NRC, "Goff does not take ownership"

From the outside it looks like they just have totally different personalities, doesn’t make one better, just different and if you’re not a rah rah guy then don’t try to be one. I’m sure it works both ways with some of that stuff like when Brady introduces himself to rookies. Brady knows that they know who he is so is it just for show or does he really care about some defensive guy who might not make the team.

Rookies vs. Vets: Van Jefferson + Josh Reynolds | Camp Life

With McVay at the helm, Les has been very good at finding WR talent. The Snead/Fisher tandem was not so great. To me that points to Fisher as the primary problem for the WR's drafted under him. Part of it was Fisher's scheme and coaching but part of it was identifying traits that make for a successful WR in the NFL. I think Fisher sought out the great athlete, where McVay strongly values football IQ, character, and route running.
Imho from what out of the Snead/Fisher was Fish was much more involved on the D side and Snead, whoever was a the OC or position Coach....Imho it was Snead/Schoot that mainly wanted Austin with Fish sayi.ng Ok

Another example Bou wanted Greg Rob, Fish gave the Ok and Snead agreed..

Snead is more about knowing where a pick is gonna go, 1st rd 22 overall etc etc and getting that player for McVay or whoever..I'm sure he has input on all players brought here..

And KD he's the Guy that knows the Value/Worth and tell McVay Snead, hey this imho is what the contact is if re/sign X...

Now hell McVay or one of his O guy Coaches my be hiTting on WRs or a Snead scout..

Rams have been since the JZ/Martz days, very quiet for the most part have very quiet about picks, always say it was a Team thing.

We might be seeing more regular season rookie snaps than we had at first thought...

A Rams draft history follow-up post by AlbaNY Ram which sheds further light on the impressive Snead/McVay draft trendline.

Here’s AlbaNY Ram...

"This is shaping up as a helluva draft so far, don’t you think?" How many in a row would that be?

Currently projected to make the final 53 from the 2020 draft (round selected & player):
<note: the Rams didn't have a 1st round pick>
2 Cam Akers
2 Van Jefferson
3 Terrell Lewis
3 Terrell Burgess
4 Brycen Hopkins
6 Jordan Fuller
7 Clay Johnson
7 Tremayne Anchrum

Currently projected to make the final 53 from the 2019 draft (round selected & player):
<note: the Rams didn't have a 1st round pick>
2 Taylor Rapp
3 Darrell Henderson
3 David Long
3 Bobby Evans
4 Greg Gaines
5 David Edwards
7 Nick Scott

Currently projected to make the final 53 from the 2018 draft (round selected & player):
<note: the Rams didn't have a 1st or 2nd round pick>
3 Joe Noteboom
4 Brian Allen
5 Micah Kiser
5 Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
6 Sebastian Joseph-Day
7 Travin Howard

Currently projected to make the final 53 from the 2017 draft (round selected & player):
<note: the Rams didn't have a 1st round pick>
2 Gerald Everett
3 Cooper Kupp
3 John Johnson
4 Josh Reynolds
4 Samsun Ebukam

Currently projected to make the final 53 from the 2016 draft (round selected & player):
<note: the Rams didn't have a 2nd or 3rd round pick>
1 Jared Goff

So basically, over the last 5 drafts we have half of the final 53. That’s damn good

Higbee gets a 4 year extention

Yup.
They want to see the common core method as proof.
Instead of solving a math problem as a whole, common core breaks every equation down to 100s / 10s / 1s. Somewhat like a hand written abacus.
They also have many different formats for doing so. Which can get confusing.
It is bullshit too. I was taught the old fashion way and I can still calculate the change faster than the cashiers calculating it on the cash register.

There should be two classes for math students. One who don't get math should be taught the new method and the one's who are good at math should be taught the old method. I know I know - it's not fair to break up classes between the good students and the not so good students - pfft.

When I was in school, I never did well on the placement tests for whatever reason. I was always put in the second tier class for English and Math to begin the school semester and I was bored as heck with the class. After two weeks, the teacher would notice that I didn't belong in his/her class and I was always moved up to the first tier English and Math classes. Those classes were much harder and I sure as heck wasn't bored then. I had to work my ass off.

Kids today - if they are smart - are probably bored as heck since teachers have to take extra time to help the kids that need extra help.

Brian Allen opens up about difficult injury rehab, bout with COVID-19

Seen any discussions on Joseph Noteboom's back up thus far in TC? :unsure:The ever-changing & still under development #2 OL team unit at this time has a few surprises::shock:

*Bobby Evans appears to be the main Andrew Whitworth's reliever & top back up @ LT. Sure looks like that Evans has a good chance to lock up a 6th or 7th OL position in 2020. This is a good example of those 7 starts & battles @ OT has given him an edge over the rest of the OL'ers. I still remain cautious & think his pass blocking mechanics is still in need of a major upgrade.:cautious:

*Reserve Jamil Demby in his 3rd TC, has been getting most of his work @ RG but has been working on his versatility enough to where Kromer is getting him snaps @ LT & RT at the SoFI Stadium event. Honestly seeing Demby giving Edwards a good fight @ RG was not expected. I really thought his time as a Ram would have run out by now.

