware, Greg the Leg nailed a 70-yard FG during a collegiate practice session. I am still half-expecting him to break the NFL field goal distance record sometime.

Les Snead comments to ponder

It's not hindsight if I stated the same thing when the contract was announced and I did!

This is more about what the RB market was paying. The Rams had Gurley for two more years with the last being the fifth-year option. At the time they had bargaining power. I get that the Rams wanted to reward Gurley and keep him a Rams for years to come. The Rams overshot the market by a wide margin.

Screw that. The rams did the right thing. Gurley earned that contract and I'm happy they didn't make him play another season without a new contract.

.

Losing Lindsey now? UPDATE: Nope

With so many retired ex-Rams players out there.....or even any articulate NFL retirees, if we have to go that far afield to find a former NFL who actually knows what he's talking about.....WHY CAN'T SPORTS MEDIA BOSSES GIVE US GUYS LIKE THAT WHO HAVE BEEN THRU PLAYING IN THE NFL AND REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, HUH???

Why do I have to listen to Pam Oliver and that Koeber airhead talk about a sport neither one of them ever played or has any expertise on!???
Why, you ask???
RATINGS AND TO INCREASE FEMALE VIEWERSHIP OF THE NFL...THATS WHY!!!:palm:

BACK TO THE OP......
A 20-something guy gets hired on by a big Corporation and his new boss is taking him out for his "First Day Lunch". After they order drinks, they make small talk and the subject of Montana comes up.

The new hire wants to be funny and make a joke to impress his new boss, so he blurts out: Montana!!!??? The only two things come out of Montana are Hookers and Hockey Players!

His new boss is aghast and says:
"Hey, my wife is from Montana!!"

Thinking quickly, the new hire puts on his sincerity face and asks:
"Oh really? What position does she play???":ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

10 Giant Technology Trends For The 2020's

I'm sorry, did they just say "Facebook" and "building public trust" in the same sentence?

I think a lot of older people don't understand that Facebook is dying. They have cornered the market for older generations, especially as Boomers have jumped on in increasing rates, but the younger generation isn't using it. They see Facebook as something for older people. They use Instagram (which is owned by Facebook) and a few others, but Facebook burned a lot of good will and the younger generation caught wind. I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook is largely gone the way of Myspace by the end of 2029.

Wrap your mind around this

Why do so many posters claim that Boom won’t be ready until midseason?

He’ll have 4-6 weeks longer to rehab than Kupp did and we all know how THAT worked out.

And I agree that McVay is sitting on an exciting gold mine of O weaponry in Higbee/Everett. Sure hope that McVay focuses on those two Next year. Bet that they would be a nightmare to defend along with all of our other fine weapons.
Because Kupp was already proven to be a good player at his position.

Noteboom is still mostly an unknown at LT. He's in a position where he should have to earn that spot. That is unlikely, if he wont be on the field in camp.