*Last season main starter @ both OG positions David Edwards has lost his starting OG gig. Not hearing anything on this...:bueller: Best I can make out is Edwards is still getting work @ both OG posts but a new twist was he getting snaps @ RT SoFI event.

*Rookie OG Tremayne Anchrum was the #2 team LG behind Noteboom during the SoFi event. We have seen Anchrum in many videos in TC of this rookie matching up against Aaron Donald (who normally lines up usually on that right DL side facing the LG in many practices).

* Jeremiah Kolone selected to be the #2 team center behind Blythe in the SoFI event. Heard anything on Coleman Shelton & Cohl Cabral? We have seen articles on Brian Allen's ongoing issue though.

Does any member here have any additional information on the subject mater I have listed above?

Two things occur to me about our projected starting OL...

LA Rams offensive line depth chart shake up in training camp

The LA Rams offensive line depth chart gets a minor shake-up in training camp
The LA Rams appear to be committed to their five-man starting offensive line. While there is time to change things, the current starting line configuration of left tackle Andrew Whitworth, left guard Joseph Noteboom, center Austin Blythe, right guard Austin Corbett, and right tackle Rob Havenstein. That is three of five starters in their original positions from last season.

The only difference is right guard Blythe moving to the center position, and Austin Corbett, acquired via a mid-season trade last season, slides in at his more natural right guard position. The only other order of business? Only right guard Austin Corbett did not have surgery/rehab since the Rams last played in 2019.

How many more after starting five?
That is the basic fundamental offensive line configuration. But the Rams will likely carry eight linemen on the offensive line, with another two-four on the practice squad. So who will earn the final Rams roster spots as offensive line backups? Ah, that’s the real question, isn’t it?

The competition after the starting five is tough to decipher. Most of the early reps are going to the starters, simply to ensure that the team has a handle on the new offensive plays. While that keeps the focus correctly on the five main players in the trenches, it does create a bit of confusion as to the status of the rest of the depth chart. So what’s their story?

The rest of the story
What we do know right now is that several 2019 starters are now relegated to backup roles this season. 2019 right tackle Bobby Evans is looking to crack the starting lineup, having had a taste of the starting role in 2019. So too is 2019 starting right guard David Edwards looking for a spot on the offensive line.

Even Jamil Demby, last year’s jack-of-all-trades, gained a start last year and is looking for a home. Finally, last year’s starting center Brian Allen is still working on getting back to full strength. So who is left? Well, the Rams have drafted offensive lineman Tremayne Anchrum, undrafted offensive Cohl Cabral, and returning veterans Coleman Shelton, and Jeremiah Kolone.

Rams’ scrimmage second-string OL
The configuration for the Rams’ second-string at their first scrimmage was a bit of a shakeup. Per Sport’s Illustrated Eric Williams, the second string was 6-foot-4 312-pound Bobby Evans at left tackle, 6-foot-2 314-pound Tremayne Anchrum at left guard, 6-foot-3 316-pound Jeremiah Kolone as the center, 6-foot-6 308 pound David Edwards at right guard, and 6-foot-5 321-pound Jamil Demby at right tackle.

That’s 10 of 13 players. The remaining three are returning veteran Coleman Shelton, 2019 starting center Brian Allen, and undrafted free agent, Cohl Cabral. Is it time to start panicking in terms of their chances to make the roster? Not yet. After all, the coaches only had a week of pads to prepare their scrimmage lineups. They’ll be mixing and matching in the days ahead as they begin to fine-tune things. But a curious matter is developing so far. Is there a minor shakeup going on in the offensive line?

Shake up
The LA Rams signed up 6-foot-5 interior offensive lineman Coleman Shelton from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad. While it’s still early in training camp, the lack of reporting coming out of the Rams training camp about his status is not a good sign. After all, he has been a bit of a journeyman in the NFL so far, and the hope was that the Rams depleted ranks at the offensive line would give him a beachhead to finally make a stand and earn a spot. That does not seem to be the case.

Also, last year’s starting center, Brian Allen, is still fighting his way back. His injury was a bit more complex, and he was the first NFL player to test positive for COVID-19. That has created a delay in his ability to put on the pads and join his teammates in drills so far. Will he be back to full strength in time to be in the running for an active roster spot? Perhaps not. The Rams could place him on IR to start the season.

Where did they line up?

Of course, confusing the offensive line is the conflicting reports of who lined up where during the scrimmage game. Joe Curley of USA Today Network reported a different configuration for the Rams second-string offensive line. In his version 6-foot-4 312-pound Bobby Evans at left tackle, 6-foot-2 314-pound Tremayne Anchrum at left guard, 6-foot-3 316-pound Jeremiah Kolone as the center, 6-foot-5 321-pound Jamil Demby at right guard, and 6-foot-6 308 pound David Edwards at right tackle. That arrangement seems more logical.

Well, pondering the conflict further, likely answer is that both scenarios are true. The scrimmage was about finding the most cohesive group of five players, not simply to drill the same five players over and over. With so little time to evaluate players and player groupings, the Rams’ coaching staff is saving time by creating opportunities to evaluate both simultaneously.

Jamil Demby clarifies

After the game, Jamil Demby confirmed that he actually saw action at the right guard, right tackle, and left tackle position last night. That confirms that reports out of the scrimmage were not keeping up with player changes. After the game, Demby shared that he had a lot of fun, and had a pretty good game. Of course, there is always some clean up at this point in the season, but that’s understandable with swapping in and out of three different positions in one night.

Finally, and perhaps one of the biggest disappointments of the evening was the lack of information about undrafted rookie Cohl Cabral. At 6-foot-5 and 304 pounds, he offers enough size and power to line up anywhere on the Rams offensive line. So it was a bit of a letdown not to see any reports of him involved in last night’s scrimmage. Was that because he was not involved? Or more likely, he rotated in but reports failed to capture his play on the field. Is he holding his own, or struggling to keep up? The Rams wanted a rookie to compete for their center position. Did they nail it? Or does the team feel they swung and missed? Stay tuned!

Rams Scrimmage Saturday Aug-22

You already told me that. Again, one season is one season.
It is funny how people argue vehemently that after many years of varied injuries Saffold wasn’t injury prone. But now after one injury his rookie year and no issues in college Hendo is injury prone. Who knows what the future holds hir Hendo but for now the injury prone label is very premature.

How ya doing btw? Welcome back hope you’ve escaped most of the 2020 insanity.

Rams offense looking to build off of 2019 Red Zone success

fantastic.

i always felt once the rams got into the redzone last season they were gonna score. gurley was like a man possessed in that area. and goff looked better there as well.

.

That quote caught my eye too.

As did these...

This one, I don’t have any context where 5.25 sits...

The Rams earned a robust 5.25 points per trip inside their opponent's 20-yard line

But I understand this one loud and clear. Wow!

More specifically, they finished the year on a tear – scoring touchdowns on 14 of their last 15 trips to the red zone

Marcus Peters in Mid Season Form

I still remember MP going up to the fan in the stands, who was talking sh*t and asking where he was from as the fan crapped his pants! MP was no one to heckle. I have a personal story. I went to greet the Rams at Cal Lutheran at about 1 AM when they got back home to California, doing the impossible, beating the fricken Saints IN THEIR HOUSE, (still one of my favorite games in Rams history). Anyway, I was first in line jumping and screaming like a little kid when the players got in their own cars and were leaving the facility. They had to drive past the crowd as they left. A car drives towards me, very slow, then it stops for a second, the drivers window rolls down, and Marcus grabs my hand! I'm freaking out big time now. Can you imagine the emotions running through me? My team, I live and die for, are getting a heros welcome home, they are going to the Superbowl, and Marcus Peters is like YEA!!!!It was a moment I will cherish forever.
That was a cool experience for sure.
But Peters is a punk. That was a pure thug move going up to the fan and asking where he was from. Like the gang members who want to fight based on your area code. Who care where you are from ? The man paid his money, he can heckle is he wants to.
BTW, one time at a Rams Raiders game we were down on the rail watching them warm up. Chester McGlockton was down there and he has one of those bald heads that look like a pack of hot dogs in the back.
I said to him "hey lizard neck" . Got his attention and the meanest drop dead stare you ever saw.
Heckling is a art. Sticks and stones man.

IJN Yamato.....greatest battleship ever

Toured the USS Alabama (South Dakota class) and USS Drum ( Gato class sub) in Mobile, Alabama. I don't think I would have been built for the Navy. But was fun touring those crafts. USAF suited me way better. They do have an Aircraft museum at that museum park though. Worth the time to to tour if you are ever going through Mobile. Kinda cool all the Gato class subs were named after fish but I guess most subs were named that way then.

Rams LB Micah Kiser tackled pain, gets a new chance to start

He said that after recovering, he spent the offseason working on his ability to change directions and make plays in the open field.

I don't have doubt that Kiser will be a big improvement in run defense. As stated he understands the game, He can read and react even if he doesn't have elite speed. He is a little faster than Littleton in the 40. Working on his change of direction will be a big help.

The bigger question is how will he be used in coverage? I'm doubting that he is going to be used in man coverage a lot like Littleton. Staley will be trying to disguise coverage to confuse QBs. He could be good in zone coverage. He was a good blitzer in college which I'm sure Staley will have him pass rushing. I don't think Staley/Fanzio defense uses the blitz much though. He can rush the passer and they can have Floyd in coverage at times. Howard can be used in more man coverage.

Rams on Madden 21

Madden has been exactly the same since like...2005. I only buy a copy every 4 or 5 years.

Just looking at the game play all the plays and commentary are unchanged since the last copy I have (2017). I'm buying it this year b/c of the new unis, stadium for the Rams and a number of other teams, too.
Last year was the first time I didn’t buy Madden. I’ll probably get it this year for the same reason as you stated.
